Pros: large size - decent price
Cons: short warranty
Overall Review: drive worked great for 2 years then died out of the blue. conveniently past the warranty timeframe. i should have paid attention but usually good drives have a minimum of 3 year warranties. so as long as you keep that in mind then i guess this is a good buy. but i really can't give it more than 3 for dying so soon. lost all the data
Pros: low wattage, stays cool and runs games at high fps on max settings. basically a 4870 just slightly less performance if any. will fit in any case. its very small for a dual slot. the fan is a "squirrel cage" as my dad calls it. super effecient in cooling the card.
Cons: some might say the noise of the fan. if over 70% it sounds like its going to brake its spinning so fast. not so much a con for me as it never gets over that so the sound of my game drowns it out.
Overall Review: i keep my card at constant 60 -75% for the fan. dont need it any hight. 1. its too loud. 2 it doesnt get that hot. i've got q9550 and 6 gigs ocz reaper. i've had this card for a couple weeks now and it runs crysis 720p on my 37'' tv at the highest settings besides shaders and its about 40 fps average.
Pros: none so far. havent been able to do anything with it.
Cons: came defective. couldnt get it to work with my pc. i removed and replaced every component to try and find the cause. it kept comming back as memory errors. at first i thought it was the mobo but it was the ram in the end.
after messing with the ram for a couple days i RMA'd the thing and shipped it in a small box with packing paper. i made sure it would get there in the original package and without any shipping damage. 10 full days later i got some "new" ram and it was in bent, crumpled up packaging that they tried to fold in half. then they stuck it in a shipping envelope and sent it to me. they didnt even stuff it with any packing material. when i took out the bent and broken bubble package the ram was able to slip out without even opening it because the side of the package was split/cut.
Overall Review: i have no idea if this ram is even any good. after opening it, i seriously doubt it works. probably just wasted 100 dollars. all my other products to build my pc were good. im very dissapointed in the responce i recieved.
Pros: so far its been stable and fairly cool. hasnt made any bluescreens or anything. fairly flexible overclocking section. bios is pretty easy to navigate
Cons: as with most boards with sli or crossfire. there is a small heatsink that will be right under one of the cards but i dont see it being too much of a problem.
Overall Review: running it with q9550, radeon 5770, 6 gigs of ocz gold
Pros: One of the best pc builds i've had. got this, a lighton dvd combo, 1 gig stick (should have gotten 2 :( oh well...) seagate harddrive, plus other needed accessories.
Cons: doesnt have built in wireless, not really an option cause it would be really expensive to get a card and antenna.
i think there is alot of space that is wasted inside the case, a little rearanging and could make it alot smaller.
Overall Review: it has lasted me a while, plays really good quality movies on my 42" plasma, if you can find the discontinued dual core with wireless i'd get it, the day i tried to get it it was sold out and a week later it was discontinued :(
Pros: good size case, just what i was looking for, long enough for a good card but not super tall like an ATX full tower. i like that it has good ventilation and the red fan in front.
Cons: top fan is way to big for its own good. it would be awesome if it worked but they didnt make it sturdy enough. maybe i just got a bad fan but right out of the box this things top fan scrapes. i cant run it because it will hit one of the plastic support rods that hold the fan motor in place. i dont want to brake the fan or ship it back so i will just trim the blades so hopefully they wont rub anything.
Overall Review: i really like this case and dont want to send it back. 1 i think its really cool and 2 it would cost more than what i want to pay just to try and get a working case that i may not even get.
Pros: Quiet! makes no audible sound after startup. when in post you can hear the fan start up but after that its so quiet that you couldnt hear it even at night. uses almost no power. the atom processor that came with mine was the 1.6GHz model which has some kind of hyper threading as the system thinks there are two processors. compatible with normal cd/dvd drives and hard drives.
Cons: seams that there was alot of empty space in the case. would have actually preferred if it took laptop harddrives to save on space but thats just me. main con would be that even though it takes a normal cd drive the way its seated takes up ALOT of space where it probably wouldnt have if some things were moved around. no onboard wireless.
Overall Review: would have liked to see a better use of space in the case. there is an updated version of this pc with onboard wireless. it would cost alot more and take alot of work just to make wireless so i would buy the new one now.
would probably be better to see the thin hard drive and disk drives like in laptops for a pc like this
Pros: Fast drive and not very loud. cheap for this level of quality.
Cons: it was ide and i meant to buy sata
Overall Review: sata version is same price as ide so just buy the sata
Pros: Awesome ram. oc'd from 800 to 940 without touching voltage. doesnt run all that hot. i have had this ram for a while though and from the picture it looks as though they have changed the heatspreader on it.
Cons: because of spreaders they almost touch each other but that is the case for all ram with heat spreaders
Overall Review: had for 6 months and never had any problems
Pros: Came with most of the essentials already. the atom processor is very quick for something that appears to be a toy processor. uses little power and is completely silent. after the initial startup you cant hear it even if there isnt any other sounds around.
Cons: the video could be better. GMA 950 is not great. is fine for everything but games obviously but would have been cool if they could have stuck something from the 8000 series in it. even a 6150 would have been better. it will play halo on lowest settings but thats about it.
you need to make sure you max it out from the start cause theres no room for upgrade
Overall Review: have to buy some kind of CD player, HD, some ram, you could put a wireless card in it if you really wanted to but it would be alot of trouble since its hard to just buy the wireless card and nearly impossible to get antenna for it without rippin one out of a dead laptop. better off getting a usb wireless device if going to use wireless.
Pros: It is very affordable and is good at overclocking. I have mine overclocked to 2.65 GHz with the included heatsink. I've had it for about 6 months and it still runs great. It only runs about 32 degrees C. I bought it when it was around 110 or 115 but now its only 100.
Overall Review: could probably overclock higher with a better heatsink.
