Pros: Worked fine for plenty of time
Cons: Didn't last forever
Overall Review: Worked great until one day it wasn't recognized. Tried it in several PC's with the same result. Lasted 6.5 years as boot drive in always on PC. Seems reasonable.
Pros: Looks good, slim, cheap, seems to work fine. No problem switching units or using tare functionality. More than accurate enough for cooking or mailing.
Now I don't have to tote my UltraShip-55 from my office to the kitchen.
Cons: Too much packaging. Came wrapped in plastic, in a plain box, in a Rosewill Retail Box in a Plain Rosewill box in a NewEgg box.
Overall Review: Saw all the negative reviews, but mine works fine. To tare, just tap on button, don't hold it down.
Pros: I left a 1 egg review based on not being able to return an unopened drive and not being able to get it to work on my controller. Newegg agreed to take back the unioened drive, and I stuck the opened one in another machine so I'm semi-happy and this should balance out the other review. I still had to buy two more drives.
Cons: Couldn't get it to work with Si3114 controller.
Overall Review: Newegg is very good to deal with.
Pros: Worked out of the box before I even installed drivers. Driver installation was easy, just ran setup.exe from the driver I downloaded from website.
Didn't conflict with my hardware RAID. Much faster than USB2.0, probably faster than my external drive supports.
Comes with two short sata cables which I didn't need.
Cons: Jumpers to change from external to internal ports could be easier. An eSata plug for disabled ports would be nice. I used tape. Didn't come with eSata cable.
In the long run, perhaps I should have bought a card with more ports, but this is what I needed right now.
Overall Review: Window 7x64 professional
Used one port for external 2TB drive and the other for internal bluray drive. Now that I've freed up a sata port on the motherboard, I need to find a place for a sixth RAID drive.
