You get what you pay for
Pros: Good clean looks, desktop-friendly size with enough room inside for most ATX boards, decent 120mm fan, good power supply if you're not SLI, usual Antec attention to detail with included mounts, screws, drive vibration bezels, etc.
Cons: Like everything in life, you get what you pay for...with that in mind, you get 100% plastic front cover, an interior that rivals the lowest-cost cases available, snap-off PCI/x slot covers with just barely enough support for cards, screwdriver gymnastics required for drives, poor placement of front USB ports in the middle of the case, no front sound/1394, but you already knew that from carefully reading the specs (right?). Bottom line, if you are NOT going to use the power supply, there are better Antec cases out there.
Overall Review: AMD SanDiego 3.7, Asus A8N-E, XFX 7600GT, 2xKVR400X64C3A/1G, Audigy, 2xSamsung SATA2 250 RAID1+0. Lots of HP for well under a grand with Tax/Shipping. BTW Newegg delivered everything next business day, even though I only paid for std. 3 day shipping.
Dead in 2 months
Pros: Decent performance at a low price point for a 16GB flash drive.
Cons: Failed after 2 months of light use with no physical damage to USB connector. Will no longer function on 3 different systems with XP SP2/3 where other flash drives work fine. The only warning I received was intermittent USB Device Manager failures the day before it finally gave out. Due to the confidential nature of the data, its not worth RMA'ing the product to save a few dollars.
Overall Review: Sticking with XPorters and Flash Voyagers from here.
Great Windows 7 Pro Business Laptop
Pros: Mine looks brand new...with the understanding this is a 5+ year old Dell Latitude 6000 series that never was a beauty contest winner. Very solid notebook build. Exceptional keyboard and mouse that you actually want to use. Windows 7 Pro. No bloatware. No dongles to attach if you want to watch a DVD or connect to a projector or external monitor.
Cons: Windows Update Service sometimes has issues with Refurbished Windows 7 Pro SP1 systems. After entering a valid Windows 7 Serial number it will just search endlessly for updates. The fix: Go to support.microsoft.com. Download and Install KB3102810. This will update the wuaueng.dll to 7.6.7601.19046 which (as of December, 2016) allows for proper updates.
Overall Review: This is my 2nd refurbished Windows 7 Dell Notebook from JoySystems in the past year. I am 2:2 on receiving a high quality laptop.
Dead In 2 Months - OCZ support response
Pros: Quick response from OCZ on Newegg offering to replace a dead USB flash drive containing confidential data.
Cons: Unfortunately OCZ Support has not offered an acceptable solution. As stated to OCZ, due to the sensitive nature of the data, it is not possible to return the original product. Per company policy, the drive must be completely destroyed.
Overall Review: Replaced defective unit with a new Patriot XPorter 16GB USB drive. Although they aren't as pretty (and a few mm thicker), they are much more durable. Also, as usual, Newegg's exceptional service is greatly appreciated. FYI - OCZ RMA Instructions: The original OCZ product has to arrive at our warehouse within 15 days after the RMA number is issued. Clearly write your RMA number on the package using a black marker. Also, include a copy of this RMA information sheet inside your package. Please include a copy of your original receipt if possible. Secure the product by using at least two inches of bubble wrap or foam. OCZ recommends shipping using a traceable courier, such as Federal Express or UPS. OCZ will not be responsible for lost RMA packages.
Three letters: R M A
Pros: Cute tri-color illuminated middle mouse and Optical tracking DPI indicators. Amazing Brand Name: Wolf King Trooper. Made in China. Stellar 'perfect' reviews.
Cons: 'Value' plastic construction, short USB cable. Cheap laser that drifts erratically on any surface, using any suitable driver, on any XP SP2 or 3 rig.
Overall Review: I thought this would be a good, low-cost replacement for the 2nd G5 I have destroyed in 4 months from FPS angst. I was wolftroopered.
Pros: Decent performance for the price and capacity. Sustained write throughput @ 2.0MB/sec (FAT32 format) compares favorably to a 2GB Patriot XporterXT @ 2.4MB/sec (FAT). Does not obstruct an adjacent USB port. At the time of this writing, no rebate forms to fill out.
Cons: Within 2 weeks I expect that either the cap will be lost or the Male-Female cap holder will snap off the keychain.
