Works great and fast!
Pros: Went with ASUS A88x-Pro FM2+ and Kaveri for buils a sort of future proof AMD build. It's a screamer compared to my old Athlon 2700XP that was 12 years old. Running 2400 MHZ RAM with this, and an ADATA SSD from my old machine with SolusOS linux (Debian based). Everything working, fan not noisy for me - only hear it when doing a high overclock when playing around.
Cons: None, except I wish the iGPU had higher specs. It's fine for now. I may eventually add an external GPU (or two) if Carrizo doesn't get up into the R9 series video. This is not slow by any means for my use, I am not a heavy gamer.
Overall Review: Right now AMD is offering beta R7 video drivers for Kaveri running linux, which works ok from what I've read, but I haven't even loaded the beta drivers. I'm running totally stock on Linux. Phoronix says the Release drivers will be out in February for Linux, so I will install them when they are available. Works great, less filling.
Lot's of nice features, 2 issues
Pros: This board has all of the features I was looking for. 3 PCi-e slots, 2 M.2 sockets, etc. overall a pretty useful and useaable board. Great price also.
Cons: Two issues with the board are that it occasionally has loud audio glitches(static) out of the blue when I use it. It's loud and sometimes makes me jump. The other issue is that it has never shut down when using Windows 10 through all of Windows 10 updates, this board does not shut down properly. i have to hold the power button and count to 18 and then it shuts off. I am running Ubuntu also, which shuts off the computer perfectly every time. I suppose it could be a Windows issue, also.
Overall Review: Good board with two faults that ruin perfection.
No onbaord HDMI or VGA displaying with A10-7850k or with a discrete video card
Pros: Nice looking little board. First ASROCK MB and I had high hopes.
Cons: 1. No display, not even BIOS. No way to configure settings. 2. The SATA motherboard connectors contact the end of my double slot video card, so the two upright (of 4 total) SATA ports are not usable. You cannot use right angle SATA connectors in the vertical connectors on the MB as they face each other (duh) 3. No manual except online. DVD doesn't help as computer disassembled Online manual the worst I've seen. 4. Minimal silkscreening on motherboard to identify various connectors.
Overall Review: Skip this one folks.
