No, it won't make noise like a dentist drill
Pros: To the poster below that said: Cons: Although there are no moving parts, it does make a near-continuous high-pitched noise. It's not super loud, but I can consistently hear it above the fan noise in my new machine. It is similar in pitch to a dentist's drill, which I find irritating.
Cons: Immediately turn off your PC, open it back up, locate the cable that you inadvertently pushed into a fan (likely your CPU fan) and relocate it.
Overall Review: If your going to ignore a major tell-tale problem like this, perhaps you should take your PC to a more experienced friend/professional.
Pros: Great server. I installed a X3430 2.40Ghz (quad core xeon) CPU, An intel 2.5" SSDs fit perfectly with an 'icy-dock' adapter (also sold on newegg). Server works with 4 sticks of the Kingston (KVR1333D3E9SK2/4G) ram as expresscoco stated below.
Cons: There are 6 memory slots, but you can not fill all 6 with the memory i listed in the 'Pros'. In order to use all 6 slots you must purchase RDIMM ram, and when you install it, the motherboard will limit the ram speed to 800MHZ (instead of 1333). There are tables in the motherboard manual that explain this, poorly.
Overall Review: Ignore the extra 2 memory slots, dropping from a ram speed of 1333 to 800 just is not worth it.
