Gateway Laptop Intel Pentium dual-core T2330 (1.60GHz) 2GB Memory 160GB HDD Intel GMA X3100 15.4" Windows Vista Home Premium MT6729

Pros: Nice big wide screen but not too large. Very speedy machine with all RAM, HDD and PCMA Card slots user accessable from the bottom. The machine runs VERY quitely and has to be the most cool (tempture) running laptop I've ever used. The DVD burner is actually faster then I would have thought and the "1.6Ghz" Duo Core benches with the 2.80Ghz Tourion64. You can't go wrong with this machine. It plays the Orange Box with little trouble =] Great system! Price is unbelieable. Also to mention, the images on Newegg. This Laptop looks very sleek and way better in person. You can't even imagine.

Cons: Windows Vista. The HD is 160GB but the computer shows 130GB with a 10GB backup partition. So where is the other 20GB? In the OS? I never liked Vista but I did download several updates (42) and it's actually running much more smoothly and seems to have fixed compability issues with your favorite XP programs. Not really a big issue, but you may find that helpful. Heck you can replace your HD with a 260GB with a philips head screw driver.

Overall Review: I never was a big fan of Gateway computers in the past and always saw them merely as "Budget boxes" untill I saw a classmate with this laptop. My entire views have changed. It has been quite sometime sence I've seen a Gateway so there is no telling how long ago, but Gateway really stepped up big time in the industry.
