Pros: As the title states, it just works... All I had to do was plug it in to the empty pci-e 1x slot on my motherboard. Windows 7 64 bit automatically installed the drivers for the card, and set up my old HP 5L laserjet printer. I didn't even have to put the cd in the drive.

Cons: I dunno.. More expensive then a usb based parallel adapter?

Overall Review: I haven't tried the USB based adapters, but I have a feeling this card is more reliable, less fussy, and more likely to work with old parallel port scanners, external drives, licensing dongles, and such.
