Glorious for its time

Logitech G500 Black Chrome 10 Buttons Dual-mode Scroll Wheel USB Wired Laser 5700 dpi Gaming Mouse
Logitech G500 Black Chrome 10 Buttons Dual-mode Scroll Wheel USB Wired Laser 5700 dpi Gaming Mouse

Pros: -Precision laser, 5k+ DPI available w/ on the fly adjustment -Unlockable scroll wheel for power scrolling - sleek design, rubber sides get rid of the standard plastic mouse feel. -Ergonomically perfect for its time -Affordable, would buy again if it fit my needs.

Cons: I stated it was "ergonomically perfect for its time", unfortunate that time is coming to an end. If all you play is FPS shooters this mouse will be perfect for you, but in modern time gamers need more than two additional buttons for their mouse hand to command. This is the only complaint, and I refuse to deduct an egg. - Logitech forced me to switch to an inferior manufacturer because they refuse to release a mouse to compete with the additional 17 button design. Release one and I will come back to you logitech!

Overall Review: The DPI adjustment gives you a monstrous advantage in battlefield titles (or any title that has you switching from foot to turret vehicle constantly) A quick tip for battlefield players - Set your DPI on the middle light how you plan on playing while on foot, when you get in a tank ramp the DPI up by 2,000-3,000 and be amazed at how the turret spins on a dime. I am shelving this mouse today, again there is nothing wrong with it. The hardware and software is a dream to work with, it just doesn't meet my needs anymore. I'll miss you G500. <3

MADCATZ Tritton AX Pro Dolby Digital 5.1 Headset
MADCATZ Tritton AX Pro Dolby Digital 5.1 Headset

Pros: Comfortable, decent mids/highs. As advertised worked gloriously for MW2, but sound apparently isn't as important in this generation of gaming.

Cons: After a year of gaming the microphone has stopped working for no particular reason. These had a very convenient resting place on my desk where no stress was put on any part of the headset. Was working fine one day, broken the next. People complained about it being crackly from day one anyway, but I was after this piece for the 5.1 SS. Construction of the overall headset seems "rushed". It features about 4-5 different gauges of wiring (width) some much more frail than others. Some parts of the assembly just seem counter productive, like the company went with the first production model of whatever worked.

Overall Review: The headset is comfortable but I would have expected to see a price drop within a year. I paid $180 for these because I wanted solid construction that would last. I was tired of buying headsets that would last 6 months and break, even though sound quality was great and first impressions of this piece were up to standards, they build quality seems to deteriorate at about the same rate as a standard $40 headset. Taking apart the ear housing a single cable revealed that it was held on by one solder and that's it. It was a fun trip, but I would not buy again.

ASUS Xonar DG 5.1 Channels 24-bit 96KHz PCI Interface Sound Card
ASUS Xonar DG 5.1 Channels 24-bit 96KHz PCI Interface Sound Card

Pros: *low price *small card

Cons: *crashes constantly - sound hangs semi-regularly after programs are closed/crash. Card has to be disabled and enabled through the device manager to fix it.

Overall Review: Can't remember a time when I wasn't having trouble with this card. Finally pulled it out of the system today and went back to onboard. Not worth the trouble.

HIS iPower IceQ X² OC Radeon R9 290 4GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 Video Card H290QMC4GD
HIS iPower IceQ X² OC Radeon R9 290 4GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 Video Card H290QMC4GD

Pros: -Decently priced 290, but there are others in this range now if you look. -Runs the Witcher 3@55-60fps no problem with all settings on high( -Nvidia Hairworks) -Runs GTA 5@55-60fps all settings on high -Just going to assume it runs all modern games that do not incorporate some type of Nvidia Gameworks really well.

Cons: -The default fan settings on this card are horrible, and it's likely why so many users have reported the card failing in the first month or so. See other thoughts for more on this. -It's still ugly, I would love to hear the philosophy behind it the style guide on this thing. - It's only marked as "on sale" because it occasionally is bumped up to $300 from $249, but that's just business I suppose.

Overall Review: So this card shoots right up to 85c when gaming, I have recorded temperatures as high as 89c. This is absolutely horrible for a non-reference cooler. The default settings have this card only kicking into 100% fan speed once it hits 90c, which is a huge mistake IMO. I believe it's the reason so many of them have failed other users. If you just run MSI Afterburner and set the fans to kick up to 100% at 72-74c you will save this card months, maybe years of life. With this change I was able to bring gaming temps down 14 degrees constant. Doesn't seem like much, but the difference between 89c and 75c is significant. Also a question for MSI, is there any after market cooler support for this card? I am wondering if the Artctic IV or Kraken G10 would fit?

XTRAC PADS Ripper RIPPER XL Optical Mouse pad
XTRAC PADS Ripper RIPPER XL Optical Mouse pad

Pros: Same exact quality as the Steelseries Qck+, none of the gaudy "gamer" markup.

Cons: none

Overall Review: Huge mousepad, love it. Would buy again.

Nokia 925 Black 3G LTE Windows Phone 8 Dual-Core 1.5GHz 16GB 8.0MP Camera Unlocked GSM Cell Phone
Nokia 925 Black 3G LTE Windows Phone 8 Dual-Core 1.5GHz 16GB 8.0MP Camera Unlocked GSM Cell Phone

Pros: Nice big screen, quality camera.

Cons: Terribly ugly UI, artistically dull, borderline depressing white font over black background for EVERYTHING. No UI customization present. Completely barren app store, lots of junk apps, poorly optimized apps that will drain your battery in 30 minutes, and apps that are outright dishonest about what they do. Missing optimization or apps for many big time websites. The Youtube app artifacts and lags randomly, and has done so for the past two years. The Kindle reader is broken and clips entire paragraphs. The Reddit reader was just silently abandoned after Microsoft hired the developer. Like using Gmail? Have fun navigating a downright annoying interface that will have you misclicking links from start until you put the phone down. The only available browser apps will take up 40-50% of your battery in an hour, browsing TEXT. You are stuck with Internet Explorer, not even Microsoft cares about Internet Explorer. There is absolutely no standard being enforced in the app store, I would dare to say 95% of companies have abandoned the Windows phone OS and refuse to develop for it. The only apps that aren't broken in one way or another must be paid for. Battery life is abysmal, less uptime than the iPhone 3G( released in 2008!)

Overall Review: I would rather have an iPhone 3g over this. This is like a counterfit of a smart-phone. It feels like a third world knockoff with zero support and lacking modern features. Microsoft is staying silent on compatibility for Windows 10 on the 925, so you can guess that means no support. It would be an absolute mistake to purchase this device.

Took 48 hours to get an item shipped I ordered on a Wednesday, so the item didn't actually get on the road until the following Monday. I have yet to receive a tracking number from Newegg or ElectronicsExpo despite receiving a message that the item was shipped. No tracking number in 2014? You have convinced me to take my business elsewhere. I've been with Newegg since 2006 and nothing like this has ever happened, disappointing.
