Finally B3 Stepping Saves the day

AMD Phenom 9850 Black Edition - Phenom X4 Quad-Core 2.5 GHz Socket AM2+ 125W Processor - HD985ZXAGHBOX
AMD Phenom 9850 Black Edition - Phenom X4 Quad-Core 2.5 GHz Socket AM2+ 125W Processor - HD985ZXAGHBOX

Pros: Unlocked Multiplier, Quad Core, Easily overclocked, Fixed B3 stepping, No TLB bug. Its AMD. I got this baby running at 2.97GHz on my first shot with just air cooling, Using the Asus Silent Square EVO 92mm.

Cons: Uses alot of Voltage, Maxes out at 1.59V cant overclock past 3.2. (Well I cant get it stable above there)

Overall Review: Be sure to update your Bios FIRST. There are alot of updates out at this time. If you already have a AM2 board then this is the one for you. This thing compares real well with the Q6600 and costs almost the same (except if you went and got that Q6600 youll have to buy a new mobo as well)

Most Critical Review

It works but thats about it.

SABRENT USB-RJXT USB Extension cable over Cat5e RJ45 Extender adapter
SABRENT USB-RJXT USB Extension cable over Cat5e RJ45 Extender adapter

Pros: It work and does extend USB.

Cons: Its USB 1 and if your planning on using it for fast data transfer you'll be upset.

Overall Review: I guess Newegg has decided that if you omit USB description then you should assume its USB 1. Lesson learned Ill inquire if its USB 2 before buying next time. I bought this to extend the connection between my Cannon and my Laptop through DSLR PRo so the session producer could see the shots in real time. Needless to say it couldnt do that job.

Great switch up from the regular drives.

WD Red Plus 3TB NAS Hard Disk Drive - 5400 RPM Class SATA 6Gb/s, CMR, 64MB Cache, 3.5 Inch - WD30EFRX
WD Red Plus 3TB NAS Hard Disk Drive - 5400 RPM Class SATA 6Gb/s, CMR, 64MB Cache, 3.5 Inch - WD30EFRX

Pros: Works as advertised. Great for server storage constantly being accessed via the network.

Cons: They do seem to run a little hot but proper ventilation fixes that.

Overall Review: I bought the first one 4 months ago to test in one of my servers. It performance was very consistent and reliable. Its worked out so great for me I bought another and then another. I have three more planned. Its a shame so many people are getting DOA and a greater shame that this trend is growing across the industry. Too often it seems that when I order more than 2 products the chances of a DOA increase exponentially. If I buy over 5 products its almost guaranteed that something will be dead.

It gets the job done

ICY DOCK MB973SP-B Tray-less 3 in 2 SATA I/II/III Hot-Swap Backplane RAID Cage Module w/ eSATA & USB2.0
ICY DOCK MB973SP-B Tray-less 3 in 2 SATA I/II/III Hot-Swap Backplane RAID Cage Module w/ eSATA & USB2.0

Pros: I bought this to move a RAID set further away from the CPU in a pretty tight 2U server chassis. 3 WD Reds front loaded with their own fan greatly reduces the heat inside the 2U. Its not noisy at all and works perfectly.

Cons: Why are there 2 4 pin molex connectors in the back instead of SATA? I had to break out a 4 pin modular cable (adding another cable to the mix) just to get this installed.

Overall Review: Could use an option to turn off the 3 LEDs. Luckily my 2U case has a door over the chassis and its covered but just how many LEDs do I need in my house these days?

Works Grea!

ZALMAN CNPS9900MAX-B 135mm Long life bearing CPU Cooler Blue LED
ZALMAN CNPS9900MAX-B 135mm Long life bearing CPU Cooler Blue LED

Pros: Great CFM:DBA ratio. This thing moves air and keeps the CPU cool. I have a AMD Phenom II 1100T, and while not the best CPU on the market i did run this thing maxed out for a couple of hours (not Over Clocked) and my CPU never got above 40c.

Cons: Mounting, Mounting, Mounting. I have never seen such a horrible mounting design in my life. The under bracket isnt stable and has no self retaining abilities. You have to lay your motherboard on a flat surface while the back bracket bubbles out causing a rocking back and forth of the Mobo while you try to push the "too short" screws down to meet the threads. Luckily I have a shop and went to manufacture a new back plate and use my own screws.

Overall Review: I removed an egg for the mounting bracket and for others it may be more important but for me its just minus 1 egg. Also, incase you didnt notice, this is 135mm which = HUGE!! Do not try to install this in a Medium case, full towers only. I did not minus a egg for this because I bought it knowing full well what this is.

Great

Cooler Master COSMOS 1000 RC-1000-KSN1-GP Black/ Silver Steel ATX Full Tower Computer Case
Cooler Master COSMOS 1000 RC-1000-KSN1-GP Black/ Silver Steel ATX Full Tower Computer Case

Pros: Ive built 4 machines using this case over the past year and all my clients are happy. Great air flow, great space, great ideas for hard drive storage.

Cons: Plugging in the HDDs can be a bit weird if you dont have both doors off the machine.

Overall Review: I really dont like doors on PCs I wish they had a version without the door on the front.
