Pros: Fits exactly between the RAM and other components. Mounted to blow the dissipated heat directly towards and through the large rear exhaust fan in the case (2.75" distant). So no longer does the ambient heat from the CPU standard fan heat up the RAM which can cause poor performance and sometimes a BSOD. [the full tower case has 3 intake 120mm fans and 4 -120mm fans out (three at the top of the be quiet! case and one at the back. Power supply draws from the bottom and directly out through the back)]
It comes 'pre-pasted' with thermal paste, so no worries there about getting the right amount or distribution. Though the manufacturer recommends removing the mainboard before installing the cooler, being lazy as I am, I managed it while it was all still in the full tower [be quiet!] case (which I also thoroughly enjoy.. dead silent).
When running games the CPU and mainboard would reach temps of 167F+. Now, after the installation, those same programs max at 125F. Better performance, longer life. And at a great price.
It arrives with all the mounting parts required for either Intel, or AMD CPU. All precisely made to fit exactly. Well packaged.
Cons: None yet.
Overall Review: I would recommend this to anyone looking to get better operating temps, on a budget, and not needing maximum cooling power of fluid cooling systems. This cooler operates and installs exactly as expected.
Pros: It arrived. It is not so fast. It needed
Cons: It is not so fast. It needed an adapter to to be installed, as the 860 pin configuration did not match my MSI (Newegg) mainboard. It seems runs very hot. My mainboard temps jumped 55F since I installed it. When trying to register the product, the number would not be accepted. The tech on the phone told me to use the number reported by their proprietary data transfer software 'Magic'. Using this number, I was still unable to register the product. Looking on the Samsung website, using the dropdowns to identify the product, with all their other EVO devices listed, the 860 was glaringly missing from the list. As if Samsung has walked away from the product (chronic issues perhaps?) and disavows that they ever had it in the array of choices. So now I have a hot, slow drive, not eligible for return (via Newegg clasification on my 'orders' page) and disowned by Samsung. This of course appears as textbook rippoff: selling defective products, then denying that it ever happened. So, as expected, it is now simply unused, and a waste of money (approx $100 +$48 adapter).
A pattern emerges. This is just how it went with a Samsung Bluetooth headset I purchased at Newegg some years ago. When it proved defective after two weeks, I found it was not listed on the Samsung webpage, not even in legacy products. Just not there, as if it never happened. When I called Samsung, as soon as I mentioned the model #, they simply sent a replacement, no questions asked. Just "what address?", and sent it along. It also failed in 9 months. Looking online I noticed many stores selling this $149 Bluetooth for as little as $10; obviously liquidating stock for however much they could get. Clearly Samsung disavows their known-defective products (a reported trait at Samsung: denial), and retailers dump them at discount prices. I have read this same experience with Samsung from many others, when searching the net.
Overall Review: I would not only *not* recommend this product, I would strongly warn against it. If it was just a defect, well this happens. No big deal. But when the manufacturer denies they ever made it, it is a warning to look elsewhere. I recommend that before buying Samsung products, look first online at the Samsung website, and see if it is actually listed there. My two Samsung purchases through Newegg were not. And now I know why.
Pros: Powerful connections for me at home. After a year of seeing for myself at home, how well this works, I gave one to my daughter and her family for their house where they had spotty connectivity to the various Wi-Fi connected items. Now they are all smiles. Across the whole house on two levels, everyone stays connected.
Pros: ● Responds to voice commands - big time saver when using it often
● Gives voice direction - familiar to those who are accustomed to being told how to drive by a woman.
● LMT model gets free updates for road changes - a big plus when driving near major highway construction
● Big, clear image
● Excellent mounting hardware - easily adjustable and the unit disconnects easily to take with you when leaving the vehicle
● Split-screen view of lanes is helpful when in confusing, or intertwining, lanes at interchanges.
● Traffic monitoring allows the Nuvi to determine fastest route, avoiding traffic incidents and heavy highway traffic. A real time saver. Just as I wonder why it directs to an odd route, it explains (in voice) that the redirection is saving [x] minutes due to incident avoidance. So, even though I know the roads well, I cannot always see all delays on the highway, until I am stuck waiting in one. The Nuvi helps me to avoid these huge time-wasters.
● Hands-free speakerphone access to the Bluetooth-connected phone is a big safety plus
Highway Safety reports that 80% of all highway accidents are due to drivers being unfamiliar with lanes, exits and interchanges. So it is possible that the navigator makes the car and driver that much safer on the roadway. I know that for me, it does reduce the stress of trying to follow a printed map.
Cons: Does not always understand what I am saying. (I probably need to speak more clearly.)
Gives lane positioning directions a little late at times. (Probably due to surrounding structures blocking signal.)
Overall Review: I would recommend this item
I would give it as a gift
Pros: Fast shipping, good price on sale ($75); good looking; well designed interior space; great cable management; big quiet pre-installed fans (2), rubber cushioning where any chance of vibration might make noise (along side the power supply, the hard drive bays and mountings, all flat side surfaces. Fully -and easily- removable drive bays (thumb screws where ever useful, and plenty of screws for installing drives, provided with the case; front panel, easy access phono jacks; 2 USB3 ports; indicator lights and reset button. Though it comes with two fans pre-installed, and controlled by a front panel speed control (3 speeds), it allows for adding a third fan to the controller. However the case allows for additional fans to be installed, front and top. Depending on the size of the fan, you can install two or three fans on the front, as well as 2/3 on the top. I added one more to the front and three on the top. The flat top of the case is actually openable, in that you can raise it to one of two possible levels (or leave it off all together I suppose), allowing for fan-driven air to escape. Even then, as this is how mine is setup (just got it yesterday and built the PC today) the thing is amazingly quiet. Alongside my desk, with a total of five large fans, I am reminded that it is running because i can see the front indicator lights. ;-)
This is a 'can't go wrong' purchase, with features I've seen in cases selling for $40-60 more.
Sturdy, solid, quiet. What's not to like?
Cons: I can't think of one.
Pros: Arrived, a bit late; but it arrived. Tracking was inaccurate
Cons: Needs massive updating, and that doesn't go smoothly. Not at all.
If you've ever had a nightmare MS update, this is the portkey to the place where those things are born. In the hands of a certified Microsoft Partner (to whom it was given), it has proven an embarrasment to me to have ever given as a gift. He did, however, get it working and configured.
Overall Review: My first -refurb- purchase from Newegg ended up at the curb in a couple of weeks. It had the same problem that turned it into a refurb in the first place: failure to read the BlueRay discs in the drive.
After a couple of years, I decided to try it once again. After all, it was certified as Grade-A.
So maybe it will be 3-5 years and I'll try Newegg's idea of what 'refurbished' actually means: "closeley inspected (moreso that first-run product); problems effectively diagnosed and repaired; then fixed." So far, none of that seems to be the case. Or my multiple experiences have been unique.
UPDATE: It is now working
Pros: Worked for a little while
Cons: Stopped working in less than a year, after repeatedly 'blinking out'. Today, it failed completely. Windows no longer sees any monitor connected from that adapter. Only sees now the other two.
Overall Review: Cheap is usually cheap because it is cheaply made with no thought to durable quality. IN the end, usually you get no more than you pay for. Items are discounted because few will pay more for products that fail. For a failed product, working less than a year, any price is too much.
Pros: Works as advertised. Takes up no space, Indicator light is useful to verify connection.
Pros: A great tool that works very well. After downloading the free interface from GooglePlay store onto my Android phone, I was able to see all the results of the onboard computer's analyses of my Honda's performance. A great way to adjust for best fuel efficiency, and also to prep for state emissions inspection, where required. Wish I had this 20 years ago. And for $o much less that other diagnostic software/hardware. The low price alone gave me concern that it might be useless; but the professionals who reviewed it convinced me otherwise. I am glad that I listened to my wisdom in trusting those reviews.
I couldn't be more pleased.
Cons: I left ti connected after I left the car for a week. The battery was dead when I returned. Not sure if this is correlated, but considering that it is seeking a BT connection to operate, that may have been the 'straw that broke the camel's back' on a weak battery. Not sure. But now it stays tucked away, conveniently, and unobtrusively, in the glove box for quick access
Overall Review: The seller was faster than expected in delivery. Simple and fast, coupled with inexpensive, caused me to confidently recommend this to many friends, as a must-have tool.
Pros: Fits almost anywhere. Super easy to use. When it works, it's good.
Cons: Doesn't always get all local channels consistently. Often local channels will freeze. Others, within 10-15 miles say that the signal is not strong enough. I am in the city, yet the broadcast towers, 6-8 miles away, do not always, consistently, reach this unit. Missing the punch line of a joke, or the whodunnit statement ion a mystery, as a result of a frozen signal, gets old pretty fast. So I am still looking for a better model.
Overall Review: For cheap it's OK. No one gives great stuff away for cheap. Seriously
Pros: Easily installs. Insert drive;
connect to plugs mounted on the inside of the end cap. Place the end cap in position and insert two screws.
Insert the supplied USB cord and connect to the computer. Plug in and connect the supplied power adapter.
Put the rear mounted power switch to the ON position.
Watch your PC instantly recognize the drive.
For years I have had several unusable IDE drives with data I could no longer access. This solution has now made all of these drives as part of my PC. I couldn't be happier with how well this worked. I recommended that my son (sent him the link), who shares the same problem, buy as many as he needs. This is a great way to end what has been a nagging pain.
Overall Review: I would buy as many as I would require, and would highly recommend to my friends, who have learned to trust me to be critical of everything.
Pros: So often a light source is powered by a line switch. FO rme, I must always reach down/in/around something to get to that switch, as not every outlet is switched. This simple solution allows me to keep one at the entry and one on the second floor. Now, upon entering, I can illuminate any of multiple lights, and when I forget to turn off a light downstairs before going to bed, I can do so remotely from the top of the stairs. It is the little improvements that increase the ease of living. This is definitely one of them.
Inexpensive and easy to use.
A friend came by and saw these. He spent thousands having remote, low voltage switches installed in his house. Though these are not the same thing, the functionality is similar. He took a moment to absorb that, what I had gave me much of what he had, but for less than he paid in sales tax.
Overall Review: I wouldn't hesitate to get as many of these as I could find useful.
Pros: Whenever I would visit my daughter, for a family gathering, everyone was looking for a place to plug in their chargers. This simple solution allows everyone to sit on the large sectional couch and all plug in while watching a movie, or updating Facebook. One power cord feeds five devices, and no waiting in line for an outlet or charger. Not only does my daughter like it, but so do all of her guests. The perfect low-cost gift to make a smile.
Overall Review: Every home today would benefit have at least one.
Pros: Perfectly performs according to its design, keeping headphone wires from tangling, and readily available, stuffed into jacket, backpack or back pocket. It was gift for my granddaughter, when I watched her try to untangle her headphone wires. She's pleased, and so am I.
Overall Review: Would buy repeatedly for anyone who has this problem. An inexpensive way to create smiles.
Easily fits into a kitchen drawer for storing.
Simple design uses a downward press of the thumb on the variable speed wheel, to release the two (40% undersized from standard) beaters from their sockets.
Easy to operate.
Better than hand mixing; and thorough mixing produces better results.
For my purposes, this is adequate. With no pun intended, it is very handy.
Cons: Smaller than standard, and resultantly, should not be relied on, to a good job with mixtures heavier than frosting for a cake. or pancake batter or something similar. Heavier loads cause it to get warm, and smell like something is burning. Otherwise it is adequate.
For heavier mixing jobs, a heavier mixer would be a better choice.
The power cord is of a stiff plastic.
Pros: As expected. Typical quality of an average cable. Cheap price.
Cons: Took so long to arrive, I bought the item locally, and put the cables, which arrived in the mail, into my box of spare parts.
Overall Review: Savings which originate in products shipping from China, but only ship after an order is placed by the consumer, can take a very long time to arrive. This works when the items are for long term plans, and whenever they arrive is ok. If you need it relatively soon, best to buy things which are already on the continent.
Pros: A good solid connection is a well-fitting plug. Just enough lead cable to be easy to manipulate behind the PC. Good connections on both ends. Very handy to have around. Inexpensive solution.
The unit was delivered quickly and arrived in my mailbox. Doesn't get more convenient than that.
Pros: Expecting it to sound like it looks... small, like a cell phone, I was surprised at how much fuller the sound was which came from this speaker. HiFi? no. Loud enough to enjoy as a substitute for a good sound system? Surprisingly, more than adequate. Not a lot of money, but a lot more sound than one could expect from something this small. I liked it so much I am gifting it to someone who will really appreciate this ingenious little bit of tech. As reported by a few others, if you listen closely, it does pick up extraneous static and occasional crackle. It is minor, and I only heard it because I listened for it, having read this negative about it in previous reviews. If it happened in my Denon, I would be concerned. In this little beauty, it's not worth mentioning.
Cons: The packaging is so small that, putting the unit back into the box causes the power switch to move to the 'on' position. Nothing to be alarmed about; but if you want to give it as a gift, fully charged and ready to go, it is good to be aware.
Pros: Lots of program involvement, but of the multiple channels, demonstrating audio prowess, only track #2 actually performs any cleaning operation. Includes a fun demo of what your sound system can produce, though your own musical selections probably do the same thing.
Cons: After using it approx. 12 times, the skipping-ahead on multiple CD's, which was the purpose of the purchase, was reduced by about 50%. CD's still skip, just about half as often. Rather than run automatically, it is necessary to manually advance through the various tracks. It was disappointing.
Pros: Great features. Decent audio for a smaller space; especially if you do not want to disturb others, yet have the enjoyment of a full sounding audio spectrum when enjoying a movie or audio stream. With Pandora and Netflix included in the menu choices, being entertained is fairly simple.
Cons: The processor is pretty slow. So sometimes you might think it was non-functioning. Then it will finally react to your selection on the remote.
Why this was a refurb I have now discovered. After about 4 uses, the DVD player loses the ability to read, and hangs up in a seek cycle, disabling the entire system, as well as the remote. The only function that will operate at that point, is [POWER OFF]. So I assume that the refurb process consists of "get it going well enough to get out the door." After the 30days of warranty, you'll find out why. As it happens, I never set this up until a few weeks ago, long after the expiration of the warranty. Had I done so immediately, I might have a replacement. But instead, I got to use it 5 times in 13 days before it failed. I placed the failing DVD into the PC and it plays perfectly.
Overall Review: For $40 is was worth the gamble to find out if a Newegg refurb was a good gamble. In my experience, not so much. But for only $40 I found out not to ever buy refurb again.
Pros: It is small and takes up little counter space. It toasts bread/bagels, etc..
It will cook anything that can be cooked in 15 minutes.
It was only $13, so throwing it into the garbage was not a painful thing to do.
Cons: It has a 15 minute limit on the timer. 20-30 minute dishes must be cooked some other way.
The finish is paint; mine is white and permanently yellowed around the opening, from burning toast on its inaugural use.
The entire exterior gets as hot as the interior, so it is IMPERRATIVE that this unit be pulled away from the wall when using it, or the heat of the case will eventually damage the power cord, and cause a dangerous situation.
If it were my responsibility at Newegg, I would recall these things. There cannot be enough profit in the sale of a $13 toaster, to cover loss of reputation, and the expense of a liability lawsuit that someone might readily bring, from using this, as one might use any toaster oven, found in a store.
Overall Review: Good for short cooking times, low budget and extra cautious users, who are not too fussy about long term good looks. All in all, it serves its purpose.
If you have no high expectations, then you will not be disappointed.
Pros: When space it limited, this is the best way to get the versatility of an all-around toaster oven a with a small footprint. As a gift to my daughter, it was a big hit. "Just what I wanted!" is always good to hear. ;-)
Pros: Brilliant colors, soft silk and hand edged finish make this wearable art a great gift, and a versatile accent to any wardrobe. My wife commented on how it could add great color to a neutral outfit and with style. She was more than pleased; and that, of course was great for me, too.
Pros: No, it's not a full sound system. Yes, it will surprise you how much good quality sound can come from such a small unit. The convenience of such a small device, complete with a suction-cup base to keep it from getting knocked around, makes it easy to place this speaker nearly anywhere and have background music that isn't annoying due to poor quality. For such a small device, the sound was more than satisfactory for delivering ambient music, where you don't want to overpower the conversation, yet want to enjoy the music stream wirelessly, with control at your fingertips.
I never tested the 33' distance. which the manufacturer claims the VIBE can receive, but it allows your phone with Pandora, your tablet or laptop/PC with your library to continuously stream your favorites to wherever you want them, and in a water resistant, soft feel plastic enclosure. With easy to press volume controls, as well as a pause/play button all on the front and easy to access, the VIBE leaves nothing to be wanted more from this clever design.
Pros: Perfect coffee. Perfect. No bitterness at all, as advertised. I always would us a little sugar or chocolate syrup in my coffee... for over 45 years. I now use nothing. The coffee tastes that good.
Now, the follow up: having called DealYard regarding the minor defect I mentioned in my previous review... the minor defect causing the major problem, they worked hard to help me solve the problem. When all efforts failed (all within a span of 2 hours of returned phone calls), the customer service person decided to send me a new machine, at no charge, not even for shipping.
Needless to say, this is the perfect dealer/store. It quickly became apparent that DealYard means to keep their customers and knows that, to keep them, they must keep them happy. And that's exactly what they did. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again in the future, or to recommend them to anyone. DealYard customer service people and policies can only make my friends trust my recommendations even more.
And I am sending one of these coffee makers to my parents as a gift. I know that they will enjoy such delicious coffee, as much as I do.
Excellent technology working perfectly. Excellent fulfillment team, working perfectly. A perfect combination.
Cons: not one now
Overall Review: Any dealer/store who respects their customers, as DealYard showed to me, can only grow in success.
