Great Gaming monitor3/18/2021 5:29:28 AM

Pros: - Accurate Colors - Super Speed IPS - No backlight bleed, low IPS glow - Very responsive and smooth gaming experience - 10 bit (8+FRC) - Monitors OSD is excellent - Game Assist (customizable crosshairs is cool feature) - I am able to use the "Speed" overdrive setting without any noticeable pixel ghosting or trailing...normally on other monitors the highest setting will induce this. I get the faster response times without the other issues =) - It's so fast you won't need to enable freesync or gsync

Cons: - Aim Assist......it's not that great, just don't use it.

Overall Review: In todays world, most monitors will use AU Optronic or LG panels. This particular monitor uses a panel made by Sharp and this is Sharps move into the high end gaming panel sector and so far I am pretty impressed. Buyers need to understand that this is a BGR IPS panel, not RGB IPS......all this means is that the sub pixel layout is reversed. This can cause text clarity issues for some folks which can be mostly solved by disabling Clear Text in the font settings of windows. I made this adjustment and in the monitors OSD I increased the sharpeness setting to 8 and I have zero text clarity issues. I bring this up because not many folks will know this nor understand it. They will simply return the monitor thinking there is an issue when there isn't. I encourage folks to read about the differences between a BGR vs RGB pixel layout. I have played with several different gaming monitors over the past year and I would rate this one as very comparable performance wise to the Acer XB273U GX. This is a very very very good gaming monitor.

Excellent 1440p gaming GPU12/21/2020 9:19:42 PM

Pros: - Very fast - Very cool, doesn't break 64c in my PC - Looks good with the RGB - Premium build quality is noticable - EVGA warranty and customer service

Cons: - Fans aren't completely silent but still very quiet considering this card is a monster

Overall Review: Overall this is a great video card. I upgraded from a EVGA 2080 XC Ultra to this and I am noticing around %20-30 gains depending on game and benchmark. Card runs cool which is always great. Don't expect this video card to be completely silent but it is still very quiet under loads. It is built to be overclocked and its default fan profiles are in line with this. This is seriously a great video card for 1440p gaming. Depending on settings I can range from 140-250fps in all the games I play and I even surpass 500fps in CSGO at times in max settings. If you want an excellent 1080p/1440p video card capable of driving high frame rates then this is an excellent choice.

Excellent GPU!12/8/2020 8:06:30 PM

Pros: -Quiet -Cool, under benchmark loads I couldn't get this thing to break 68c.....gaming temps for me run in the low 60's. -No coil whine -Comes with optional support bar to prevent sag -Looks good aesthetically

Cons: -no RGB lighting but that is ok with me

Overall Review: After some benchmarking and breaking this video card in tonight with some Battlefield 5 and a long session of PUBG I can say that this video card performs very well! This video card is replacing a EVGA 2080 XC Ultra video card and so far in benchmarks and gaming I am noticing around a %20-30 performance boost. I am pairing this with a new Acer Predator XB323U 170hz monitor and a new Intel 10850k and so far this is a super smooth and nice setup. No complaints so far.........Good Job MSI, nice product!

Bad card11/30/2020 3:51:22 PM

Pros: Looks cool

Cons: Bad out of box....not recognized by nvidia drivers initially, had to reinstall. Wouldn't detect correct refresh rate for my monitor and then after reboots there were lines all over my screen that I couldn't get rid of. Switched back to my 2080 and everything was fine. Will have to consider replacement options with newegg.

Overall Review: Not a good start for Gigabyte.......lots of critical reviews about software for RGB and then I get a bad one out of box.......... =(

Very pleased so far!10/12/2019 10:30:29 AM

Pros: - Screen looks great and is good size for gaming and watching video! - Fast! - Keyboard feels good and is responsive - Did not come with a ton of bloatware which is nice but there are apps that you might want to remove as it just fills harddrive space - Comes with two fans for cooling and they operate independently which is really good and can help with noise while working or playing within different apps. - The MSI app that allows you to configure your laptops performance is easy to use and allows for on the fly adjustments. - Speakers are surprisingly decent for a laptop

Cons: - The touchpad keys feel a little harder to press but doesn't really bother me as I will being using a mouse %90 of the time with this laptop anyways. - Battery life could be better but with the way I have it configured it was never going to be a super ECO power friendly setup to begin with =)

Overall Review: Overall this laptop fits the bill for what I am doing with it, some productivity but mainly for a little gaming and watching videos online while traveling for work. I will recommend to immediately update the Nvidia drivers and please! please! please! if you are gaming a lot make sure you go to the Nvidia Control Panel, Manage 3D Settings, and under global settings choose your Nvidia graphics card as the primary and change your Power Management Mode to maximum performance......do not leave it on "Auto" or "optimal power" otherwise you will get less performance in games. These laptop vendors and manufactures never tell people this and some people don't understand this and think their laptop isn't working correctly when in reality it is a simple setting adjustment.

Nice video card with tons of potential if Nvidia lives up to its hype!11/27/2018 7:41:39 AM

Pros: - It is fast! - This video card oozes quality. I am impressed with the new cooler and fans. - It runs very quiet! Big upgrade in acoustics from the older ACX 3.0 and ICX options that I messed with a while back. The default fan profile is an improvement from previous generations. - It runs cool! I use an older Cooler Master case with good airflow, 1 big 140mm Noctua fan in the front and a 80mm in the back. Top of case is vented via mesh film. Idle I am seeing temps around 38-41c....little warm but keep in mind the fans are not spinning until 55c. I ran Unigine Heaven and Valley benchmark at stock settings on 1440p res wtih extreme settings for 45 minutes each and I could not get the card to break 72c. It did very well. In games, I haven't seen it pass 62c yet.

Cons: - Price is a concern here. I get and understand the new RTX and DLSS technologies but I am not so sure those techs are worth an extra $150-200 over the 1080 Ti. This is where I took 1 egg off. If DLSS delivers what Nvidia is promising, then I can justify the additional cost. - Big video card! It's not long but it is thick, 2.75 slots thick. Make sure you have space beneath your primary PCI Express slot. - Uses stock PCB. For the price, I'd prefer to see a custom board personally but hey it is what it is.

Overall Review: I am running a 8700k at stock settings with 16gigs Corsair DDR4 3200Mhz, Asus Strix Z370 mobo. While all the benchmarks run great and some games are smooth as butter, I am noticing some choppy game play and some small stuttering in certain titles like PUBG and CS. This did not exist with my previous GTX 1080. I also noticed in Witcher 3 that while the entire environment looks amazing, Geralt seems to ghost a little bit when running around. I am thinking this is probably driver related? I know these cards are brand new so perhaps these things with resolve themselves with future driver releases? Do not buy this video card if you are running 1080p monitors. It's a waste of money. This is a perfect fit for high hz 1440p users or for users who are using 60hz 4k monitors. In my opinion, overall the Turing technology is promising but perhaps a little pre mature in its release. I am not a fan of the pricing but I think it would be justifiable if DLSS pans out the way its advertised. At this moment, I still think the 1080 Ti is probably the better buy but I am thinking the RTX 2080 will gain a lot of momentum with future driver releases and the implementation of DLSS in all the popular gaming titles. I feel confident that the gap will grow a lot between the 1080 Ti and the RTX 2080. **UPDATE - 27 Nov 2018** After using this video card now for several weeks I am still a happy user. The stuttering and ghosting issues I was experiencing are no longer an issue for me after a motherboard BIOS update and staying current with new graphic driver releases by Nvidia. Everything runs great and I am a satisfied customer. Although I still feel like I paid a little to much for this video card, I am upgrading my review from a 4 star to a 5 star. I'd like to see this video card priced closer to $800. Anyways, so far so good.....good job EVGA!

Freaking Awesome Display! - ***GONE BAD***8/14/2018 6:08:27 AM

Pros: - IPS panel is just awesome. Great colors compared to my old BenQ tn panel monitor. - Stylish design! - No backlight bleed on my screen! I've heard Acer's quality control is a step above their biggest competitor Asus. - Pricing is really good compared other brands. - G-Sync is great! I've been gaming on a BenQ 24 inch, 1080p, 144hz for a while now and once I got this Acer monitor and tried G-Sync, it just changed my gaming life!

Cons: - None

Overall Review: Acer has done an excellent job with this monitor. Some hardcore gamers will be hesitant to buy a 4ms monitor and will instead look to a 1ms TN panel. I did a lot of research before buying this monitor and the over all input lag and response time is actually faster than several other name brand gaming/esport grade 1ms TN panel based monitors. If you are worried about ghosting, ghosting is non-existent. I play a range of games from Skyrim and Diablo to CS and PUBG. I have a keen eye and I can not perceive any ghosting at all. With G-Sync enabled, it just gets even better. ***UPDATE*** (8-14-2018) The monitor started randomly cutting off on me less than 4 months after purchase. While frustrating, at least I have a backup monitor to go through the warranty process. I am very disappointed because the first Acer support rep I spoke with advertised a no cost and no shipping costs repair for me and I never received the email with the shipping label so I had to call back in and the 2nd support rep stated that I had to pay for shipping to send the monitor back to them for warranty repair. This is going to cost me $30-40 in shipping fees on top of what I already paid for the monitor. I appreciate the warranty, but I do not appreciate the false advertisement for free shipping by the first support rep....very misleading. I love the monitor but due to the failure of it and the misleading shipping info provided by support, I have to adjust my rating on this monitor accordingly..............from 5 star down to 1 star. Perhaps I will adjust it back up if Acer stands by it's original offer to cover shipping costs.

Great Product!11/27/2017 7:49:29 AM

Pros: -Paired well with my 8700K -For all those Noctua cpu cooler fans out there, it fits my Noctua NH-D14 just fine!! Of course you need to use low profile memory with the 14, the D15 will work too with taller memory modules. -Easy to install. IO plate on the back fits well. -Excellent XMP profiles! Accepted my Corsair DDR4 3200 LPX memory immediately. -Bios was easy to navigate. -Plenty of SATA ports. Make sure you read the manual to understand which SATA ports are sharing lanes. -Uses all USB3.0/1!!! You don't normally see this on a board in this price range.

Cons: -Fan controls are fine but I wish they were more intuitive. -Took an egg off because for some reason the built in audio card seems like it has a very very very slight hiss or buzz (feedback?). It's almost unnoticeable but when you are wearing noise cancelling headphones you can't help but hear it. I've tried updating drivers, replugging in my headphones, tried a different set of headphones, and the same result each time.

Overall Review: This motherboard is very nice to use. Very easy to install and setup. It offers a lot of SATA ports for plugging all your hard drives and plenty of USB 3.0 ports on the back. For the price point, the features of this board or more equal to a board that would be priced $50-$70 higher from other brands. I just wish I got a better binned chip for my 8700K as mine won't overclock very far and remain stable =/

Great look and excellent options...but defective motherboard and bios!11/17/2017 5:52:33 AM

Pros: Paired with 8700k and Corsair LPX DDR4 3000 -Offers excellent memory and XMP support -Fits my Noctua NH-D14 cooler -Easy to install -Plenty of SATA connections -Onboard audio is excellent!

Cons: -defective motherboard or bios for overclocking -fan control options in bios could be more intuitive -LAN port and drivers seem a little flaky, could be result of the defective mobo or bios.

Overall Review: -I am a seasoned computer builder and overclocker and normally go with another brand for motherboards but I wanted to jump out of my comfort zone and give MSI another try considering the Z170 and Z270 series received so much praise over the past few years. First boot into BIOS and I noticed that it was very easy to navigate. After adjusting some boot settings and installing windows I decided to venture back into the bios and do some small overclocks with the 8700K and that's when I noticed the BIOS wouldn't let me adjust clock ratios, ring ratios, voltage settings, pretty much anything to do with overclocking the cpu. The only thing I could do was the Game Boost and even then it didn't actually apply the boosted overclock. So I flashed the bios to the most recent .110 version that I downloaded from MSI's support page and this did not help. I can not adjust my 8700k in any way shape or form. -Noticed some small hangups while navigating in windows and other programs that were of concern. Ran some heavy CPU and memory benchmarks and diagnostics. All signs point to motherboard....perhaps this is related to my other issues in the bios?

MSI delivers another amazingly fast and quiet product!6/23/2016 7:17:57 AM

Pros: -Fast, very fast at stock clocks. -Very quiet! Fans do not kick in until 60c and when they do turn on, you don't hear them. I haven't observed the fans spinning faster than 1200 rpm under heavy benchmarking. Practically dead quiet.....can't hear it. -No coil whine!! Thanks you lord!!!! My 1st GTX 1080 was a EVGA SC and it had bad coil whine. This one is silent! Love it! -Runs very cool. I let the Heaven Benchmark 4.0 run at extreme settings for about 1 hour and this video card didn't sweat. Max temps it achieved as observed via MSI Afterburner was 70c. My case is closed and properly vented and I have ambient temps around 72 degrees F. The Twin Frozr cooler design delivers yet again! -Overclocks pretty well so far. I've kept the fans at stock settings and used MSI Afterburner to OC upto 2030mhz stable so far. Even OC'ed, the video card didn't break 72-73c. I am back at stock settings now as I really don't need to OC because I am 1080p gaming on a 144hz monitor and stock settings are more than enough. Love it!

Cons: -Can't find one, sorry! =)

Overall Review: I've owned the MSI GTX 770 Lightning and the MSI GTX 970 Gaming in the past and absolutely loved them. I've tried other brands but keep falling back to MSI because of their craftsmanship. They are always dependable, cool, quiet, and OC very well! I made the mistake of being impatient and jumping at the purchase of the EVGA GTX 1080 SC because it was available. I ended up returning it and waiting 2 weeks to get this MSI in my hands and I am so happy I did.

Ummm wow!6/22/2016 9:20:54 PM

Pros: -1ms response times -Good viewing angles surpisingly for a TN panel -Great colors, after calibrating.

Cons: -Colors are not that great out of the box, but once you calibrate the monitor they are terrific for a TN panel. I'd say %95 of what an IPS would provide you.

Overall Review: -Great monitor for gaming. I'd highly recommend this for gamers who have higher end video cards that can maintain a higher fps rate to match the 144hz. It makes for a buttery smooth gaming experience and BenQ checks all the right boxes to make sure this is a fun monitor. No complaints! I highly recommend this for any moderate to serious gamer!

Stylish Cooler with great cooling!6/9/2016 6:10:44 PM

Pros: - Cooler looks fantastic. It is not white as some might think, it's actually a brushed metal style. It will appeal to many! - Fans are quiet. Under load, I couldn't observe them breaking more than 1200rpm while running Heaven or Firestrike - Cooling is pretty darn good! It doesn't match up to the twin frozers that MSI provides, but its pretty darn good! Stocking settings, I was hitting around 76c in benchmarks in a closed case with ambient temps around 72 degrees F. - Very power efficient! I wasn't pulling more than 300-320 watts max from the wall with my current setup which includes a 6600K, 16 gigs mem, and a few harddrives. - Surprisingly powerful! FireStrike extreme, default settings and stock CPU settings, I was pulling 10,300 graphics scores. In 1080p, max Heaven, I was pulling close to 3000 at stock settings and I haven't even attempted to OC the card or my CPU yet!

Cons: - After running same basic benchmarks to see the capabilities of the video card and playing some games, I thought I noticed a slight buzz while the card was under load. It was very faint and surprised I heard it. Upon further investigation, I determined that the video card while under load (games or benchmarks) was giving a slight buzzing noisy as soon as it started sucking power. This was not the fan, I repeat not the fan. Fans are fantastic on this. My experiences with video cards and other electronics, when the start buzzing, something bad is getting ready to happen. I switched back to my MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4G and couldn't replicate the problem. So I called Newegg Premiere to see what they could do to help resolve the issue. They are taking good care of the situation and I'll have another 1080 in my hands before I know it!

Overall Review: - This video card is well built and very capable. I've worked around electronics and IT for many years and just know that small things like this can occur for no reason. I won't knock EVGA on this because it's almost certainly random. Don't let my experience discourage anyone from buying this video card. This version is certainly going to make %98 of the buyers very very very happy.

Fantastic Video Card!8/16/2013 7:27:58 AM

Pros: - Very fast! - Great build quality! - Quiet, very very quiet! - Runs cool!

Cons: - It is a big video card. Be sure your case can fit it!

Overall Review: I decided to upgrade from my reference EVGA GTX 670 because I wanted something that I could push a little further fps wise and I needed something that was slightly cooler and more quiet. I am a 1080p gamer and the 670 did a great job in all my games, but I wanted some additional fps gains in titles like FarCry3, DayZ, BF3, and Crysis 2 and 3. In max settings with the 670, it would dip below 60fps in some scenarios in certain games and I wanted to prevent that dip with out having to buy a 780 or a Titan. I did a lot of research and found that several hardware websites considered the MSI Lightning 770 a top pick due to its great out of the box overclock, excellent overclock ability, great cooler, how silent it was, and the quality of parts used to manufacture it. The average performance increase that I have seen over a reference 670 is about %14-%18 (or about 10-20fps depending on the game). In 3Dmark11, my 670 at stock settings would score around 8700, the MSI Lightning GTX 770 out of the box scored 10,500. I've managed to push that score up to 11k by doing some small overlocks using Afterbuner and boosting my CPU overclock up a extra 200mhz. I am sure I can push it further easily based off the little bit of testing I have done. This MSI 770 is amazing. I'd recommend it for any gamer looking for a solid video card to give you high performance for the next few years. You will not be let down!

Great Air Flow & Bad Hum Noise3/21/2013 5:48:21 AM

Pros: - Moves a ton of air, better than my stock Cooler Master fan

Cons: - Made a low pitched hum noise

Overall Review: - I bought 2 120mm and 1 140mm fan from Cougar, 2 out of the 3 fans had this low pitched hum noise that was driving me nuts. I am sending them back and will perhaps look at the Noctua fans that everybody seem to rave about.

Good Air Flow but Noisy3/21/2013 5:43:18 AM

Pros: - Moves a lot of air!! - This fan immediately lowered my case temps by about 3-4C . It does a fantastic job focusing air into your case and not just blowing it all over it.

Cons: - I bought 2 of these, and 1 of them was making a very low pitched hum noise. I also bought a V14H (140mm) for the front intake on my case and it made the same low pitched hum noise.

Overall Review: - These fans do a great job but 2 out of the 3 fans I bought had a low hum noise that was driving me nuts. I had to throw my stock Cooler Master fans back in my case. I am returning all of the Cougar fans I bought and will probably look at a Noctua fan instead.

Not Satisfied3/6/2013 7:41:58 PM

Pros: - Lots of cables - Voltages were perfect....couldn't ask for a better quality

Cons: - When system was idle, the fan in the psu was silent. When playing a game or something, the fan every 4-5 mins would rev up really high for a second and then wind down. It was very annoying. So annoying I am returning it and converting back to my HX750 which is flawless.

Overall Review: - I love corsair products and generally have no issues from them. However, lately I've had a corsair Force series SSD fail on me a few months back and now a out of the box fan issue with this psu. Either I am unlucky or corsair is starting to fall behind in quality.

Updated Review3/6/2013 7:27:59 AM

Pros: - 144hz!!! Amazing!!! - Enabling Lightboost with this thing is incredible, not that it isn't incredible without enabling it, but if your a old school CRT fan then Lightboost is for you! - Great colors and contrast out of the box! - Excellent price for a 2d/3d capable monitor compared to BenQ or other brands.

Cons: - Unfortunately, I ended up having to send my monitor back to newegg to swap it out. It started giving me pixelation issues! See other thoughts for what happened.

Overall Review: - After about 3 days of use on the monitor I started noticing moving green pixels while playing FPS games or runnng other graphic applications. I am running a GTX 670 SLI setup and my first thought was "O jeez, one of my cards is going bad!" After troubleshooting each card individualy and realizing they were working just fine and swapping out a older 60hz Asus VH236H monitor I owned to see if the issue could be replicated, Asus's tech support and I confirmed I got a bad apple. Thankfuly newegg and asus worked with me quickly and efficiently to diagnose the problem. Now, I am just waiting for newegg to send me a replacement. I've never had any issues with all the Asus products I've purchased over the past 15 years, so I won't knock them for what in my opinion is a isolated issue.

Lasted 2 months8/11/2012 9:01:54 AM

Pros: *This is a update from my previous review* - She will run any game out there at max settings in 1080p resolutions and just laugh along the way!!!

Cons: - The fan is a bit loud when the video card warms up - I started experiencing some artifacts, occasionally but it was still there - She died on me when it decided to not with any driver available and went into a boot loop.

Overall Review: EVGA seems to be very friendly with their tech support. I have a RMA setup for approval. Thankfully I had a older video card to fall back on until the RMA is completed.

Amazing SSD5/26/2012 6:08:08 PM

Pros: -Fast, very fast

Cons: -Fast, very very fast..............o this is the con field. I can't think of anything!

Overall Review: I finally took a dive into the SSD world and I am extremely happy I did. How can I be upset with a 10-15 sec boot time!

Glorious PSU!5/26/2012 6:05:18 PM

Pros: -Very efficient PSU -Quiet -Supplies more than enough power for %90 of computer builds out there

Cons: Price was a little high at $150 but I really can't complain to much. It's one of the best PSU's you can obtain today. I won't knock a egg off for this =)

Overall Review: I am running 3 harddrives, a GTX 670, Asus mobo, and a OC'ed 3570k and this PSU just laughs at me. I swear I heard it snickering at me the day I build my machine. There is plenty of room for expansion in the future should I throw another GTX 670 for SLI.

Works as advertiised!5/26/2012 5:59:54 PM

Pros: Quiet and Cool

Cons: I little big but most great coolers are!

Overall Review: This was a fantastic buy/price for a great product. I am running a OC'ed i5 3570 at 4Ghz stable with idle temps around 32C and when gaming it might jump up in the high 30's and maybe even touch 40C. I coupled this cooler with Arctic Silver 5 compound ($11 a tube but worth it!!)

Great CPU5/25/2012 5:54:29 AM

Pros: Works as advertised!!

Cons: None that I see!

Overall Review: I have a initial OC to 4Ghz and will probably bump it up to 4.4Ghz in the near future. Prime95 ran for 12 hours and was perfect. This processor has been bouncing between tempatures of 30-35C while idle and upto 40C while gaming( GTX 670 running Skyrim, BF3, CoD series, and Diablo 3 max settings). I am using the Hyper 212 Evo cooler with arctic silver 5 compound. I'd say this CPU is running pretty cool and I am very pleased with it.

Pretty Good5/25/2012 5:45:19 AM

Pros: - Came installed with latest bios version - Provides a lot of user friendly software for monitoring and tweaking - Plugged everything in to the mobo and it all worked on 1st boot

Cons: - Wish it came with a easy tutorial on how to use the OC software - It didn't recognize my Corsair Vengence memory as 1600mhz. I had to manualy bump it up in the bios. Not worth taking a egg off, this is a easy fix.

Overall Review: This mother board was a very easy and flawless install. Asus never ceases to amaze me with how well their products operate. It took me a day or so of tinkering with their AI software to figure out how to use it for OC'ing. I ended up bumping my 3570k up to 4ghz in the bios ( I could easily go higher and probably will go up to 4.4ghz range). I personally wouldn't use the presets for OC'ing. You will be better off in my opinion using the bios or the manual OC'ing software it comes with.

Best case for the $$$5/22/2012 4:49:09 PM

Pros: - Very affordable and a very appealing case!! - Easy to work inside of - Provides all the screws and gadgets you need to install your equipment

Cons: Doesn't walk my dog

Overall Review: This case does provide the rubber grommets! Some pics show the case without them, but rest assured they do come with the case! Also, Cooler Master did include a fan filter for the PSU. This case is not as heavy as some people make it out to be in previous reviews. I can tell you this case isn't made of non durable plastic parts. Its a quality metal built case that will survive multiple builds over the years. I haven't used the video card cooler they provide with the case, but it seems neat and could possibly help those with heat issues with their video cards. I think this case is a fantastic choice from a reputable vendor that will do the trick for %90 of computer builds out there.

Fantastic Monitor!5/22/2012 4:36:24 PM

Pros: - Light Weight (great for people who move around a lot) - Excellent picture quality in regards to clarity and colors - Great response time of 2ms - Offers inputs for VGA, DVI, and HDMI - LED and uses less power than my old CRT - Affordable!!

Cons: There are no negatives that I can see

Overall Review: Some people have complained about the stand being wobbly. I have not had this issue. The stand seems to be pretty stable. This is a very bright screen. Regardless of the picture mode that you are in or how you customize your settings, you will end up with a very bright and vivid picture. I personally like this since I like to watch movies and play games on my computer and I enjoy
