Workd fine - tight fit

SYSONIC HDA10/B HDMI (M) – DVI (F) Adapter
SYSONIC HDA10/B HDMI (M) – DVI (F) Adapter

Pros: Good solid adaptor at a great price

Cons: none

Overall Review: Using this on the back of my Directv HD receiver w/ HDMI out. Connecting to Samsung DLP TV. Since the DVI side of this adaptor is twice the size of HDMI this may not fit into a crowded back panel - say with multiple HDMIs in a row. Use an adaptor cable then.

Set up is a challenge

Pros: Saw my upload speed increase to 900 kbps from about 700 kbps is was getting with the Motorola modem. Downloads are the same now at about 4.8 Mbps. I hope the DLink 'trains' up higher over the next days.

Cons: No good instructions for set up - especially for use with a router. I've set up another DSL modem for Verizon service. Learned that you have to get the new modem to send ID and PW or no service. I got the DLink to do this by going through the auto setup before including the router. Do setup again with modem bridged to the router - without LAN IP address issues - and it worked.

Overall Review: I have ATT service Replacing a Motorola modem the was over a yr. old and dropping out more - power cord reset gets old. Using a DLink DI - 624 router. I should have got D-Link DSL-2640B unit for $10 more. Haven't tried but it has got to be easier to set up.

Gateway Desktop PC SX Series SX2850-01 Intel Core i3 540 (3.06GHz) 4GB DDR3 1TB HDD Intel HD Graphics Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

Pros: Very fast and quite.

Cons: minor drawbacks - keyboard and mouse are too small for my hands. Using my old HP keyboard

Overall Review: Small size makes it handy right behind my monitor - can reach the ports and memory card reader slots. Uses less electrical power than a full size PC

Good Price/performance

D-Link WDA-2320 Rangebooster G Desktop Adapter IEEE 802.11b/g PCI Up to 108Mbps Wireless Data Rates

Pros: Good overall. One thing it beats the other brands of low-cost adaptors at (Netgear and Linksys) is data throughput at both excellent and just good received signal strength levels.

Cons: Little slow to relink after PC comes out of standby.

Overall Review: Using WDA-2320 with a D - Link DI-624 wireless AP / router.

Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD2500KS 250GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: Using this in an external USB enclosure. Can't hear it except at power up/down. Enclosure doesn't warm except during formatting, then barely.

Cons: None

Overall Review: This drive doesn't waste any power on generating heat or making noise - it's a 'Green' product.
