Great portable drive
Pros: I didnt think this thing was going to be small, its twice as wide as my thumb and just as long...and only 1/4" thick. I dont really care about the speeds, I just wanted to get off of a backup mechanical drive that takes a long time to spool up and get access to the pictures, video and backup applications and this thing works great. Best yet, I can put this in my vehicle and use it as a music library without having to use my phone, small enough to just hide it somewhere, and nobody will most likely be interested in stealing something so small. This alone makes it worth it to me.
Cons: Not really a con, but the drive contains links to get promotional software for photo storage, Adobe Acrobat Pro 1 month subscription and Mylio photo. Theres a link for Mylio, but takes you directly to a promo code prompt that they didnt give you on the package or link to. This isnt really nothing since Im only storing music and anime on mine.
Overall Review: It comes USB-C standardized, so beware with that. Its small, will be easy to lose if you arent careful with it, and its about double the size of a thumb drive, so might not actually be worth it if all you want is something for transportable storage with similar speeds thats not nearly as expensive as this.
Its a great laptop for the price
Pros: Very first off is the looks of this laptop. It has a kevlar/carbon fiber graphic palm rest (not sure if thats what its actually made out of), and the LEDs accent the keyboard and design perfectly. The monitor is awesome! It plays video smoothly, and while testing Unigine Valley benchmark, didnt notice any stuttering whatsoever except when the video card lagged on certain scene loads...and only then briefly. But other than that... The last few reviews Ive read about this laptop mention both the keyboard and touch pad. There is nothing wrong with the keyboard and track pad in and of themselves; they are what they are. Dont expect them to be made out of titanium, they arent mechanical keys, and the touch pad is there for you in case you forgot your mouse. They work just fine. Its a budget gaming laptop. Not that there arent a few cons to this.... I forgot to mention that the speakers are phenomenal for a laptop. Ive had many laptops in my days; never had one that sounded this good with its own onboard sound system. It has a ton of bass, mids and treble; quite easily the best thing about this laptop.
Cons: For an SSD drive, it loads pretty slowly. Booting up Windows 10 doesnt take long, but loading up any games takes a little bit of time. Granted they arent M.2 drives, but not really an egg loss. The HDD works just fine. Ethernet adapter doesnt seem to be functional on mine. I tried connecting it to different cables through my modem, and yep its borked on mine. Wifi works just fine. I docked 2 eggs for this, but I can get online for now with Wifi. This is a barebones laptop: no bag, no manuals, no CDs (doesnt even come with a Cd/DVD burner to my dismay...) but just a laptop and charging cable. No big deal to me though, this laptop isnt going anywhere. I am very surprised this doesnt come with an optical drive, but I guess thats the new wave of the future. One last issue with this was whoever shipped this item to me didnt package this as well as they should have. Had this not been a review product, I wouldnt have accepted this because they only placed 1 bubble bag to prevent the box from moving around, and we all know how great UPS is at handling their cargo; but maybe UPS had to repackage this on the fly, so I dont know who did what. Please be more careful with shipping high value parts.
Overall Review: Unigine Valley benchmark score: 61.8 FPS, Score 2587, min FPS 18, Max FPS 110.3 3D Mark score : P7233 @ 1280x720. Couldnt test at 1920x1080 because the card isnt up to the task. Dont expect this laptop to function well for VR if you even think of trying to do just this. For gaming online, this is an excellent laptop, but you shouldnt expect to be playing Grand Theft Auto 5 at max settings; at best youll play this at 1280x720 and get playable frames. It plays Modern Warfare 2 at max settings at 1280x720 without stuttering. Im not disappointed in its performance, just in the bad ethernet port.
Awesome design for an RGB fan
Pros: hese things daisy chain - aka they join at the hip without cables to attach except the first one. Saves a LOT of hassle, aggravation and headaches with cable routing. The more fans you have, the better off these are. You could comfortably run 12-15 fans off this system and clean your case out for good, which is what these fans are great for. Cable management finally comes to its senses with RGB.
Cons: They arent compatible with the older icue hub; you need to have corsair link to get these to work. The only way these things are worth using is if you have more than 3 fans to link up, and then hol-y (really?) cow they are worth their weight in gold. As a single pack, no bueno - bigger ordeal than they are worth. Best way to run them is 3 in a pack, use another link cable to another 3 pack, and so forth until your case is full. Beware, it will get expensive. EXPENSIVE. EXPENSIVEEEEE.
Overall Review: One one hand, these things are a godsend when it comes to cable managing, RGB layouts and power consumption. On the other hand, the price per unit is...excessive IMO. What money you spend on these fans make up for the hassle on the back side of the case, but at the end of the day its still just a fan.
Great for cable management, but...
Pros: Its easy to hide and manage on a routing since you dont have to go very far with it. The one place I was able to use it was too narrow for me to fit it in so its squeezed in there in kind of an awkward angle.
Cons: Not for tight spaces for the most part. You get one 90 degree angle + one straight, you're bound to run into issues. A 90 degree connector on both sides would have been perfect.
Overall Review: Know your case before using this cable. Unless you are making short runs in open spaces, this cable is great for behind the motherboard work.
Better than they need to be, still not perfect
Pros: Absolutely love the idea these things daisy chain together. This absolutely helps keeping cable management tight...all those RGB cables add up, especially since all the other fans have 3 cables. So far, I have 6 QX fans - 3x 120mm and 3x140mm all daisy chained. Thats 12-18 cables that isnt tying up any space in the back end! All it needs is just one cable to the link, one power cable on the link, and a USB 2.0 header pin and you're golden. Loving them so far... Im not using the Corsair iCue software for the most part, Im using SignalRGB. But I do still use iCue for basic reasons, so it was easy to plug and play with the colors. I just dont bother with it for the most part.
Cons: I have a Corsair H170i Elite LCD 420mm AIO that does NOT plug into this thing. I replaced the fans I had for this with the 140mm QX fans - still need the link and the icue just to run the pump and fans. It would have been nice to see something where I can link the LCD screen up to link and thats cluttering up the back of my case right this second. Thats irritating. Right now its way more net positive just doing it this way, but I had to knock an egg off for this. Sorry, I have 3 USB 2.0 splitters in use just for corsair products when it should only be the one.
Overall Review: Maybe someday they will figure something out to merge the two...and if theres a solution already that doesnt involve running 2 different corsair management hubs in the back of the case, Id like to know about it. PLEASE FIX THAT AND YOU WILL HAVE ALL OF MY BUSINESS!@@@R%#$
Updating my review...
Pros: Im running a slightly older gaming system...still fast compared to modern computers, but its still a few years old. So with that in mind, this drive still functions on an older Intel i7 z370 motherboard with pci-e 3.0. It not being a pci-e 4.0 is definitely slowing my drive down, but its still extremely fast - faster than the SSD drive it replaced. Ill be taking this out and putting my 2tb back in because I need the storage space, but Ill definitely be swapping out my other WD M2 my O/S resides on.
Cons: After 1 month and moving over to the new build, the drive failed. I had it loaded with Windows 11, posted it, and after a few days the drive failed. All my other M2 drives work perfectly.
Overall Review: New system: Intel i9 13900k Asus z790 Hero Asus TUF RTX3080ti Asus Thor 1000w P2 2x WD M2 drives, 1 Samsung 970 NVMe.
Buyer Beware, Brand Store DIRECT is a thief
