Great performance
Pros: Availability Performance
Cons: Little higher cost than expected, but not a big deal
Overall Review: I've been using Thermal Grizzly Minus 8 pads twice on my Gigabyte Gaming OC 3080s over one year, and since they weren't available when I needed to reorder, I tried the Qnplum. Packaging and install is very similar, but performance for me is significantly better. With timings -250/1200/65% w/fans at 85% for ETH, temps were creeping into the mid 90's with the aging Minus 8 pads approaching 7 months, and I'd prefer the max memory temps to be ~80-85 max. After replacement with these using the same settings, temps are now 78-80. I'm assuming the longevity will be about the same at lasting ~ 6 months. Very good so far
Throttling due to poor memory cooling
Overall Review: Gigabyte appears to have failed to provide adequate cooling for the RAM in the Gaming OC. There are a number of other users that have made the same claims that occur in the same circumstances. Placed into a clean install of Win10. Consistently sub-par performance compared to other 3080 cards using Passmark PerformanceTest and userbenchmark.com (always around 20th percentile, performing far below expectations). Core temps have never gone over 65C for me. HWINFO64 verifies that the core temps are low, but thermal performance limit has been reached. This happens even at core temps of 39C. This is with the power limit set to 70% and with the core underclocked by 300. Update: The white thermal pads (almost a putty) used between the memory and cooler is the problem. I bought some Thermal Grizzly 2mm thermal pads, then took the cooler off and replaced the OEM pads. Boom done. No more throttling due to memory overheating.
Great value and performance for the price
Pros: - Good VA panel - haven't noticed much ghosting - 180 hz refresh when using DP2 cables - Minimal bezel
Cons: - Panel brightness is a bit weak. - When my computer is idle and the displays turn off, these monitors seem to be effectively turned off, because upon resuming activity, Windows loses the positions of any applications I left open on them and dumps them on to my main display, an X34GS (this isn't entirely a Windows issue since the two ancient 27" AOC 2k 60Hz displays they are replacing did not exhibit this effect.)
Overall Review: I bought two of these to replace some aging AOC 2k 60Hz displays that flank my Predator X34GS, and the color and lighting of these closely match the Predator to my surprise, despite being VA panels. Even better, when using the DP2 cables, I can set the refresh rate to 180 Hz which also matches the X34GS. The brightness is my only complaint which is a little weak which renders the HDR rating somewhat useless, but given the great price, it doesn't impact my 5/5 rating.
Nice specs and features, but terrible RMA support / bad QC
Overall Review: Ordered this with a GPU, and I didn't try using it till after the return period had passed. Randomly will get a BSOD/reboot in Windows 10 typically during gaming or under heavy load. Replaced literally every other component in the PC except the screws - PSU, GPU, CPU, RAM, drives, swapped out monitors, keyboard/mouse, other peripherals, different PSU modular cables, SATA cables. Sent back to Asus under RMA, and they could not reproduce so they sent it back to me. Absolutely never buying an Asus product again. It's been a monstrous time sink with a lot of frustration and they couldn't even swap me out a refurbished unit.
Dumpsterfire Quality and Unusable
Cons: The camera will not scan the mobile QR code required to setup the software. Completely useless. Yes, I entered the correct wifi password. Yes, the room is well lit and the display was at max brightness.
Overall Review: Zero effort product with no quality control. Not manufactured by a company called Huntvision, but is rebranded from Foscam. 0.0 / 10
Good design, features, and easy install, but manufacturing problems.
Pros: Good aesthetics, easy install, intuitive cable management options, and easy to adjust LED settings.
Cons: 1. On every single one of the expansion card covers, the screw was installed cross-threaded making it a serious pain to remove and secure cards. I'm not going to be swapping stuff in and out very often at all, so I figured I would just deal with it rather than transplanting all of my components into a replacement case - poor QC. 2. I had difficulty getting the screws holding the tempered glass panels to seat over the rubber alignment fittings. Whatever orientation I tried, one or two of the four had to be smashed down in order to get the panels back on.
Overall Review: No big problems, but definitely annoying. Still a good case overall. I would give it four, but those issues make me wonder whether I'll find any other build problems in the future.
