Dock works as intended

Lenovo ThinkPad USB-C Dock Gen 2
Lenovo ThinkPad USB-C Dock Gen 2

Pros: - small/compact - able to attach external peripherals and monitors - laptop is not throwing a fit after a week of use

Cons: None at this time.

Overall Review: Works great to assist with physically splitting work from home. Lenovo docks are hit or miss as of late. Glad I didn't have to RMA this one.

Great gaming monitor for price

GIGABYTE G27Q 27" 144Hz 1440P Gaming Monitor, 2560 x 1440 IPS Display, 1ms (MPRT) Response Time, 92% DCI-P3, VESA Display HDR400, FreeSync Premium, 1x DisplayPort 1.2, 2x HDMI 2.0, 2x USB 3.0, Height Adjustable
GIGABYTE G27Q 27" 144Hz 1440P Gaming Monitor, 2560 x 1440 IPS Display, 1ms (MPRT) Response Time, 92% DCI-P3, VESA Display HDR400, FreeSync Premium, 1x DisplayPort 1.2, 2x HDMI 2.0, 2x USB 3.0, Height Adjustable

Pros: - great picture - easy to set up - good amount of customization

Cons: - screen:bezel ratio is not right; you'll have black bars on the top and sides of your picture because that is as large as the screen is - monitor firmware bit annoying to install/update; used OSD sidekick (vendor's software) and had to let it sit overnight to complete the firmware update

Overall Review: Great monitor for the price it is. Just wish it was not as hidden that the bezel:screen ratio is as offputting as it is

RAM is RAM

G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 8GB 288-Pin PC RAM DDR4 3600 (PC4 28800) Intel XMP 2.0 Desktop Memory Model F4-3600C19S-8GVRB
G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 8GB 288-Pin PC RAM DDR4 3600 (PC4 28800) Intel XMP 2.0 Desktop Memory Model F4-3600C19S-8GVRB

Overall Review: No real pro or con; RAM is RAM. It was cheaper to buy two individual sticks than a 2-pack. Does the job, memory use is now lower. Might get a third as I am statically at 60% memory used when idle.

Excellent Choice made

AMD Ryzen 5 2nd Gen - RYZEN 5 2600X Pinnacle Ridge (Zen+) 6-Core 3.6 GHz (4.2 GHz Max Boost) Socket AM4 95W YD260XBCAFBOX Desktop Processor
AMD Ryzen 5 2nd Gen - RYZEN 5 2600X Pinnacle Ridge (Zen+) 6-Core 3.6 GHz (4.2 GHz Max Boost) Socket AM4 95W YD260XBCAFBOX Desktop Processor

Pros: - Major improvement in day-to-day activities and gaming - Temps are lower - CPU usage is lower

Cons: - Stock heatsink was a pain to install on a the ASUS TUF x470 board FYI

Overall Review: Really amazing upgrade from the i5-4460 I had prior. Should have waited a *tad* bit longer so I would have gotten a 3000 series instead.

Amazing Addition To Have

EVGA SuperNOVA 650 GM, 80 Plus Gold 650W, Fully Modular, ECO Mode with DBB Fan, Includes Power ON Self Tester, SFX Form Factor, Power Supply, 123-GM-0650-Y1
EVGA SuperNOVA 650 GM, 80 Plus Gold 650W, Fully Modular, ECO Mode with DBB Fan, Includes Power ON Self Tester, SFX Form Factor, Power Supply, 123-GM-0650-Y1

Pros: - Tiny - Quiet - Modular as hell

Cons: - 24-pin cable is WAAAAAAAAAAY short FYI; going through cablemods to get a longer cable - I'm also using a Cooler Master HAF XB case - PSU is really designed for a TINY case

Overall Review: Can't recommend this enough honestly if you want power in a small box. Just use custom cables for it to fit your case right.

Great board for an upgrade

ASUS TUF X470-Plus Gaming AM4 AMD X470 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard
ASUS TUF X470-Plus Gaming AM4 AMD X470 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: - Slim - Easy to manuever

Cons: - Lack of components; manufacturers are expecting us to reuse parts from old builds :( - RGB; not a fan of lights - Manual never stated that using the NVME slots would disable either the PCI-E or SATA ports if in use

Overall Review: ASUS TUF series has always been a quality that does not suffer. This was my third board in about 11 years of building PCs. Can't say enough good things.
