Pros: Solid construction, great price on Newegg. This is a heavy duty card, People complain about the "cheap heatsink". For a stock heatsink it is so much nicer than people are giving it credit for. It has 2 offset heatpipes and an aluminum dispersion ring, the blades on the dispersion ring are solid. If you bought a video card a year ago, the construction and quality of fans and heatsinks didn't come close to this.
Cons: Not as aesthetically pleasing without a full coverage encasing fan solution but... Having the board and area around the GPU open allows my fans to keep this card cooler by blowing across it.
Overall Review: Having 2x 6pin pci connectors at the rear works well IF you have a ground mounted PSU.
Update BAD NEWS
Pros: I had this thing for three months, I wrote a stellar review - perhaps a bit prematurely. After 3 months of operation gaming daily the fan went out and I see that I am not the first person to encounter this problem.
Cons: The fan went out.
Overall Review: Purchase at your own risk
Pros: First new build in ages, had my sites on the regular 900 but this is way more solid. Lots of fan space, will fit almost ALL configurations (unless your tri or quading an SLI or Xfire (if your doing that you have a custom case) Comes with really decent fans and fan controllers comes with 4 fans, 1 window fan slot and one center fan slot thats built into to the backside of the the drive bays. This thing is HEAVY duty aluminum, it feels like it looks MEATY. Once I got my 850w PSU in this thing it weighs a ton. Came with a very concise peripheral diagram for all the hundreds of tiny cables. eSata is nice. I would like to pretend that it's future proof.
Cons: I need a dolly to move it? It's pretty heavy but once it's built it won't be moving so who cares.
Overall Review: Cases are something that is nice to feel in person before you buy off of newegg, go the competitor big box store and feel what your getting, you might be surprised with some of the "brand names" they felt junky in the store.
Impressive... so far
Pros: 320 stream processors, 1 gig of DDR 3, runs extremely cool Out-Of-Box it was downright cold 37c after 8 hours non gaming use. 44c 6 hours WoW full detail, raid and main cities. This card blew away my 9800 GT in actual gameplay. The price blows my mind. This is the end of this card generation so they have stocked it out with RAM and maxed the processor. There is still the 128k bottleneck to contend with but unless you playing super graphically intense games you won't notice a thing. I bought this at a competitor store because I wanted to be able to return it in person to said competitor if it didn't fit in my case. Might note that its about 7 inches long and fits in any ATX case real easily. Runs without additional power, doesn't have a full encasement which allows my other case fans to help keep the rest of its board cool. Did I mention it runs FRIGID cold?
Cons: Hmm, I am digging here. I think it could probably use a more robust fan. I like fans so perhaps I have a bias against small high CFM fans.
Overall Review: I have a 20 1600x900, samsung LCD 2ms 50k:1 contrast and its a beautiful thing with this card. I might note that another reviwer ripped into this card for the fan going out. There is a utility in the Catalys menu that allows you to OC your setup. If you check the wrong box it allows you to manually control fan speed. This may have been his downfall.
