After 18 months still working like a champ
Pros: Simple to assemble. No esata problems. Feels very solid.
Cons: Fan is a bit loud. I enclosure have mine in an entertainment center, but ifnindidnt, I'd probably turn off the fan. Expected as much for the price.
Overall Review: Connected to my WD Media Hub and has been working great for a long while. To be fair, I haven't used the esata in over a year, so I don't know if it has failed or not. Still for the price, it's a decent USB enclosure.
Great IDEA, poor placement for cables
Pros: It works. It's made with high quality plastic and cables. It's simple to install. It includes the needed screws and a little instruction leaflet. Ports work as expected.
Cons: Sigh... I have an R3 case. The opening where the previous USB2 cables came out of were above the top 5 1/4" drive bay. However, the cables for this upgrade kit extend to the SIDE. In the R3, there are no standard holes where the USB3 connected can fit without drilling. While normally flat cables would be preferable, because of this issue, you have to bend the cables severely to get them to route to the top slot. While the cables do not break, it does cause pressure on the front cause cover.
Overall Review: I brag to all my friends about Fractal design how well thought out their cases are... but this issue with the cables makes no sense. Poor design by a company called Fractal design.
It works as expected.
Pros: It cleans as expected. Better than just alcohol by itself.
Cons: Not as good as indigo xtreme. This seems to leave a slight residue on CPU surfaces (like alcohol)
Overall Review: If you need a cleaning solution from the egg that is better than alcohol, then this is the kit.
First Asus board. Forever an Asus buyer.
Pros: Perfect size for my needs. I only needed one pcie 16x slot and one 1x slot. 4 dimm slots ROG connect and High fidelity audio Can easily OC without worry High current over protection. Plenty of heatsinks on the chokes and south bridge. Smart placement of fan headers and USB 3 headers. Easy bios updates Can update bios splash image. No pci slots! Finally. Driver cd is also a boot disc.
Cons: Header for front audio header is near the rear of the board. (like most mobos) AI Suite sw is junk and almost fried my CPU. Do not install it. You have been warned. Dimm slots only have one side that locks in place. Unsure if this is common for DDR3
Good Router, for a while
Pros: Gbit Lan and Wan ports. N Wireless Easy Gui interface QoS USB port Lots of options
Cons: Sigh, after owning this router for over a year, and being nearly rock solid. The upload speed on my 40/5 service seemed to come to a crawl (.5Mbps), however download speed is never affected. After fighting with the service provider for 2 weeks to replace the modem each time, (they swapped it out 3 times), I've narrowed the issue down to this router. I've down ALL of my testing via hardwire, as wireless is not an issue. I've updated the firmware to the most recent. Same issue. Restored to factory several times, same issue. Called Dlink, they had me adjust the MTU settings, it improved slightly, but the rep was dumb as rocks and tried to tell me to wait 20 min to wait for it to improve. Long story short, I tried several MTU settings, waited more than 20 min each time and my situation is back to how it was.
Overall Review: Buyer beware... this is a throw a way router. Buy if you need a switch / AP, but wouldn't recommend for a long term install.
Wouldn't recommend either
Pros: Worked well for a week
Cons: After 1 week, the fan bearings started to fail. Then one of the fan vibrated so much, you couldn't stand to have the fans on. Fans eventually failed. Like other have said, the nubs came out quite easily, even w/o being rough with it. Would not recommend this to anyone.
Overall Review: I did not even buy this from newegg, so its not newggs fault, but shody product.
