Summer time fan cooler
Pros: Cools 5-8 degrees Fahrenheit more than the 2500rpm cpu fan during gameplay, surfing the net and running apps. Doesn't look like it's going to fry my motherboard, that's a big bonus.
Cons: Noisy but that was expected so no eggs docket for something that was anticipated.
Overall Review: Replaces my 2500rpm cpu cooling fan for the summer time only. My computer room gets toasty warm during the summer months here in CA Central Valley. It's 100+ degrees every day (it's tolerable dry heat fortunately) during July and August so to avoid paying $300 a month AC bill I set my AC a little on the high side . I would recommend this fan if your looking for a summertime 92mm cooling fan and can handle the noise.
DISAPPOINTING SAMSUNG PRODUCT
Comments: I run 8 monitors and needed a cheap analog crt as an aside, so I got this one. Dim, lifeless picture quality. White is gray and colors are washed out. Surprising from a Sansung product. I would not buy this monitor again.
Lumatek quality is first class
Pros: I have an original, first gen 400w Lumatek digital ballast and it still works perfectly. Resettable fuse breakers. Dimmable 4-positon knob makes the bulb a little brighter. Can be used for 250 watt bulb as well which is a cool feature for seedling and young plants.
Cons: Finding the lamp cord with the correct proprietary Lumatek female socket is a royal pain. Ended up getting another brand lamp cord and buying an adapter. One star off for the lamp cord problem.
Overall Review: I don't get why Lumatek doesn't include a lamp cord and why it's so hard to find one. You may find a cheaper, no-name ballast but in my experience they fail at some point and that can be a hassle.
Everyday Eye Candy
Pros: -Rich, accurate colors with great black level. -VERY bright, turned in down to 60 and that's the only adjustment I needed to make. -Lots of bang for the buck. -Noiseless, completely silent external power supply... easy and cheap to replace should it fail. -Thin and light.
Cons: Glossy... really glossy but at least no one is going to be able to sneak up from from behind and attack you.
Overall Review: My old 20" looks small now, yes size does matter. I got the 1yr extended warranty for peace of mind... it's cheap so why not.
Another fine Rosewill product.
Pros: Keys have a nice tactile feel and spring to them. Multimedia functions are a bonus, I find it convenient to have mute, pause and volume controls accessible to from the the keyboard.
Cons: At this price point and free shipping absolutely none.
Overall Review: Over the years there are some brand names that I can buy from with confidence, knowing I will get good value for the money... Rosewill is one of those names.
Last gasp for AGP P4 3.2GHz
Pros: 1 simple Molex power connection. Big quiet fan, normal card length doesn't bump into anything.
Cons: None so far with the card. Blah, blah, blah AGP.
Overall Review: Upgrade from my X1950 Pro. Keeping this rig alive as long as possible with XP 32bit and still play left 4 dead 2 at a decent frame rate. Works with driver off disk, no problem but not with ATI's AGP hotfix 9.11 XP 32bit.
