Incredibly powerful CPU

Pros: I do not play games on my computers, I use them to develop software and create/edit audio and video. Currently, that makes this CPU significant overkill for my needs. However, I only build myself a new workstation every 7-10 years so I need something that will still be capable for me a decade down the road. Intel makes great products and I expect to have years of use from this CPU.
Cons: None.
Overall Review: This is a very powerful CPU that should more than meet the needs of nearly every user today. The following parts were used together in this build: * Kubuntu Linux 22.04 LTS * Gigabyte Z690 Aorus Elite (N82E16813145366) * Intel Core i9-12900K (N82E16819118339) * Kingston Fury Beast (9SIA2F8HAE7367) * Seagate IronWolf Pro 18TB (N82E16822184872) * Corsair RM850 850W ATX 80 Plus Gold (N82E16817139281) * Fractal Design Define R5 ATX Midtower (N82E16811352048) * ASUS 24x DVD Burner (N82E16827135204)

Comments: Pros: The case looks very good. You only have to remove a single screw to gain access. Very well ventilated. Cons: The single sheet of instructions that come with the case are not in English so you get to guess which wires are for "ground". In order to install more than a single hard drive you will have to purchase brackets. To install an optical or HDD you must remove a cage - a couple of the screws are hard to reach.
Powerful and capable motherboard

Pros: This motherboard has everything I want - and more. Primary uses are custom software development and audio/video editing. I am very pleased with this product and would purchase it again.
Cons: The BIOS that shipped with the motherboard did not recognize my memory (Kingston Fury Beast model 9SIA2F8HAE7367). After downloading the latest BIOS from Gigabyte and resetting the CMOS, the memory was recognized.

Simple tool that gets the job done

Pros: I can't imagine how many of these optical drives ASUS has made over the years - billions? However many they've made, I've always been pleased with their products. While I back up all of my important data to offsite servers, I also keep certain data backed up locally on DVD in case I need to restore something offline. This drive is perfect for my needs.
Cons: None.

Nice board with all the options I need

Pros: Has all the options I was looking for in a board (dual monitor support and at least 4 SATA connectors). Works just fine with Kubuntu linux 16.04. Upgrading the firmware to latest version was painless using a USB thumb drive.
Cons: I don't care for the BIOS and I'm unable to get it to show *any* boot devices even though I've got two HDD's with boot partitions. Several times I booted up and instead of booting from either of the hard drives it went straight into BIOS. Giving it a three-finger salute (CTRL+ALT+DLT) rebooted me into my OS just fine though. This is flaky enough for me to ding the overall score of this board. Not much in the printed material included in the box, just enough to get the board installed in a case. They want you to scan a QR code to go online to read details - I have no desire to read instructions on my phone to set up a new PC.
Overall Review: Case: Fractal Design Node 304 Power supply: SeaSonic M1211 620W CPU: Intel Core i5-6500 Memory: Crucial 4GB DDR4 2133 (x2) HDD: Seagate Ironwolf 6TB NAS
Really great case

Pros: I love this case - it's got space for everything I wanted (ATX-sized power supply and up to 6 disk drives). It looks good, air flow is great.
Cons: My only complaint about the case is the internal power cord. When I installed my power supply the power plug is almost right up against the case - in order to insert the internal power cord to my power supply I had to bend the cord VERY sharply (basically a 90-degree angle).
Overall Review: I would purchase this case again for sure though I'd be more particular about the power supply I purchased to make sure the power plug is on the other side so I wouldn't have to bend the internal power cord so sharply. Motherboard: ASRock H110M-ITX Power supply: SeaSonic M1211 620W CPU: Intel Core i5-6500 Memory: Crucial 4GB DDR4 2133 (x2) HDD: Seagate Ironwolf 6TB NAS If you were to install everything possible (6 disk drives + video cards) cable management would definitely be a challenge - just the consequence of having a smaller form factor, not a fault of the case.
