Awesome Thermostats2/22/2021 12:27:44 PM

Pros: -Relatively easy install if you disable to power to your HVAC system before you hook it up. -Set it and forget it. -Very easy to use. -After 5 years, have been totally reliable.

Cons: -Don't make toast.

Overall Review: When I moved in to my current home, I bought two: one downstairs, one upstairs to match our two A/C units. Had to get a professional to do the initial install, but since, these truly have been set and forget units. It is awesome how they detect when someone is or is not in the room and adjust the temp accordingly. Would buy these again, no questions asked.

Amazing Case11/7/2019 8:06:15 AM

Pros: Sleek Scandinavian Aesthetics - love the smoked side window. Multiple configuration options for water cooling, drives, even monstrous video cards. Three included fans, three speed fan controller, and dust filters for everything but the rear fan. Plentiful wire management space and options. In all, the easiest case I have work with yet. 4 year Update: It is amazing how this case has performed. Still looks awesome, and all those filters are keeping the dust down inside. Fractal Design are my go to cases.

Cons: Is on the large side, but what do I expect for an ATX case.

Overall Review: My Rig: Fractal Design Arc Midi Intel Core i7 3770K ASRock Z77 Extreme4 Team Dark DDR3 1600 - 8 GB MSI GTX 960 ME Crucial MX100 256 GB SSD Samsung 320 GB Storage Drive Lite-On DVD-R RaijinTek 240MM Water Cooling - Green LED (3) Cougar Green LED Fans

Quality Fans11/7/2019 8:01:13 AM

Pros: Green color is a nice change over red and blue, prior to RGB, that is. Fans are quiet.

Cons: Doesn't cook bacon.

Overall Review: I have been running these fans for 4 years now, and they continue to give my system a nice green glow and very low noise. I have two on my rad and the third as a bottom intake. Would definitely use again.

No Surprise, great G.SKill memory5/29/2018 9:15:00 AM

Pros: Works very nicely with my ASRock Z77 Extreme4 motherboard. My system booted right up. Got in the bios and was able to set the memory right up to 2400. I think StarCraft2 picked up a few fames a second.

Cons: Doesn't make bacon.

Overall Review: Have had consistent good results with G.Skill.

Lovely Scandinavian Design5/4/2018 11:13:11 AM

Pros: Striking looks to go with top notch build quality and great functionality. This is the second Fractal Design I have worked with, and this one was as much of a pleasure to build as the last. Fabulous wire management, many HD mounting options, lots of sound deadening. Once the system was complete, I was amazed by how quietly it ran, even when under Prime95 testing. The Gunmetal finish is a nice change of pace from black.

Cons: One small issue - when installing he power supply, I broke one of the thumb screws that affix the PSU mounting bracket to the case. Must have been one weak screw, since I had no other issues with any other screws.

Overall Review: I used this case for a workstation build and proved to perfect for this. The solid side panel keeps the case looking clean, and all the sound deadening really works at keep this system quiet. I would buy this or any other Fractal Design case without any reservations. High Performance Motherboard with a High Performance Temprament4/21/2018 1:05:26 PM

Pros: Asus build quality, cool RGB lighting, connections galore, high performance features. Supports the Xeon E5 1650 for my customer's GIS mapping build.

Cons: High performance temperament, meaning very persnickety compatibility. The original Intel 545 M2 SSD and Toshiba 2 TB HD were not recognized by this motherboard. Asus compatibility list is from 2016, so many of the items on it are no longer available or very expensive. Only after I called Asus Support did I find out the only M2 drives supported are PCI-E. I locally sourced a Western Digital Black M2 256 GB SSD and 2 TB HD. Both play nice with this board

Overall Review: Do your homework before you buy this board. Helpful is to ensure your power supply has 8+4 connections. Check Asus for compatibility of your hard drives.

One Good, One Not So11/10/2016 6:51:32 AM

Pros: I have two of these. One is in my HTPC, the other is in my desktop. The HTPC is upstairs, my desktop downstairs, and the router is downstairs. -On the HTPC, drama free service. Connects and stays connected, gives all the speed my service allows. -Easy Installation, plays nice with Windows 7. -On my desktop, easy installations, seems to play nice with Windows 10 -Helpful and Responsive TP-Link support

Cons: -On my desktop, I have had multiple internet speed issues, and I have zeroed it in to the NIC. I have tried changing channels in the router, trying 5gHz instead of 2.4 gHz, adjusting the bandwidth and new drivers. Nothing thus far has fixed this intermittent issue.

Enough Router for Most Needs, Some Niggles11/10/2016 6:36:03 AM

Pros: -Enables wireless connection throughout most if not all of my 2 story, 4000 sq. ft. house. -Have 2 Nest thermostats, 5 tablets, 4 Phones, 3 Desktop PCs, 2 Laptops, 3 TVs, a blu-ray player and an X-Box One all connecting at one time or another, so dual band help split the devices. -Set-Up was easy, and TP Link Support has been very responsive and helpful.

Cons: Periodically have had to reboot it, and, at one point, it stopped allowing any devices to connect. Got a beta bios from TP Link and it seems to have been resolved those issues. The hassle is enough to deduct an Egg from an otherwise solid product.

Like an O Lineman11/10/2016 6:20:10 AM

Pros: Just works. Plays nice with Comcast, so save me paying them $10 a month for a modem.

Cons: Gets a little warm, but doesn't make toast.

Upated Review8/13/2016 6:20:06 PM

Pros: Looks awesome your case. Is keeping my Core i7 3770K nice and cool. I have a mild overclock on it to 4.2Ghz, and after 11 hours of Prime 95, the CPU temp was 80 degrees. If you use the bundled fans, they come prewired together. Price was good.

Cons: Had to add coolant once before. Contacted Rainjintek support, and they said it was normal to add coolant. However, I always have wondered where the coolant went. Today, I was adding coolant for a second time, and I found out. Water was leaking out at the base of the fittings on the water block. That my GPU has a back plate saved me, because water has been dripping on to the back of it. I wiped off dried green coolant of my GPU. As far as I can tell, my GTX 960 is none worse for the wear. That it leaked to me is the kiss of death. Do not buy.

Overall Review: To give more pop, I swapped the stock fans for 2 Cougar green LED fans. Great Addition to WMC HTPC1/13/2016 10:54:23 AM

Pros: Easy set up, gives the full TV remote, flippin' channels experience to WMC. Will also control Blu Ray and DVD playback in WinDVD and WMC.

Cons: Doesn't have a previous channel button. With a Keyboard, the space bar will take you to your last channel.

Overall Review: I know WMC is dead end, but a previous channel button would make this remote perfect.

Great Controller for PC Games1/13/2016 10:49:51 AM

Pros: Easy set up. Wired connection means no batteries or wireless connection hassles. Works great for Hungry Shark Evolution, Batman Arkham Assylum, and Crysis.

Cons: Cord is a little long. Doesn't work with every game.

Pros: Great performance at 1080, low power drawn, is extremely quiet. Then the aesthetics: green color scheme matches the them of my rig, customizable MSI logo, comes with a back plate, and the heat pipes make it look phenomenal through your side window. It is a limited edition card

Cons: Doesn't make toast.

Pros: Is on Comcast approved modem list, so activated with no issus. No $10 monthly modem free, so in 10 months, the cost will be made up. Wireless connected with no drama.

Cons: Haven't found any yet.

Awesome Option to the Cable Box1/10/2015 7:34:35 AM

Pros: If you want to have a more traditional cable TV experience through your media center, this card is the ticket. For pros: hassle free installation, configured easily with WMC, and works! I have service with Comcast, and cable card activation was problem free as well. How about no fees for DVR service and no extra cost for a cable box? Helps that I got the $25 off promo code, too.

Cons: Upon installation, WMC recognized 4 of the 6 tuners. Ceton support was prompt and on point: They told me to rerun the WMC TV set up, and, BAM!, 6 tuners.

Awesome Memory11/29/2014 12:33:31 PM

Pros: Works great right out of the box. Performance is significantly better than the 4GB DDR3 1866 I replaced it with. With that memory, Windows rated memory performance as 5.2. With the G.Skill, 7.2.

Cons: Doesn't make toast.

Solid Choice9/12/2014 7:25:55 PM

Pros: EVGA quality shown by solid feel and sleeved cables throughout. The cables are right sized - not too long, not too short. Plenty of connections as well.

Cons: Isn't modular, but I knew that going on.

Overall Review: For the price, I am impressed. This is a replacement PS for a client's rig.

Impressive Performance3/6/2014 1:41:40 PM

Pros: Easy install, noticeably performance improvement.

Cons: Doesn't bake bacon.

Overall Review: I used this in a system build for a client. He didn't want to deal with having an SSD and HD in his system, so I decided to add this drive. He gets the speedy boot times while seeing only one drive.

Great to Look at and Work With2/27/2014 9:27:59 AM

Pros: Fabulous looks, great wire management, roomy for mATX. Like the drive bays for both 2.5 and 3.5' drives - no need for an adapter for your SSD. All made for a very easy and pleasurable build.

Cons: Roomy for mATX means externally is it nearly as large as an ATX case. Additionally, the initial case I got was defective - the whole frame was twisted, so the front bezel didn't line up. Also, the front panel wouldn't seat. I won't deduct an Egg because NewEgg was extremely helpful with my RMA. Thanks for covering my return shipping!

Overall Review: This was a build for a client, but I would definitely consider this case for myself. Here is the build I did: Corsair Obsidian 350D Core i3 4340 ASRock H81M-HDS Kingston HyperX 8GB DDR3 1600 Western Digital Blue 1TB SanDisk ReadyCache 32 GB SSD Asus Blu Ray Corsair AF140 and AF120 Purple LED Fans Corsair CX500M PS.

Keeping my HTPC Cool1/10/2014 12:00:25 PM

Pros: Fits nicely in my Silverstone Milo ML-03B, relatively quiet.

Cons: None

Overall Review: This is cooling my A6-5400K, which for now is running at stock clock speeds. Since this is in my HTPC, I haven't seen the need to test it out through overclocking.

Works without a Hitch1/10/2014 11:55:41 AM

Pros: Gold plated, does what it is supposed to do, low price.

Cons: Wasn't free

Overall Review: I am using this to split the signal from my antenna. From the wall, it is antenna amp, then this splitter, and then one line into my HTPC and another directly to the TV.

Decent Budget Card1/6/2014 11:28:54 AM

Pros: XFX Quality that you can feel when you handle the card. Can be crossfired/dual graphics with AMD A6 APU, a process that, in my case, went very smoothly. Doesn't require a power connection. Fits in a half height case.

Cons: No high resolution/high settings gaming, but what do you expect for $50.

Overall Review: As you can tell from my pros, I do have this card running in dual graphics with my A6 5400K. I tested the set up with SC2, and I was able to run the game at 1280x800 with medium detail settings at about 65 fps. My next test will be to try it with HL2, since that is the one title I tried to run on my APU alone. For the Dual Graphics set up, I watched some tutorials on YouTube and followed the steps they showed about what to plug in when and the bios changes. After doing that, Windows and AMD Catalyst pretty much finished the Dual Graphics set up.

Buy It1/6/2014 11:19:21 AM

Pros: Excellent HD video quality that nearly equals the uncompressed HD my antenna brings in. Detected 73 channels from my antenna. Simple - 1 coax connector, easy installation. Just install the driver, and Windows Media Center will do the rest. Works seamlessly with WMC so that I can pause and rewind live TV and also record up to 2 shows at once.

Cons: Doesn't make breakfast.

Overall Review: This was the final part of my HTPC build, and I could not be more pleased with my decision, especially when I got it for $44.
