The Second Best Computer Purchase I've ever made

AOC G2460PG 24" Gaming Monitor, G-SYNC, FHD (1920x1080), TN Panel, 144Hz, 1ms, Height Adjustable, DisplayPort, USB
AOC G2460PG 24" Gaming Monitor, G-SYNC, FHD (1920x1080), TN Panel, 144Hz, 1ms, Height Adjustable, DisplayPort, USB

Pros: -Everything already stated on the spec sheet -Pretty amazing color accuracy for TN -144hz w/ G-SYNC is actually mind blowing

Cons: -USB B hub connection is a bit too far to the edge

Overall Review: The first best purchase I made being a Samsung SSD, this monitor has already made gaming and desktop use feel so much better it's almost indescribable. Coming from an Acer 21.5" 1080p IPS, I was expecting a break in period for getting used to a TN panel again. I was wrong. Even out of the box this monitor surpassed my expectations. While I will say that for any 1080p display I believe 21.5" looks sharper, 24" is much better for immersion in games. I think 27" should be reserved for 1440p and up. There are many different OSD setups in guides available online for tweaking as well as some color profiles, although I've found that default setting aside from lowering gamma using windows color calibration to be more than sufficient. If you're nervous about the fact that this is a TN panel, don't be. Unless you like to slouch and look at your displays from a low or side angle, the viewing angles hardly matter at all. Looking up from the bottom everything gets darker while looking down from the top things get lighter. Looking at it from either left or right makes the farther side have a yellowish tinge. I actually prefer this as it forces you to sit straight up straight and look at the monitor straight on. As far as my con about the USB B hub, the input is just put in a strange position. It's on the far end of the inputs and the back of the monitor has a curve right where it is which makes plugging it in feel awkward, but I'm assuming it will be fine. If you setup this monitor correctly with 144hz and G-SYNC and you can't see a difference from a traditional 60hz monitor, I don't know what else to say. Do a side-by-side comparison if you can with a duplicate display and then see if you can't feel the difference. I know I can, and I definitely know I can't go back now.

Rest is too high, but the pad is good

Rosewill Memory Foam Mouse Pad with Wrist Rest - RIMP-11001
Rosewill Memory Foam Mouse Pad with Wrist Rest - RIMP-11001

Pros: Round design works well Nice material Doesn't move very much

Cons: Wrist rest is too high

Overall Review: The mouse pad i was previously using had a wrist rest which is about 1.5cm high, while this one is 2.5cm. I mostly just use this now with the rest on the opposite side. Still plenty of room to use the pad without the rest, though it would have been nice if the height was lower.

First Time Fan Purchase

MASSCOOL FD08025S1M4 80mm Case Cooling Fan
MASSCOOL FD08025S1M4 80mm Case Cooling Fan

Pros: - Very good airflow and RPM (2600-2650) - Cheap

Cons: - Loud as an intake fan

Overall Review: My only problem is that at 2600 RPM, it makes some noticeable sound. It's not so much that it's loud, but more so droning and irritating. My tower is also about 3 feet away and to the right of my monitor. I'm most likely going to be swapping it to be an exhaust fan rather than intake because of the noise. To put it into perspective, my gigabyte hd 7950 at 52% speed (equivalent to 2600 RPM) is quieter than this fan. Basically what I'm saying here is that if you are NOT planning on voltage tweaking, the fan can be very annoying as an intake, an I would suggest only buying it as an exhaust.

Can't be Beat for Price/Performance

GIGABYTE Radeon HD 7950 3GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 CrossFireX Support Video Card GV-R795WF3-3GD
GIGABYTE Radeon HD 7950 3GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 CrossFireX Support Video Card GV-R795WF3-3GD

Pros: Came with a clock of 1000, not the 900 core clock advertised. Whisper quiet, can't even hear it even when its running benchmarks. Great fan system, doesn't go above 60C when running 3dmark on max.

Cons: Currently none.

Overall Review: For $300, I'd like to see a card that beats this in both performance and quality. While the GTX 660ti boosts its own strengths, the current AMD 2 game package (Crysis 3 and Bioshock Infinite) beats the $150 in-game cash that Nvidia is currently doing. Highly recomend to anyone who is currently upgrading their computer and would like a good price/performance high tier card.
