AVG Anti-Virus & Anti-Spyware V8.0 1User/2Year Small Box
AVG Anti-Virus & Anti-Spyware V8.0 1User/2Year Small Box

Pros: I used nod32 for almost 2 years and yet started having problems recently. I ran full scans to find problems but nod32 found absolutely nothing. It also didn't catch anything under safe mode. I got the avg antivirus scanner and it caught so many threats and horses that nod32 couldn't. This scanner does not use a lot of resources either. so far I like it a lot. the interface is really easy to use and more than anything it gets the job done.

Cons: none

Overall Review: it has far more features than the nod32. I feel this was the best 20 bucks spent in terms of virus scanner in years. buy with confidence. It did not alter my firewall settings or blocked any on line gaming settings. I can still do all the things i want and it gets the job done.

Linksys WRT160N Wireless Broadband Router 802.11b/g/n up to 300Mbps/ 10/100 Mbps Ethernet Port x4

Pros: definitely wider range, good looks

Cons: what good is wireless router when singal drops constantly?

Overall Review: I returned it, constant drop outs on on line gaming and internet disconnection. used it for a 8000sq ft home. good coverage overall but constant disconnection makes this unusable. I even updated the firmware, and also contacted customer service. nothing gets done to fix the drops.

Pretty good one

ASUS Laptop F8 Series Intel Core 2 Duo T8100 (2.10GHz) 3GB Memory 250GB HDD NVIDIA GeForce 9500M GS 14.1" Windows Vista Home Premium F8Sn-B1
ASUS Laptop F8 Series Intel Core 2 Duo T8100 (2.10GHz) 3GB Memory 250GB HDD NVIDIA GeForce 9500M GS 14.1" Windows Vista Home Premium F8Sn-B1

Pros: Nice screen, awesome graphics card

Cons: hate the touchpad, bad speakers, vista

Overall Review: to me, it doesn't mean a thing if microsoft spent one cent or 10 billiion, if vista's not gonna be user friendly to me and with the software that i'm used to, i don't understand why i would want vista. it probably is better OS than xp, but why bother spending money on "getting better hardware" just to keep up with unstable OS? (and does getting "better" hardware really fix all the bugs? I think not) it has not been long since Xp got somewhat stable and it'll take at least 5 years before vista gets to that level. for the reviewer below, have fun spending many many hours upgrading your hardware and "tweaking" your OS, i just don't have time / money for all that, like most of the buyers- i assume. The laptop itself is well built and and worth the money except for vista.

Decent gaming notebook

ASUS Laptop F8 Series Intel Core 2 Duo T8100 (2.10GHz) 3GB Memory 250GB HDD NVIDIA GeForce 9500M GS 14.1" Windows Vista Home Premium F8Sn-B1
ASUS Laptop F8 Series Intel Core 2 Duo T8100 (2.10GHz) 3GB Memory 250GB HDD NVIDIA GeForce 9500M GS 14.1" Windows Vista Home Premium F8Sn-B1

Pros: 1. Penryn CPU + nvida 9500M GS 2.glossy screen -looks great from the user's viewing angle 3. awesome videocard - runs oblivion with bloom on with other details haven't tried any of the latest games but I pretty much got this to run oblivion and warcraft. 4. webcam works and can spin around. 5. xp drivers available at the website 6. a lot of USB ports + other input ports + SD card reader all built in

Cons: 1. by far the worst touchpad ever on a laptop. it hurts my index finger - coarse surface! 2. had trouble with HD sound driver which gave me blue screen of death -> after updating drivers, things got fixed and was ok. 3. slightly thicker heavier than usual 14 inch notebooks, 4. I dunno why ppl love glossy screen but I hate the glare on it and has cr@ppy viewing angle aside from the main user's view- this was the only option at the time of purchase 4. webcam is slightly laggy but gives decent clips 5. DVDRW makes clunky noises but works well 6. WXGA only provides ~1200x~7-800 resolution only (or less res) 7. built in speakers are not loud enough

Overall Review: I wanted a laptop that can run games that may come out in the future like SC2, not too big (portable), with reputation. Coming from T42 lenovo which was simply the best laptop ever, I expected a lot out of this one. Before making the purchase i did a lot of research / reading on this laptop. Overall I'm happy with the purchase mostly due to the gfx card and for the price, you can't get any better specs than this. Applied artic silver too. I installed xp, b/c im not ready to get used to vista yet since i use foreign language softwares and other things that are not fully compatible with vista. It is a decent gaming /desktop replacer in my opinion.

This is good if you know what you want

ASUS Eee PC 4G Surf - Galaxy Black Intel Mobile CPU 7" WVGA 512MB Memory 4GB SSD NetBook
ASUS Eee PC 4G Surf - Galaxy Black Intel Mobile CPU 7" WVGA 512MB Memory 4GB SSD NetBook

Pros: Small, lightweight = portable, 3 usb ports, connection to external monitor, SD card slot, responsive touch pad, quiet, nice built in linux OS, software support for windows xp installation,

Cons: small, cramped keyboard space, gets pretty warm after prolonged use (but all laptops do), slow stock cpu 600 mhz , can be overclocked to 900 but not so easily done. single ram memory slot, ram cover/canopy pain to open, overall build material seems on the low quality in my opinion, 7 inch screen, awkward 800x480 resolution, websites small to view (but this was expected)

Overall Review: I knew what I was going into but this was just not for me. linux (stock)ran fine, xp was laggy, even with 2gb ram upgrade obviously nothing compared to desktop or other higher priced laptops. saw youtube videos of ppl running games - do not. graphics card sucks for games and screen's so small that you can't see anything on game screen, overall very slow speed in running warcraft3, DOTA. this laptop is just for office / chat only in my opinion. my only real complaint is that my trensend SDHC 8g card was not able to do its job of being 2ndary hard disk for the eee. It was slow and xp had trouble reading it time to time. FYI, divx videos/movies ran fine on the eee - felt like a portable DVD player more than a pc. I wanted to write this so that others will know and don't make the same mistake like me. Buy this for office / chatting.. but for 300+ bucks...?

Awesome Printer

HP LaserJet 1020 Q5911A Personal Up to 15 ppm Monochrome Laser Printer
HP LaserJet 1020 Q5911A Personal Up to 15 ppm Monochrome Laser Printer

Pros: Fast startup, quiet when not actively printing. Fast response, decent feeding speed. Not a single paper jam so far and I've used it for more than a year now.

Cons: side sheet holders sometimes adjusted too tight or too loose and making slightly tilted prints. This has to be done manually and it's not always perfectly done.

Overall Review: best printer in the market within this price range.
