It's a large capacity 7200RPM SATA III spinner.
Pros: Its just a spinner, its SATA III fast, its 7200RPM. It supports 3D DriveGard Hitachi makes a solid product. I have 2 Hitachi Travelstars in my notebook for over 7 years, changing to a SSD and this spinner for storage.
Cons: 7200RPM's are mostly on the edge of read failures and corrections, where a 5400RPM would not be there. These read/write corrections happen so fast you don't notice any slowdown of performance. 5400RPM's are noticeably slower but don't have the read/write correction rates as do the 7200RPM's. 931.51GB after formatting to NTSF, still a lot more storage than what I had.
Overall Review: Great for storage of all your data. Great price for a solid performer that been tried and tested.
Works as advertised
Pros: Works as advertised.
Cons: Price went down 12 Bucks after I bought it......
FAST....
Pros: Good price for solid hardware that has been thoroughly tested before being released to the public. The INTEL SSD Tool Box (free) detected the drive and immediately did a firmware update.
Cons: My notebook didn't immediately recognize the drive without formatting it (NTSF) and assigning it a letter. After formatting to NTSF its only 447GB. Still, lot of room for my games and 'pagefile.sys'
Overall Review: Just but it!
FAST......
Pros: Took me to a Windows Experience Index (WEI) of 7.7 Noticeably faster map changes during game play, less lag and stuttering. ENVY 17-3090NR 3D accepted the RAM and is using it to its full capacity. Haven't run MemTest 86 on it yet, I will do tht within the next 2 weeks.
Cons: Nothing so far.
Overall Review: Just buy it!
