Pros: The X34 is akin to a perfect 10 female minus one thing, if you get caught staring it doesnt notice, lol, ITS FREAKIN BEAUTIFUL. Games have much better color with sRGB than TN which Ive been waiting for since my old HP ZR30 IPS died 3 years ago. Cranked right up to 100, ips glow minimal, user controls not nearly as bad as made out. Buttery smooth vivid experience in every aspect.
Cons: I think it makes my girlfriend jealous, like the leg lamp in a christmas story.
Overall Review: Time for another 980ti so I can see constant 90 - 100 fps in everything.
Pros: great for 3d, smooth 120hz
Cons: might not have new lightboost tech nvidia is talking about, not Displayport 1.2 , 2560 x 1600 (but that doesnt exist yet)
Overall Review: For the reviewer Jeff, you must use the supplied dual-link DVI cable to achieve 120hz and enable 3d, HDMI is not required for 3d vision
and is actually of lower quality since it uses checkerboard or side by side frame packing, in which you only get 24fps in 1080p or 60fps in 720p. If you plunk down 700 for a monitor at least do your homework.Nuff said
Pros: Incredible color and image quality, low input lag, this monitor is incredible , i want 3 and would get them yet i am waiting for 2560 x 1600 at 120hz
Cons: none, maybe lack of osd but i dont mind
Overall Review: I have an ACER 27 inch 3d 120hz monitor sitting right next to this and I rarely use it(never), even though 120hz is smoother for gaming , the color and resolution of this monitor make it a no brainer, I use the ACER to play arkham asylum in 3d but thats pretty much it, the day when 120hz and 2560 x 1600 combine will be the ultimate, but that will take Displayport 1.2
Pros: Lots of room, the white led/fan lights give it an awesome look ive never seen before
Cons: hard drive cages a little tempermental, heavy
Overall Review: I ordered 3 more white fans 1 x 200mm 1 x 140,1 x 120 to finish the build off, im totally blown away, its about an inch taller then my haf x, but about 6 inches longer, and it looks
like it should be sitting next to the king/emperor of some old empire.lol
Pros: This card is fast , runs cool, and has 3gb ram , you can crank up AA and not run into a ram limit.
Overall Review: I bought 2 of these elsewhere, put on evga high flow bracket and backplate , they look great. You only need the ram if you are running 2560 x 1600 or higher otherwise the 1.5 gb version will do. My 30' monitor hp zr30w was hitting a vram limit with 2 x gtx 570, I got these and am very happy with purchase.
Pros: The board is great, Marvell has included a controller that even beats P67 in certain benchmarks for sata 3
Cons: chinese rabbits
Overall Review: I built a second system using an ASUS ws revolution P67 motherboard and my VERTEX 3 240gb performs just as well in the G1 ASSASSIN as it does in the P67. So for all of you out there that want proper sata 3, this board has that too! It truly has everything you could want and only gets better with newer bios's.
Pros: vertex 3 240gb scores on the Marvell 9182 sata 6:
PC Mark HDD score: 48,000
ATTO: 485/460 read/write
Cons: vertex 3 240gb scores on the Marvell 9182 sata 6:
PC Mark HDD score: 48,000
ATTO: 485/460 read/write
WEI:5.8 (C300 got a 5.9?!)
Overall Review: I bought this board partially for the sata 6 controller, knowing
I was taking a chance. I guess it is better than Marvell 9128.
The bigfoot card is growing on me, and I do like the motherboard, but I probably should have waited for a proper P67 board if the SATA 6 was my biggest concern. OH well, I'LL be gettin LGA2011 anyway.
Pros: Faster than my old C300.
ATTO Reads 485mb Writes 460mb
PC vantage HDD score: 48000
Cons: For some reason got a 5.8 on WEI, c300 GOT A 5.9.
Overall Review: I think my G1 Assassin motherboard, even with the NEW marvell sata 6 chip still might be holding this thing back.
I should have just gotten P67 and used intel sata 6
Pros: This is what i have wanted, I had an asus rampage 3 extreme
, this has way more USB ports, the 9182 marvell controller
lets my 256gb c300 get a 42000 in pc mark vantage HDD score, old 9128 marvell netted me a 34000 score. I will soon have 2 vertex 3 in raid 0. Seems more stable then my old rampage. The sound is great and the bigfoot nic seems to be working fine.
Cons: The only con is that windows 7 sticks on the opening welcome screen when booting for about 10 seconds, I have no idea why. On other mobos after the windows logo forms it then would go to the welcome screen for like 1/10th of a second and then gos right into windows. My c300 does this
not sure about my vertex 1.
Overall Review: For the love of giod,Health Nut MD , no X-58 boards have native sata 6!
Please stop over reviewing this board and giving it 3 eggs you are throwing the curve off. Every time you give it a bad score I will come back and give it 5 eggs, thats just the kind of guy I am.
Is anyone SURE the marvell 9182 doesnt do trim OR garbage collection? This seems odd for a next gen controller.
I didnt want to get Sandy Bridge just for native sata 6, as it is a non enthusiast platform(limited pci-e lanes).
This board is my answer to hopefully be able to realize sandforce 2182's potential.
Pros: check other
Overall Review: thank you for the info health nut, I didnt want to have to get sandy bridge just to realize the potential of new ssd's. Good to know marvell stepped there game up with a 2x pci e controller
Pros: I ordered and it looks gorgeous
Overall Review: can anyone confirm that this mobo uses the new sata 6 marvell 88SE9182 chip and not the 9128 like the rampage 3?
Ive heard this works with ssd's better. You can check this on the body of your mobo
Pros: quiet, works like a charm with 2 x gtx 570 and gtx 460 for physx, haf-x,.... you know, the works
Overall Review: non modular cables include 2 x 8 pin cpu power cables but I used both of them in my rampage 3, if you have a lesser motherboard the extra 8 pin cable will have to be tucked away
Pros: better temps than my sli 470's, 65c at load instead of 85c in my HAF X, much faster as well, crysis runs maxed out with 2x
aa at 60 fps
Overall Review: I have 2 gtx 570 in SLI and a gtx 460 768 mb for physx and my corsair HX 1000 psu handles it fine, I also used the high air flow bracket on the new 570's so they dont even break a sweat in furmark
Pros: SLI,Good overclocking
Cons: Ok, first of all the SATA 3 controller is really using PCI-e 2.0 which is 5gbs not 6gbs. The Marvell firmware for the sata 3 controller is a joke and will only push my crucial C-300 to 0.66 mbs using pc mark vantage on the windows defender setting!! Overall with my vertex 120's or my C-300 using anything other than the ich10r for sata cuts my benchmarks in half. And forget about raid-0 with the marvell controller it works but slowly.
Overall Review: sli is pretty tight , cards cant breath, I bought this board cause I wanted intel and still have an AMD gigabyte 890gx board which has true sata 3, not sure what to do now- have sli'd gtx 480's(future) or true sata 3
