Pros: Put two of these in a small raid box, and am pleased so far. Very quiet, cool, plus verified with Toshiba warranty site these have a full three-year warranty. The manufacture date was less than one month before I received these.

Cons: Didn't get them on "super-saver" - and there are no 2tb drives in 2.5" thinner than 15mm - Raid box won't hold those.

Overall Review: I think there is very little difference to be found among the WD, Hitachi, Toshiba, Samsung 1tb 5400 laptop drives - so for me warranty was the thing.

Pros: Fast and reliable

Cons: not many - not the cheapest, no frills packaging

Overall Review: Felt compelled to let those indicating "crashing" drives after a year or so of use - update your firmware! The 009 or earlier firmware hard-stops the drive and requires a re-boot daily or more - after 5000 hours uptime. Download the latest firmware from Cruical - smooth sailing.
