Pros: *Excellent cooling. The fan noise is noticeable, but not overly loud. *Solidly built *Installing the drives is easy *Lots of RAID choices *Uses USB 2.0 and eSATA (though I don't have an eSATA port, so have no experience with that) *Good value

Cons: *System of flashing/solid red/blue/purple lights is somewhat confusing and the lights are fairly bright for something that's going to be on 24/7 *Virtually no documentation for anything other than installing the drives. *The RAID selector is hard to use, its unclear whether you chose the one you think you did, or the one across from it

Overall Review: *I had no problems formatting the disks in RAID 1 mode, Windows correctly saw it as 1 disk. It took close to a day, but it was over USB.

Pros: For the price, this has a lot of features - multiple RAID options, active cooling, eSATA. Quality of external materials was good, this thing never got very hot.

Cons: Quality of the circuitry/hardware not so good, failed after about 18 months.
