pretty dope

G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3 2133 (PC3 17000) Desktop Memory Model F3-2133C10D-16GXM
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3 2133 (PC3 17000) Desktop Memory Model F3-2133C10D-16GXM

Pros: -easy install (it's ram) -set up on my ASUS A88X-PRO MOBO was easy, just hit enable DOCP Profile 2 in bios and shows 1066 MHz in AMD overdrive -faster than my 32gb mix bag of ram i had before. (didn't realize it was potentially a problem at the time) -look dope AF -1033MHz and CAS 10 vs 800MHz and CAS 11 ram i used before of varied cheap-o brands

Cons: -i didn't order another 2 sticks... but i looked at what i use my computer for and i only utilize like 2gb so 32gb is overkill, so no real issue. -no real cons

Overall Review: -before this i just bought whatever ram was cheapest and kind of mixed and matched to fill my slots. now i'm older and wiser i realize its not all about the capacity. i dont use more than one screen or do serious overclocking or leave a million tabs open in chrome so 16gb should be plenty

decent RAM so far

GeIL EVO POTENZA 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 3000 (PC4 24000) Desktop Memory Model GPR416GB3000C16ADC
GeIL EVO POTENZA 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 3000 (PC4 24000) Desktop Memory Model GPR416GB3000C16ADC

Pros: 3133 MHz stable with the advertised timings. Plugged in and no issues and no set up really as this was upgrading my setup from 16gb to 32gb. Aside from some issues i ran into that were unrelated (see below)

Cons: the set I got was Samsung B die, I actually thought it was going to be Micron B die when I ordered it but the timings are the same as the other set. Not really a con but I saw some reviews for GeIL saying it was Micron B. I guess Samsung is supposed to be better? shouldn't matter though. That's the Silicon lottery though.

Overall Review: Overall good price for what it is. No issues really, just plug'n play. Unrelated directly to this product. I did a BIOS update to the Asus 3003 bios on my B450-f MB and i couldn't get it to boot with anything higher than 2133 MHz, so I had to go back to 2901. The issue was the BIOS not the ram, more just an FYI to anyone with an Asus B450-f board to stick to the 2901 BIOS until they get that figured out. on 2901 I overclocked this ram to 3133MHz (this was the highest stable my other set could take so didn't try any more)

its RAM

Ballistix Sport LT 16GB Kit (8GBx2) DDR4 3000 MT/s (PC4-24000) SR x8 DIMM 288-Pin Memory - BLS2K8G4D30BESBK (Gray)
Ballistix Sport LT 16GB Kit (8GBx2) DDR4 3000 MT/s (PC4-24000) SR x8 DIMM 288-Pin Memory - BLS2K8G4D30BESBK (Gray)

Pros: cheap, no frills ram. 3000mhz using xmp or whatever they call it (otherwise clocks at 2400). even though not on the compatibility list for my mbd it still works just fine.

Cons: none really.

Overall Review: maybe not the best choice for overclocking. (not my interest anyway). i will likely get another two sticks when i can. but for most things 16gb is enough.

Excellent so far

ASUS ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING AM4 AMD B450 SATA 6Gb/s ATX AMD Motherboard
ASUS ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING AM4 AMD B450 SATA 6Gb/s ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: everything works great. got this for Ryzen 5 3600 and once i had everything set up correctly it is fast and just works. i like the looks too

Cons: required bios update before 3600 would work, luckily i had a friend with a 2700 so i was able to do it without waiting for AMD upgrade kit.

Overall Review: another annoyance: i got an NVMe for the boot drive and wanted to use the m2_2 slot rather than m2_1 (my thinking was to spread things out for heat dissipation), while this "technically" works, it would not boot directly to windows without me entering the bios and explicitly selecting the drive, also hardware virtualization would not work correctly when using this slot. this may just be me being dumb, but i don't think it should matter which slot i use, i guessed that was the problem and after switching to the m2_1 slot it works flawlessly. nothing in the manual says anything about this so it was a frustrating process. not worth an egg but fyi.

Zune is getting better

Microsoft - 16GB Zune HD (BLACK)
Microsoft - 16GB Zune HD (BLACK)

Pros: HD screen is amazing, haven't had a chance to use the HD radio yet but that too is bound to be a great leap forward for mp3/mp4 players. Zune has also added a simple equalizer to this player which is nice BUT would like to see a full equalizer (maybe an app?). sound quality is by far better than my 8gb Zune Flash. Zune Pass is like free music almost. Newegg's shipping is way fast.

Cons: Web browser: what the heck? i can't watch YouTube? this is ridiculous. but i think that Microsoft will have an update. i would have liked to see the web browser as an app or something. the claim that it is a "full browser" is false advertising. Zune should have just used windows media player instead of the Zune software. there are only 15 apps.

Overall Review: Zune HD's screen is just barely smaller than the Ipod touch, however the HD screen makes up for the size difference. really you have 2 choices: get a 16gb Zune HD for $175. or get a Ipod Nano for $175. to me the choice is clear.
