Super Modules

OCZ Platinum 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR 400 (PC 3200) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model OCZ4002048ELDCPE-K
OCZ Platinum 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR 400 (PC 3200) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model OCZ4002048ELDCPE-K

Pros: Super great Modules, Loved em, no complications whatsoever. when installed em. Using Opteron 939 Denmark on A8N32-Sli Deluxe, over clocked that sucker at 2.6GHz left memory timing close to default SPD at 2.5.2.3.2.5 @2T @2.8V default voltage, 8800GTS, darn thing gave me 1Hr Prime and almost 9000 points at 3Dmark06, first OC try. Now I’m a moderate OC-er and I’m not asking more on this particular task and I’m Happy with the results.

Cons: None

A Little Hot

AMD Opteron 180 - Opteron Denmark Dual-Core 2.4 GHz Socket 939 110W Processor - OSA180CDBOX
AMD Opteron 180 - Opteron Denmark Dual-Core 2.4 GHz Socket 939 110W Processor - OSA180CDBOX

Pros: Nice fast and dual-doable. Some one asked whether this chip is compatible with A8N32-SLI Deluxe? Yes, that's the board am using it on now. No problem to install and the whole nine yards.

Cons: The thing runs a little hot, I heard Denmark chips run a little hotter but Jeez! 45-degree at idle? I'm using ZALMAN CNPS7000B HSF and some Arctic-Cool Paste with the darn thing and its still hot 45 at idle. I'm scare to death to even use the BIOS AI OC Option thing might blow up on me. Room Temp is about 50-55 degrees chilling. My 754 Newark on my other LP UT NF2 250GB Mobo runs at 30-33 Idle. and to top that off, the thing was originally made for 24/7 online servers. See what I mean?

Overall Review: If you're not planing to OC as the thing is fast out of the box and will tackle any game you throw at it, boot any OS including all versions of Vista, @ Dual 2.4GHz, then u have nothing to worry about, But if you're planing to have your ways with it better find another Chick, cuz this one has temper. Good Luck.

Very Nice Arm.

Nice Card

EVGA GeForce 8800 GTS 320MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 SLI Support Video Card 320-P2-N811-AR
EVGA GeForce 8800 GTS 320MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 SLI Support Video Card 320-P2-N811-AR

Pros: This card is all you need for medium/medium high in DX9 games, and medium in DX10 games (Whenever they get here). This card is just as fast as some of the GTX cards for $xxx (Minimum) less expensive. It just lacks the memory to back the speed. I had problem with card driver Version 100.65 and Windows Vista, because McAfee won’t install it correctly, not even when you turn McAfee off, driver will still be corrupted and make system hard crash into BSOD. You must uninstall McAfee and reboot system then install driver. This is something McAfee is working on to fix it, nothing is wrong with card or its driver. Good Luck.

Cons: None.

So Far so smooth

ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe 939 NVIDIA nForce4 SLI X16 ATX AMD Motherboard
ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe 939 NVIDIA nForce4 SLI X16 ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: Great look, haven’t tried dual-carding it just yet. CPU temperature was little on high side but I came over that, little bit of voltage adjusting took care of it. Now as I type I’m stress-testing it, so far so good it’s hanging. Even though 939 CPU almost left the building, this board still sales expensive. Plenty of BIOS setting to play with, solid as rock. I over-clocked Opteron 180 Denmark I had installed in it to 2.6GHz without hesitant. Nothing bad about this board I like to mention, except some of its components aren’t Vista ready, specially the support CD it came with won’t even be recognized by Vista, the good news is that the network adapter is Vista compatible and you will get Internet connection to update board through Windows Update. Good Luck.

Cons: The BIOS splash screen makes the board look kind of cheap, the graphic in the BIOS splash screen with ASUS logo wasn’t given much thought, I don’t know maybe I’m so used to DFI’s splash screen. And b4 BIOS searches for bootable drive you will have to deal with looking at RAID boot option, which you have to manually disable if you intend to use no RAID. Flashing BIOS is pain in the Tailbone, since the CD it came with, which has the flash utility is useless in Vista, you will need have to deal with MS-DOS and Afudos to command bunch of DOS command to flash BIOS Like (Most hated Windows 98 DOS) Bootable Disk style. There are no known Vista update for this board at Asus support site, fortunately once you get Internet connection Vista will update most of the board components and you’ll be OK. Didn’t like Asus support and their forums. Price is still on the high side while all competitor prices have fallen a bit for 939. That’s all so am giving this board four. Good Luck.

Do I need to tell you about ZALMAN?

ZALMAN CNPS7000B-AlCu LED 2 Ball Cooling Fan
ZALMAN CNPS7000B-AlCu LED 2 Ball Cooling Fan

Pros: I have two CNPS7000B, One on my Over-Clocked 2.6GHz (754) LP UT NF3 MOBO, and one on my sisters Over-Clocked 2.6GHz (939) A8N32-SLI Deluxe MOBO. The one on my LP is still kicking after one year (Remind me to reapply thermal) and keeping my precious CPU under 30 degrees in idle, and the other on my sisters? Well my sister is very happy and BF2 never played better. Good job on this ZALMAN People, for keeping it real and simple. You can buy these refrigerators called CPU coolers and dank em on your little innocent CPUs, but lemme tell ya this, CNPS7000B Does the job just as good.

Cons: What Cons?
