Pros: Nice ARGB
Cons: Two of the three had broken posts where the wires run from the fan motor to the edge of the case and another one and one of these were throwing bearing oil after 4 months.
Overall Review: I would not waste my time on these if you can help it, Spend a little more with better bearings.
Pros: *Broadcom based hardware is easily flashed with new firmware from OpenWRT, Tomato, DD-WRT, etc.
*Extremely reliable, in my experience.
*With other firmwares, this router has more features than high end routers like the e4200 and airport extreme, other than the wireless N.
Cons: I found this particular router to be less stable with the DD-WRT firmware than with Tomato. Ocassionally, the router will go nutty and I have to reflash the firmware. Not very often though.
Overall Review: I've had this router for 5+ years, and I have tried to upgrade to the e4200. I ran into some issues with some other devices, HP C309G-m printer and the Nest Thermostat, and wireless N, so I switched back to the 54GL and have not had any problems since. I would like to have the capability of wireless N and some expanded range, but for now I need to research some better options than the e4200.
Pros: Was inexpensive. Support was easy to get ahold of.
Cons: Board started to blue screen immediately after I updated the OS and tried to test Standby. It appeared to be a memory issue. However windows MEMTEST came back clean everytime. MSI said to return it for another one.
Newegg made me pay shipping to return something that was defective. I've never had to pay for return shipping before unless it was an error on my part. What's upwith that Newegg?
Overall Review: After trying to determine what the problem was with my system, i determined to get a different board instead of exchanging for the same board. Went with different manufacturer and the replacement that I got works erfectly with all the same components.
Pros: Not completely Modular, but does not matter since the only cables that cannot be removed are the ones that are needed for every motherboard. Fit nice in my case and works great. Excellent warranty also.
Cons: None so far
Overall Review: Comes with plenty of modular cables for various different setups.
Pros: Windows 7 installed all drivers without needing the driver disc, except for the video card. Everything works including s3 standy in hyrbid sleep mode. Pc returns from sleep within 1-4 seconds. With my M2N-SLI Deluxe, I received hal12 errors with standby and other problems some of the USB ports not providing enough power. No problems here at all.
Cons: Nothing at all. Board so far works perfect.
Overall Review: Been working in IT for almost thirteen years and this is the best Mid range board I have used. I would recommend this board to anyone who does not require SLI or Crossfire. Gigabyte has found a new loyal customer.
My build is as follows:
GIGABYTE GA-MA770-UD3 AM2+/AM2 AMD 770 ATX AMD Motherboard
AMD Phenom x4 9850 HD9850XAJ4BGH
XFX ATI HD 5770 (Juniper XT)
Corsair 650HX power supply
Crucial Ballistix 4 x 1 GB (2 x BL2KIT12864AA804)
Asus DVD Burner
Samsung DVD Burner
Windows 7 x64 Professional
Pros: Card installed very easily. Worked like a charm, after I got the amd driver installed, of course.
Cons: Found that it had black band all around the screen when using an hdmi connection so I just switched it back to dvi. I probably could easily fix this with a configuration change, but its honestly not worth my time.
Overall Review: I bought this card to replace an nvidia 7600 gs and my graphics ratings went from a 4.3 to 7.4 in windows. Would not offer the 1920 full hd resolution on my monitor until I had the amd driver installed for the card.
Pros: All the features from my other remotes are available, even the menu buttons for the receiver. Anything I could do with my old remotes I can now do on one.
Cons: Not the easiest thing to program if you have a bunch of activities. I spent about 4 hours programming it because I found little glitches and I was trying to use HDMI CEC, which compatibility with HDMI CEC would be nice. Database for the devices is not completely correct for certain things. The default buttons for up and down on the directional pad when controlling my str-dh800 receiver were mapped to TuningUp and TuningDown. I had to manually remap them to DirectionUp and DirectionDown to get it to work properly with the receiver.
Overall Review: I wanted to attempt to control the PS3 through HDMI CEC with this but could not get it to work properly. It would have been nice for Logitech to get this functionality working for the newer PS3's and other devices that use it, like receivers that have problems with HDCP handshaking if they are turned on before the TV is completely up. I still have to use the PS3 controller as I refuse to pay $60 for a IR/BT converter. I could probably get it to work properly if I put enough time into programming it with customized buttons, but I don't feel like putting the hours into right now.
Pros: Works flawlessy. Now I don't have to sit directly in front of my bigscreen when charging the controller.
Overall Review: If I would have thought about it I would have bought a couple of them at the time. But I wanted to make sure it worked first.
Pros: Xvcolor and deep color work great on my tv. Newer ps3 will bitstream audio through hdmi with this receiver. 7 HD capable hookups.
Cons: No upconverting of component inputs through hdmi. Had to trade my motorola MOXI for a different hdmi capable dvr.
Overall Review: Manual is next to useless for troubleshooting. I've owned five different Sony receivers in the past and this one is the biggest let down with the lack of upconverting and the hassle I went through to figure that out, but almost makes up for it with other features.
Pros: Not Too much Bloat-ware, nice screen size and impressive size keyboard for a net book. incredibly light weight. very user friendly.
Cons: Gave it to my father for christmas and didn't keep it for myself. Only real con is that it came with CD's for restoration besides the built in restoration utility when it has no cd drive.
Overall Review: Very impressed by this and I am considering buying one for myself now.
Pros: Beautiful Colors. Easily navigated GUI. Independent Input selection button. No Dead pixels.
Cons: Looks washed out driectly out of the box but this isn't really a problem if you take the time to read the manual and set it up properly.
Overall Review: If you are willing to be patient and take the time to set the monitor up properly, this is one of the most stunning monitors I have seen. Standard mode should not be used at all. Color Saturation levels and ASCR make this a truely great picture.
Pros: This media is extremely High quality. Yeah it is a little more expensive but you do not run the risk of having them coaster on you. However if you do get coasters, it's most likely a Hardware or software fault, not the media.
Overall Review: I had some coasters made but it was due to a software glitch in the burning software. I changed the software i was using and I'm not having anymore problems.
Pros: Ram is on an Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe with x64 Vista Ultimate edition. I bought two packs of this and it integrated almost flawlessly. The mobo detected at 5-5-5-18 2t at 1.8v so i changed it in the bios to 4-4-4-12 2t at 2.2v and I kept getting blue screens. I dropped the voltage back to 1.8v and windows started up and there was an update for windows available instantly to deal with x64 vista and +3 GB of RAM. After the patch was applied I changed the voltage back to 2.2v and have not had one single problem yet.
Cons: Only the BSOD but that was fixed with a patch.
Overall Review: Glad I got two packs of this stuff.
Pros: No need for firmware upgrade yet as this has the original release firmware and no upgrades are available yet. Works flawlessly so far and even burns verbatim 2.4x DL discs at 8x
Cons: non yet
Overall Review: Hope it has better luck than the lite-ons and samsungs
Pros: Burned quickly and flawlessly for the most part.
Cons: Toaday it quit burning dual layers. It will burn the first layer fine and will act as though it is still burning. When you try to play a disc it always quits at the layerbreak
Overall Review: Going to try to get something that gets better reviews next time.
Pros: Vista 64-bit detected all of the ram with bios set to auto detect the timing. I also have 1 GB of Corsair XMS2 ddr2 800 comprised of 2 512 MB sticks and everything is running fine at detected defaults.
Cons: The Bios auto detect recognized it at 5-5-5-18 2t. I tried to manually change it to 5-5-5-15 2t. After I reset the CMOS and turned the PC back on and setup the new timings the pc came up at a blue screen.
Overall Review: I wasn't sure if this was going to be compatible with the corsair at the recommended timings for both. However it does run fine at 5-5-5-18 2t, i just would like it if I could set it to 5-5-5 15 2t to get a little better response out of it.
