Pros: It worksit's small
Cons: they do lock up occasionally
Overall Review: You don't always need a cisco switch... You have 1 jack and a few computers and this wil take care of the situation.
Pros: I have yet to plug in a device that these won't charge. I am getting a dozen of these to put on the desk of the photographers and reporters.
Cons: The six outlet unit is a little bulky for on the Desk usage and the USB ports are not nearly as convenient when these are under the desk/tucked away.
Pros: It works. I have it on my desktop and managed to eliminate a six outlet strip with an array of chargers/adapters plugged in.
Cons: It's not too bit though it seems like it could be a little smaller. Wish the usb outlets were autosensing and/or quick charge compatible.
Pros: It arrived
Cons: This is listed as a 2 and 1 .... There is negligible information on either the product number or the model on hp's site
Numerous review sites state the following
"The tablet itself available for purchase separately as the standalone HP Pro Tablet 612. "
By using the model name of the unit with keyboard and not including an image or specifying tablet only newegg is engaging in deceptive sales practices.
(note: i honestly believe the image was there with the keyboard and they took down the image but it's possible I remembered it from my research else where)
Overall Review: I want a refund
Will settle for store credit or the keyboard this unit should include.
Pros: Purchased 10/11. Died 09/15.
Cons: Purchased 10/11. Died 09/15.
Pros: Fairly easy to install if you have access to the back of the motherboard. Kept APU cool enough to keep overclock. I would probably only give this 4 stars but at the price it's a bargain.
Cons: The fan mounts to the heat sink with 4 soft rubber brackets that slip into channels in the heat sink fins. Each bracket seems move in its channel fairly easily so it doesn't seem to be a secure mounting, however the four of them appear to do the job.
Overall Review: I had to replace a busted 3.5 year old thermaltake water cooler on an over clocked A8-3850. I no longer had the original heat sink brackets from the motherboard. I was hoping I could just screw the mounts for this into the backplane from the water cooler. Unfortunately this was not the case. Motherboard tray had cutouts that allowed easy access to remove and replace the backplane without having to remove the motherboard. I was going to disable the overclock, but temps were still reasonable so I kept it. I'm not sure about the thermal paste that came with it but was out of arctic silver so used it anyway.
Pros: Works, Fairly easy to pair to phones or computer. Shows up as "Headphones" and as "Handsfree Device" on my pc. When "Headphones" is active sound is ok, but mic doesn't work. When "Handsfree Device" is active mic works but sound quality sucks (speakers and mic).
Excellent range when paired to pc. I can sit on toilet 30' away and listen to pc.
Sound quality on phone ok but mic sounds like you're in a well.
Cons: I got this as a shell shocker and figured I'd try it for gaming. Horrible sound quality with setup with mic working. Gave to my daughter so she could listen to movies on the PC and it worked ok.
There is very little in the way of padding or adjustment. Can be uncomfortable.
Pros: Purchased 3 in early 2013. Didn't pay much. One worked fine for about 10 months. One worked fine for 13 months. One is still working.
Cons: Has a lifetime warranty. To use the warranty you must ship the cards back to Taiwan and they must receive the shipment in less than 14 days from the day you get the rma.
It would cost about $9 to ship with an estimated delivery date 10 days out. The cards only cost $13 new ... Not worth it to get back a replacement product I cant trust.
Overall Review: Works and has a lifetime warranty but my next purchase will be from a company with a US address.
Pros: Performed as expected for 25 months.
Sold as having 3yr warranty.
Cons: System hung during normal operation. Upon reboot drive failed during post and the horrible click of death could be heard.
When I contacted Seagate about a warranty replacement I was informed the drive was out of warranty. Apparently it was manufactured when the policy was a 1 year warranty but was sold after Seagate changed to a 3 year warranty
Overall Review: I've contacted Seagate. We will see.
Pros: Worked as a wireless bridge to connect a small business lan to the wifi hotspot provided by a cell phone. As long as the phone kept the connection up the network was stable.
Has a lot of options as to how to set it up (wireless access point, network bridge, etc.)
Cons: Unfortunately when the phone lost internet connectivity it also lost connection with the TP-Link. It would not reconnect without resetting the TP-Link and walking through the setup again.
Overall Review: Time Warner left a client without internet access for 30-60 days. Using the TP-LINK I was able to bridge their lan to a Galaxy s3 running as a hotspot.
Pros: Works as a Mini USB cable.
Cons: This is a mini usb 2.0 cable. It is mislabeled as a "Micro" USB cable and if you are not paying attention you might buy it as such.
Pros: Performance is a definite plus. Using this tablet is just buttery smooth.
I'm going to try out the HDR camera in a low light setting today but so are it seems to be a good camera considering the 5Mp sensor and no flash.
The OS is a good clean install of android without a lot of bloatware installed.
The stylus works better than any other I've tried and I love that it slides inside the tablet.
Speakers sound good enough to use the tablet without headphones or a bt speaker if you're in a quiet environment
Cons: Everybody's mentioned it but the ports need work. Usb cable never feel like they're seated properly and if you try to put it in backwards you don't get the sense that its going in backwards, just that you need to finagle it a little bit which could lead to a broken connector (see other reviews)
The front facing camera is junk. Its barely adequate for skype as long as the person at the other end already know what you look like
I would have like to have seen a led light/flash for the rear facing camera. The HDR options make the camera usable but don't throw away your camera.
Pros: First problem with this model dive.
Cons: Loud clicking noises from drive during startup and machine hung during drive detection.
Other 3TB work fine. Replacement drive works fine.
Overall Review: 4egg review on replacement drive (to keep it balanced). Don't like paying for return shipping on DOA merchadise. IF it's DOA then either the supplier or newegg should have to eat the cost. Other than that excellent service on RMA.
Pros: Good board, Usually decent performance. Saw a big jump in performance when I upgraded to 16G Ram. Also saw a big performance jumb when I changed the boot drive to OCZ vertex plus sata II drive. Upgrading to a Vertex3 resulted in almost no performance increase.
Graphics performance is Ok for multimedia and budget gaming.
Cons: System is stable running catalyst versions 11.x but crashes every 5-25 minutes running any of the 12.x versions.
Pros: Works out of the box ... Sort of
Great Specs ...
Nice easy to use default firmware.
Extremely hard to brick. A hard reset will restore default bios even after a corrupt/incomplete flash.
DD-WRT Compatible ... Sort of ... See Below
This should be an awesome router at a good price if either the default bios or DD-WRT lived up to their potential on it. Obviously other people have had good results so I have to assume it's just me.
Cons: The default firmware that came with the router was easy to use, had a nice layout (if somewhat unconventional) but I could not get pinholes/port forwarding to work. I could use the DMZ feature but I didnt want to leave my server wide open and I needed to forward different ports to different PC's. Wireless worked fine but overall I was disappointed with the throughput of machines connected to this box. (note latest bios (as of 5/2011) has fixed the pinhole issue but the bad throughput is even worse connecting to a machine through a pinhole.)
Despite long experience with DD-WRT I was unable to get wireless to work consistently on my router despite hours of troubleshooting with DD-WRT experts and people using the same router. Throughput (wireless and wired wan->lan and lan->lan) was much better with DD-WRT but even when I would get wireless to work within a few hours I would start having problems again.
Overall Review: Was in the market to replace my WRT54G (upgraded to DD-WRT) with something that was wireless N compatible. I do computer consulting and have a dozen workstations, servers, laptops, and consoles around my house. The ASUS got positive reviews. I am tempted to blame my experience on a bad piece of hardware, but functions that didn't work with the asus bios, worked with DD-WRT and vice-versa. If it was a hardware issue I would expect a problem to occur regardless of the bios installed.
I ended up going back to the wrt54g for several months until asus finally got the pinhole/port forwarding issue resolved in their bios. I tried the latest DD-WRT builds (Generic and specifically for my router) recently and still had the same issues with wireless.
Pros: Put this drive in an older dell 1501 and was thrilled with the performance boost. Add in the fact that the drive has a five year warranty as opposed the the slower "blue" series and you really get more value for your money. Recently replaced my 1501 with an HP DV7 that came with a 5400rpm 500g hard drive and now I'm seriously considering swapping drives between the two systems.
Overall Review: For a one time use to replace your old drive I've always used acronis' true image home edition. It should be noted that WD has a "WD" edition of the same software on their site that is free and not time limited as long as you have a WD drive present in your system.
Pros: Assembly was straightforward and completed swiftly. Connection to host pc was smooth on win 7, vista, and XP.
Cons: Performance was about a third what you would see with a SATA connection but was not unreasonable for a USB drive. The case acts as a heat sink for the drive and can get quite warm during operation.
Overall Review: Would be nice to have the option to draw power off a second usb connection but the AC adapter is fine.
Pros: Bought this as an open box item. Was really worried about what I was going to receive but was pleasantly surprised. Included vga, dvi, and hdmi cable. There are no stuck or dead pixels and overall picture quality is good. Has built in speakers (see cons). Considering what I paid the monitor size and quality is exceptional. At newegg's normal price this monitor is still a decent value.
Cons: I haven't decided if this monitor is a little too blue or if the old 19" samsung I have next to it is a little too yellow. Plan to borrow a color calibrator. Back light has a lot of bleed through around the bottom of the screen. It's very noticeable during movies or other times when the screen is black. I have a very cheap set of speakers hooked up to my system. I thought I would eliminate some desk clutter and use the built in speakers in the monitor. I had to set the system volume to 100% and the speaker volume to 90% in order for the sound to be audible when at the desktop. Raising the speaker volume higher caused too much distortion. Don't expect to be able to use the included speakers to listen to music or watch movies from across the room.
Overall Review: Was the first item I've ever ordered from newegg that didn't arrive earlier than expected. Delivered in retail shipping box which was beat all to hell. Luckily contents were complete and undamaged.
Pros: If the card worked according to spec then it would be a great value - IR receiver and IR Blaster - FM Tuner - Beyond TV
Cons: I installed the card, drivers, and beyond TV... Installation was straight forward but reception was horrible. The beyond TV installation came with a 90 day subscription to the program guide, but the subscription did not work as it was for beyond tv 3.5 and is no longer supported...
Overall Review: When I removed the card I noticed one of capacitors was bent back and only one lead was making contact... I do not know if this is the cause of my reception problem but I will be replacing it with an ATI or Kworld Card... Each of which preform well in their respective price ranges.
