BEST 680 MADE!!!

MSI GeForce GTX 680 2GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 SLI Support Video Card N680GTX Lightning
MSI GeForce GTX 680 2GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 SLI Support Video Card N680GTX Lightning

Pros: Can't say enough great things about this game shredder! I read every review and comparison tests for months. Hard to justify replacing a fairly new Gigabyte GTX570 O.C. already. Just built new Gamer. This card is Perfect for the MSI Z77 MPOWER MB!!! BIG BANG, Black & Yellow matches perfect. That's just a bonus. The reason behind it was the performance. (Runs 1202Mhz) right out of the box. Don't know why it's under-rated at 1176Mhz? The blue LEDs ate a nice touch. Two roes on top. Five light at idle, then all 12 when game loads and jumps from 1110Mhz to 1202Mhz. Temp stays down around 36°c with everything maxed. This is my 5th gamer build. First time I used MSI, and don't think I'll ever use anything else again. Flashing BIOS was always nerve racking before. With LiveUpdate5, just click Download & Install, and done. MSI SUITE and all the programs MSI created to make everything plug n play are a necessity now. Dual BIOS switch, AFTERBURNER, Quiet, simply the Best

Cons: Yah Right... People who complain about the blue LED lights... People who see the card, read the reviews, know exactly what they're ordering, then complain about minor superficial stuff. People who would find a gold coin, then complain that it's too heavy & shiny!!!

Overall Review: All the numbers on the 680's are so close. This card runs at 1202Mhz stock. Voltage & everything can be unlocked for overclocking. I don't plan on O.C.n at this point. Just made sure it would. Running CoD Black Ops 2 on 24" LED, everything maxed & running steady over 200fps. Hit 380fps in single player. The L.M.G. on rapid fire with air strikes and everything happening at same time, never drags down. That's the only hit the old GTX570 would take. Sometimes would slow down. Internet could be better, but definitely see gains with this 680 over 570, worth $500. Four of us got different 680's, they're returning and getting mine. If anyone is building a new rig, I promise the MSI MPOWER Z77 MB & this Lightning work together & look better than any combo out there!!! H100i with Blue LED above card's blue LED looks AMAZING! Add Samsung PRO SSD 258Gb, WD Blk 1.0Tb for everything Except games, Enermax 1250w, i5-3570k 4200Ghz default o.c. with this MB. Corsair 600T, Perfect case, window & grill.

Forget trying 4 4 4 12

CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model TWIN2X2048-6400C4

Pros: It works.

Cons: Tried to set it at 4-4-4-12-2T, like it's rated and listed. Crashed computer, had to reset CMOS. Same thing with voltage set to 2.1v. Over-heated, then crashed... With new ASUS M2N-SLI DELUXE MB. Sticks only run at 800mhz 5-5-5-18 2T @ 1.8v Friends with Kingston Hyper X have no problems. Extremely disappointed. Bought 4 x 1G. Put 2G back in box.

Overall Review: Fine if you just leave it alone and don't even think about overclocking, ot even setting it to the listed spec.s

Awesome Runs steady 4200ghz

Intel Core i5-3570K - Core i5 3rd Gen Ivy Bridge Quad-Core 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) LGA 1155 77W Intel HD Graphics 4000 Desktop Processor - BX80637I53570K
Intel Core i5-3570K - Core i5 3rd Gen Ivy Bridge Quad-Core 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) LGA 1155 77W Intel HD Graphics 4000 Desktop Processor - BX80637I53570K

Pros: New build. Switched from AMD this time. Put on MSI MPOWER Z77. Love that MB. Spent months reading everything. With 1 push of OC button runs i5-3570k at 100.5 x 42= 4200ghz But only when needed... Drops to standard 3.4 when idle or low load. As soon as start gaming stays 4200 & with H100i stays in 40's. Fans set to max at 50°c automatically. Haven't messes with any manual O.C.my MSI MPOWER MB sets everything. Voltage fluctuates on cpu & ram as needed. No crashes and on 24" LED running 1920 x 1080 Black Ops 2 runs 135+ fps. And thats on older Gigabyte GTX 570 running stock. Really comes down to complete system. MB, CPU, H100i, Samsung Pro 256 SSD, Enermax 1,250 PSU, Corsair 600T, Ripjaw, WD HDD Black 1.0T, Ultimate Gamer Rig-$2,000 Now GTX 4G 680...

Cons: None.... Shoulda been under $200

Overall Review: Really tough not just throwing another $100 at it and getn the i7-3770k That's gas for about 4 days in my 4x4's But this is Top per $ and just clocks steady at 4200 Get i7 in 6 months when price drops. Too many thousands in closet as is of year old parts...

Still think Best PSU's

ENERMAX NAXN 82+ ENM750AWT 750 W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply
ENERMAX NAXN 82+ ENM750AWT 750 W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Been running Enermax PSU's for 10+ years without any problems. Simply get what you pay for. My old Galaxy 1,250w EVO is rock solid. More than enough cables to run a small server farm. Bought this latest 750 for older SLI gamer with extra MB power inputs for PCI section. Black & Yellow jacketed cables match my MSI MPower MB Perfectly.

Cons: Expensive, but will go into next build, and next build... Would like to have a MB fan monitor wire so could see the RPM or even temp. This unit doesn't have a fan wire for MB at all. Which is OK, self controlled and has it's own system, just like to see what's going on.

Overall Review: Nothing worth taking an egg off for... Sweeeeet......

It Works

WD Caviar Black WD1002FAEX 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive
WD Caviar Black WD1002FAEX 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: It works. Plug n Play. Downloaded Acronis. First made a Disk Image of system. Then changed mind and cloned system. Have 256GB Samsung Pro SSD That want to keep clean for gaming. Bought this WD HDD for extra games and all extra stuff. With MSI MPower MB & ClickBios... Have best of both worlds. Change boot priority. Since both listed as HDD's, Only 1 shows up in boot priority list. Have to go down to 1st device 2nd device and switch to run off HDD. vs SSD.

Cons: Not an SSD, but only about 10 seconds away...

Overall Review: SSD's like to have at least 25% free space. Clone your SSD to HDD and put all your seldom played games on HDD. Use Steam Mover or just fresh load. BF3 with Origin nothing but problems. Far Cry 3 is a Sick Joke. Don't even bother. Steam working fine on both. Only 1 path with HDD that's active C: Nice having 2 full OS's

2nd One Works Fine

CORSAIR Hydro Series H100i Extreme Performance Water/Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm
CORSAIR Hydro Series H100i Extreme Performance Water/Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm

Pros: It works. Would buy again. Joined it with the Corsair 600T white S.E. case. Stays between 40 -50c in heavy gaming. Fans Have to go on top of case. Barely fit under pop-up grill. Barely as in force grill down and sides stick up slightly, but works. My MSI MPower with Huge cooling headers clears radiator by 1/8". Fans wouldn't clear Ram anyway either. Put fans in Pull config. Pulling air Out of case, even though directions say to blow air Into case. With all the air coming into case already and only 1 x 120mm fan blowing air out, decide drawing more air into case with the 200mm front fan was best and pulling air out through radiator keeps more air moving. Why have 2 x 120mm & 1 x 200mm blowing In with only 1 x 120mm trying to move all that out.

Cons: Only real Con was 1st one had bad LED in pump. Green wasn't working. It happens. Only real Con is Buggy Software! Fans don't kick up when set temp points. They will when you save your profile, even when they shouldn't. Basically can't count on software to keep from frying. Have to just set fans to Max when heavy gaming, or Performance. Not big deal, but why... When you can't trust it, it worse than useless.

Overall Review: New Egg was great about taking care of RMA. Corsair also said they would make it right, but days later. Was already back to New Egg before they responded. Tried talking to Corsair Tech several times. Total waist of time. Ordered cables I didn't need. Completely Unhelpful. Answers in 5 words or less. No that won't work... Nothing about what Will work. So Just returned H100 Unopened. Purchased H100i like planned originally before bad info. Buy H100 if you want to spend an extra $70+ to make it work like the "i" model with integrated software. Can't just buy a simple Link cable to make H100 work like the "i" model. Like I was told... When you install H100 in Corsair 600T case you have to remove the nice 200mm white LED fan. Instead of making the optional side grill accept this now unused fan, they make the grill to take 4 x 120mm fans! Seems making a case specifically for the H100 system they would've had the design intelligence to simply make it so you could reuse their fan vs adding 4 silly little fans with 4 wires to block the view the case was purchased for originally! Just poor design planning in an otherwise awesome system. Just one more brand new computer item for the closet, or break out the drill & move the holes about 1/4". The 200mm fan is perfect for the side grill, or should've been.
