Cons: short cable, small profile
Overall Review: better to have put the $ toward top of the line
Pros: This is not a Vertex. Its the Turbo. I didnt need to do anything to make it work like gangbusters with plug and play. Admittedley, I have done firmware/trim on 2 30g vertex so I know a bit about that but this was shipped with firmware 1.30 and wiper trims it fine. Done Deal and worth every cent.
Overall Review: Took the turbo opportunity to step up to 120G so I can run ultimate 64 w/o 2x 60g vertex in raid, and evolve the system to boot! (ya, pun intended)
That said, probably my mistake trying my first Raid 0 setup with SSDs.
Pros: This MOBO is just too good for words. Its scary black magic! Somehow w/o doing any tweaking (except flashing bios to 601 to recognice E8600) and running Vista Ultimate SP1 (well I did get some nice G.Skill memory (Item #: N82E16820231177) it somehow has my CPU running at 4005 Mhz. Stable! The layout is exteremly well thought out too. This Board can probably last me 3+ years even if I want to go to something sick like a 3 monitor setup! (If games ever get to that level of kick@ss)
Cons: So far, not anything close to a con. I dont even need a Sound Card cause the HD sound is perfectly good for me.
Overall Review: I paired it with a Radeon 4870x2 and got 3DMark06 score of 19,154.
Pros: It finally came out!! -with the E8600!! going with ASUS P5E64 WS EVOLUTION and G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Power supply CORSAIR CMPSU-1000HX 1000W ATX12V 2x 300GB VR in Raid in a Stacker 830 case. Vista Ultimate... This should rock! Will update with results vs current system (which is no slouch)
Cons: Its only my 2nd build and ive never done Raid so Im a little nervous
Overall Review: Currently FX-60 with 2xBFG 7800GTX in SLI - getting about 8k in 3Dmark06
