Great but had a problem...Very Happy now.
Pros: It works very well but after about a year and a half it failed. Failure came about a week after I installed Win 10 over Win 7. Some kind of conflict corrupt it???....I am not smart enough to know. I contacted ADATA and they offered some things to try. I did but no success. After a couple of emails they asked me to return it. I had a replacement within a week!!!! They were kind, polite, knowledgeable, helpful and very prompt. As an old guy who is not too smart I've relied on Acronis for over 10 years to help me out. I had a nice week old clone in the vault so I lost nothing and was up and running in a few seconds. Just had to retrieve a few new files off the cloud for a 100% update and solution. I absolutely hate installing a fresh OS if I can help it.
Cons: None I know of as I don't have enough information to know who gets the credit for the failure. I suppose I could whine about it failing, but I am not at all convinced it wasn't a corrupt file issue.
Overall Review: In a day and age where support and solutions are virtually non-existent ADATA really shined. I will happily continue to use their fine products.........I know for sure they go the extra mile to try to keep their customers happy. That's a rare and valuable trait to me.
Built 3, all perfect
Pros: Easy build, nice layout. I am an old guy without a ton of experience but this board was really easy to work with, made me star. All 3 worked perfectly out of the box. Used 32 GB 3600 Gskill, 500 GB Samsung 970, 1 TB SSD. Seems very fast and responsive. Bios and online bios update is really nice. Oldest one is over a year old, absolutely no issues at all---well one issue which I'll outline in ''cons''. Not sure if it's boards fault or mine, but most likely mine.
Cons: For some reason I can't get it to recognize any boot drive other than the Nvme drive. It won't let me switch to a SATA drive for boot. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Overall Review: Excellent product, great performance, easy to work with, good manual and online info. Would buy again or its successor. Totally impressed.
Addition to previous review 3/20
Pros: A really good case, not only for the price. I have come to really appreciate the hdd mounting....sideways instead of parallel to case depth. Also, I went the easy way and mounted them backwards...i.e., connections on backside of the box. It not only keeps the board side super clean and neat, but also allows the use of super short 6 or 9" sata cables. The included ssd drive adapter saves you some money too if you go that way. I did for the first time and I won't be going back to the old spinners for the OS and busy programs. HDD is ok for lame s/w like word, email etc., as well as data files. Some comment about the lack of USB 3...I notice they offer the same box followed by U3....which has a usb 3 on the front panel.....a bit more money though.
Cons: None worth mentioning.
Overall Review: I disconnected one of my fans as I am not a heavy user. The i7 4770k runs very cool on stock (shock) Intel fan. Seemed weird at first but now I love the ''backward'' HDD-SDD mounting. I ran as many cables as possible on the backside, even the big fat power cable and that makes for a totally neat and tidy interior...not a bowl of spaghetti or snake farm. Great job by Rosewill and Newegg.........as usual.
Pros: Works very well, easy install. Well made and structurally durable, only time will tell about time to failure. Bios is really neat, super easy access, tons of settings to fiddle with as well as make a mess of your shiny new pc......also easy to reset defaults to bail you out!!. 3 ways to update bios, including out of windows.
Cons: Haven't found any yet.
Overall Review: Totally happy with this board, super in all respects. Teamed it up with an i7 4770, 500gb ssd, 1TB spinner for files and garbage, and 32gb 2400 ram. Be assured this combo really smokes and the board seems to be up to whatever I throw at it. I will buy another. It just giggles and smirks when I try to choke it with 4gb rasterizing chores or heavy duty Solidworks 3D files, then flies through them like they were a 10mb image file. Boot is about 15 seconds, recovery from a nap is about instantaneous, loading big programs is measured in seconds or even fractions of seconds. Response time feels simultaneous with a button push. For my modest needs it seems to be as good as it gets.
Works fine, good value
Pros: Simple SATA cables, attractively priced. I bought several in an assortment of lengths and all have performed flawlessly. Lots of config choices in addition to length, i.e., angle/angle, angle straight, straight/straight. It's nice to be able to use the shortest cable possible so the inside of the box doesn't look like a rats nest. It is also best for performance to minimize cable lengths. Also I ran most of the cables in a Rosewill Challenger case on the back side including the big fat ugly 24 pin power cable...very clean indeed on the mobo side of things.
Cons: None that I know of.
Overall Review: Typically great Newegg quality and service. Been with them over 10 years now I think. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Pros: Works fine. We actually use them in the manufacture of laminating machines. Do not expect the IR dot to be spot on...it ain't gonna happen. It will get you in the neighborhood but from there it is your job to move the gun around to zero in on the temp you are looking for. You will soon learn if it ''shoots'' high or low, left or right. Keep in mind this will change with different distances..this is true even with a $1K pistol/IR combo. Don't expect exact temps as this is not possible without adjustable emissivity. This is really not necessary for a lower cost IR gun and general around the house use........don't get hung up on a few degrees. It is really quite accurate, well made and uses AAA instead of much more expensive 9V batts. Back-lit LCD is very easy to read. Device is quite durable for its intended use.
Cons: None really.
Overall Review: Temp is amazingly accurate when compared to our NIST traceable instruments........not perfect but very close and certainly adequate for all but the most demanding applications.
