Fast CPU
Pros: This CPU is very fast and can run very hot so liquid cooling is highly recommended, or a wind tunnel.. I get 7.8 out of 7.9 on the WEI with windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. I have it sitting under a Zalman ZQ-310 and it runs around 30c to 52c depending on what I am doing.
Cons: I have yet to find any problems with this processor.
Overall Review: I went from a 125w 4 core AMD to this 8 core and I couldn't be happier with the performance. Pair it with some good ram and a ssd hard drive and you are set for just about anything.
Will not buy another
Pros: Cheaply Priced
Cons: Signal strength was weak, Could not connect well within 10 feet of router. Bracket came bent inside a sealed box.
Overall Review: It could have been the router that was bad but this card inside my computer was causing the system to freeze in spurts even after insuring proper alignment and no driver and after driver installed same thing. Spend a little more money if you want to ensure a great connection.
Pain to install
Pros: It keeps my CPU really cool compared to air cooling. between 30c - 50ish depending on what I am doing.
Cons: This can be a pain to install. Instructions aren't exactly clear so if you have never installed something like this before, then do some research on how to do it. Instructions are Bias against AMD CPU's and lean towards Intel oriented instructions. Takes up a lot of room with two fans installed, but does a better job than air cooled.
Overall Review: Its not extremely bad to install, but could be easier if the instructions are clearer. I am sure the foreign language instructions are clearer, but I cannot read them so it wasn't much help. I have my radiator set up with the hoses on the bottom and the block with the hoses on the top and I am getting good temps without any gargling sounds from air being trapped in the system.
Decent case
Pros: It looks really nice and has enough room for what I want to do. I have yet to find any sharp edges within the case so that is a plus. Has a USB 3.0 and 2.0 on the top of it.
Cons: Metal is kind of flimsy, but for such a low price I didn't really expect that much. My case came bent like it was dropped before packaging, so not sure about quality control with raidmax although I have used them before with no problems. Accidents happen, people just need to pay attention. Box and Styrofoam was in perfect condition so this had to happen at the plant before packaging.
Overall Review: Its a really nice case for the price. Mine came slightly damaged, but not enough that I couldn't use it and did not want to spend the time and money to ship it back and wait for a replacement. Raidmax is a pretty good company and with such a volume I guess accidents are bound to happen.
Great motherboard.
Pros: This is a great motherboard. Very nice bios interface and I love that there are two 16x PCIE slots onboard instead of running two at half speed. Now I just need another video card to set up a crossfire config. Everything went together nicely and it even looks pretty even though my tower is concealed in an enclosed space and I cannot see it...
Cons: The area directly to the left of the CPU slot can get pretty hot at times. It gets even hotter when using a liquid cooler that hangs over all of the components there. Not a problem if you have a larger case than mine and can locate a liquid cooler somewhere else.
Overall Review: You have to play around to get the memory to read higher than 1600. I have 1866 and it first recognized it at 1600 instead. If you are using air cooling, watch your heatsink because it is possible that the memory could get in the way.
Awesome Card
Pros: Very nice card for the price. This card stays very cool while running games on high settings and my tower is in a semi enclosed area in my desk. AMD Overdrive is great, I can run the card at max overclocked settings by software control and the card barely heats up at all, maybe 2 degrees hotter than at normal clock. AMD Overdrive will automatically apply the overclocked settings only when needed, so the strain is not as great on the card at all times, only when you are watching videos or playing games. You can also set up custom rules. HIS is a very good manufacturer
Cons: It isn't the highest end card made, but not really a con. You can only get as good as you pay for.
Overall Review: This card gives me a 6.8 index rating. My GTX 260 gave me a 7.3 index rating, but to be honest with you, I can barely notice a difference except my computer isn't overheating from the huge card with a dying fan on it. The GPU cooler I wanted cost the same as this card, so having great experiences with my HIS Radeon HD 4670 I decided to buy this upgraded version of that card. That and this card is just about the same price as the 4670.
