Pros: Coming from an old LED TN panel from 2012 this was a significant upgrade! Adaptive sync is compatible with my 2080 Super. Great color and definitely a good value.
Cons: Unable to figure out how to get the monitor to shut off the LED and go into full standby mode. This requires me to manually press the power button to get the screen to shut off at night.
Overall Review: Recommended if you are looking for a fast response 1080 monitor. I will likely buy a 1440 monitor to go with this for games where I'm less concerned about frame rate (non shooters).
Pros: Can always expect good thermals on the vendor custom boards. Temps run about 70 C under load.
Overall Review: Probably will use the card in IOMMU passthrough to a Windows Guest in the future once RTX 3000 series come out. Currently running Windows but will run Linux Host in the future.
Pros: Tons of room and unlimited options. Easy to work in. Great existing cable management and available tie offs for other routing. The tinted glass panel helps dim some of the RBG lighting that gets put on everything these day. This is nice if you aren't looking to completely light up your space with the lights (which I wasn't) but don't mind the LEDs peeking through when they are on. Ample amount of accessories, most I will never use.
Cons: None so far!
Overall Review: I recommend this case for someone who has the need for a lot of equipment (custom water cooling) or would like room to grow down the road.
Pros: Great surface, large, very smooth. I also like the thickness, it is not too thin or too thick. Would recommend to a friend.
Cons: The fabric is a little sharp out of box on the edges. Also a strong synthetic odor.
Overall Review: To solve the odor issue I just put it in a clothes dryer on very low heat setting for about 20 minutes. Helped dissipate the odor significantly. Hopefully the fabric will remain attached to the rubber for a long time!
Pros: Don't let people tell you that you need to get 1000 Watt PSUs. This guy will handle everything you throw at it. Seasonic makes great products and I am very happy with my purchase. It could even handle my power hungry GTX 480 and 4.6GHz OC on my 2500k with 1 SSD + 1 HDD.
Overall Review: Cooler Master CM690 II Advanced
Asus P8Z68-V Pro/Gen3
EVGA GTX 480
Pros: Got it on sale with rebate!
Great looking, plenty of options and room for cooling.
My brother is jealous of my case.
Cons: A few of the screws were tight, but after taking them in and out a few times they go much better now. The left door screw holes are slightly misaligned, but pulling the door out a bit lines them up.
I got a SSD and HDD, the HDD was very hard to get to slide into the bay.
Overall Review: If you are having grounding issues, CHECK YOUR GROUNDS. Take the doors off, the front panel (it pops off), then take the top off. You will see a wire that is attached to the top of the case. Because the case is painted black, you may need to resurface (take paint off) the grounding area so the wire is making good contact with metal. Paint is not conductive.
Pros: Great performance for the price. Much much better than stock Intel cooler.
Depending upon your setup and OC ability of your chips, this should get you close to a 4.5 with a 2500K. Other coolers might get you to 4.7, but is 200MHz really worth it? Stock clock on 2500K is 3.3 so this should get you at least a 1GHz boost.
Considering getting another one and finding a GPU mount for my video card.
Overall Review: Be sure to measure your case to make sure fan+rad will fit. I ended up having to move mine to another location because the 8-pin cpu cable is too close to the top of my case so I had to put it over my RAM slots on my CM 690 II Advanced case (Asus P8Z68-V Pro/Gen 3 mobo).
Directions were a little vague (pictures only), just make sure you have it right before you start putting the bracket together.
i5 2500K (4.3GHz/1.36v)
LOAD: 60C (Prime95)
Case: CM 690 II Advanced
Mobo: Asus P8Z68-V Pro/Gen 3
CPU: i5 2500K
Pros: Price point. The price per performance for this card is through the roof right now. This will run the latest titles (sans Metro) at a playable frame rate (~40-60+). Personally I have ran Skyrim and Crysis (1, Warhead, and 2) on this card and have had a pleasant experience. Better buy than 570.
EVGA Step Up. I bought this card in June '12 knowing that the 660s would be releasing later this summer. EVGA, who is known for their customer service, provides a great feature call Step Up where you can upgrade your purchase to a newer card. I have about a month left to step up and am looking at getting a 670 or hopefully a 660 once they release in a few days.
I really like the way this card looks.
Cons: Heat, 80 C is regular for most games. On GPU killing benchmarks (FurMark) you will hit 100C so be careful! My room (small) gets quite hot after a few hours of gaming.
Power consumption, make sure you have a quality power supply. If you plan on running SLI you will need a monster PSU (and a good air conditioner).
Overall Review: The price dropped $20 2 days after I purchased. I have been keeping an eye on the card and it has held steady at the price I paid, for the past month.
Asus P8Z68-V Pro/Gen 3
Intel i5 2500k (OC 4.3/1.36 vcore)
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 2x4GB DDR3 1600
EVGA GTX 480
SeaSonic M12II 620 Bronze 620W
Pros: - FUN game. If you have not played it yet, you are missing out severely!
- Included DLC code.
- Free shipping.
- For me, it is actually is cheaper to purchase games on Newegg. Will be considering Newegg for future gaming purchases.
Cons: Had a bit of a snafu on shipping. This item was ordered with 2 other items; however, this item was located in a Newegg warehouse on the other side of country (East). I ordered on a Wednesday and received part of my order on Friday and this game and a new controller on the following Monday. However, with free shipping, can't really complain.
Overall Review: Once you know, you Newegg!
Pros: I really like the matte finish, it feels like I have more control compared to the traditional black controller. The camo color appears to be dyed plastic; I was concerned that it was just paint which would chip. The camo finish should last and look great for a long time. Light controller, compared to other consoles. Included battery which lasts a long time.
Cons: My ONLY complaint is on my casing, the right seam where the top and bottom part of the case some together is slightly misalinged and those edges are a bit sharp. But literally every product has something unique about it, nothing is perfect.
Overall Review: This is my 3rd PS3 controller in 6 years. The latest PS3 controller have been, in my opinion, the best build quality controller on the market.
Pros: Good quality cable. Inexpensive. Even with shipping it is still cheaper than other retailers.
Cons: Really the only con is the small charge for shipping, but you can't beat this price!
Overall Review: I bought this to replace a Ethernet cable I bought from Newegg about 3 years ago which worked flawlessly until the door which I run the cable under wore through the casing from rubbing the same spot for 3 years.
Once you know, you Newegg!
