Good Fan, Little Loud

Delta PFC1212DE PFC122DE 12cm 12038 12V 4.8A 6500rpm super high wind volume Fan
Delta PFC1212DE PFC122DE 12cm 12038 12V 4.8A 6500rpm super high wind volume Fan

Pros: This will keep your case really cool, even running on lower speeds. Also responds well to PWM settings.

Cons: Not very quiet on lower speeds. Probably want to run any system running this in a closet or somewhere where the latent noise can be dampened. This fan also is much thicker than a regular fan, so the clearance tolerances might force you to customize your case.

Overall Review: Good fan, just need to consider clearances and noise.

Update - Head-Parking Issue

Western Digital Scorpio Blue WD3200BPVT 320GB 5400 RPM 8MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 2.5" Internal Notebook Hard Drive Bare Drive
Western Digital Scorpio Blue WD3200BPVT 320GB 5400 RPM 8MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 2.5" Internal Notebook Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: Still love the device as a product. See what I put in my original review.

Cons: Taking 2 points off my rating because WD's head parking policy has cause my device to start crashing. Had to install a program to disable the APM feature in order to get it to start working properly again. ACER probably had this feature disabled on my original harddrive from factory, which would explain why I just now started experiencing it.

Nice Case, Nice Price

DIYPC DIY-A1-W White Tempered Glass USB 3.0 ATX Mid Tower Computer Case with 1 x 120mm White Fan x Rear Pre-installed
DIYPC DIY-A1-W White Tempered Glass USB 3.0 ATX Mid Tower Computer Case with 1 x 120mm White Fan x Rear Pre-installed

Pros: The clearances in this case are ideal for most of the standard parts that are out there, less water cooling radiators and maybe an older disc drive. The case itself looks snappy like a more expensive one might. Lots of options for mounting smaller drives and bigger fans. Has five fan bays for all your system fans within reasonable reach of the motherboard tray. Good USB and IO on the front. Price is right for the features.

Cons: This case is not designed for is holding a non-modular PSU, although it can be done because I managed to. You'd have to mount a radiator for a water cooler to the top of the case and the clearance might be insufficient if the motherboard has tall heat syncs standing off the board around the top left corner. In order to fit it, you'd probably have to get a smaller motherboard and mount it further down in the case. My disc drive also ran into my full sized ATX motherboard, though it is an older disc drive. You either need a shorter disc drive or a smaller motherboard to fit one in this case.

Overall Review: Overall, this is a lot of value for the money. If you have the parts that fit in a mid tower, this one is nice looking and has a moderate amount of room. Not bad.

Pros: -Runs Smooth -Great Specs For The Price -Metal Construction Feels Sturdy

Cons: -None So Far

Overall Review: In addition to getting this laptop at a great price, the rebate actually came in. I'm impressed because I've never had a company just give it to me without me having to beg them to fulfill it. MSi is definitely who you want to do business with when it comes to mid to high end laptops.

Didn't Fit My MicroATX Motherboard

GELID Solutions CC-Shero-01-A 120mm Hydro CPU Cooler
GELID Solutions CC-Shero-01-A 120mm Hydro CPU Cooler

Pros: Looks sweet, low-profile, very neat design; Probably a great product.

Cons: Wasn't compatible with the back-shield that came with my motherboard, also was too large for a MicroATX build; the radiator was blocking my memory slots.

Overall Review: If the radiator stood up off the motherboard more, it would have been a less appealing product to full size ATX buyers, but it also would have been compatible with MicroATX motherboards. Would also be nice if there was a kit to install without having to remove the back shield that provides additional dissipation so many manufacturers are including with their motherboards these days.

Didn't Work

MOTOROLA SB6120 Cable Modem SURFboard eXtreme 160Mbps in DOCSIS mode and 195Mbps in EuroDOCSIS mode Ethernet Port DOCSIS 3.0
MOTOROLA SB6120 Cable Modem SURFboard eXtreme 160Mbps in DOCSIS mode and 195Mbps in EuroDOCSIS mode Ethernet Port DOCSIS 3.0

Pros: None.

Cons: Firmware seems to be an ongoing problem with every ISP. I had what seems to be the standard reaction from Comcast when after a day the stupid thing got kicked off the network, permamently. Most likely in limbo because the MAC ID is already in use. There's 10 different ways for this thing to get bricked for every 1 way for it to work. Definitely not worth the risk. About to RMA it.

Overall Review: Comcast tech didn't even know to change my IPV4 settings since I'd been on a static IP before I moved and it pushed this a week out. You really need to count on your ISP techs not knowing anything about networking before your install date. Be sure to read up on your modems before you buy them too.
