Pros: Harmony remotes are very easy to set up and will control just about anything out there. The IR range is way better than the average remote that comes with most devices. It is rechargeable so no need to replace batteries .The touch screen is nice and bright along with the lighted buttons and the battery will go a week without needing a charge ( I use mine about 6hrs a day) I have talked a few of my family and friends into using the Harmony One and they all love it after a short learning curve. This thing WILL remove the remote control cluster basket off your coffee table forever.
Cons: The electronics under the buttons on these remotes could use some upgrade. I first owned the Harmony 720 and had the heavily used buttons like VOLUME UP and DOWN , GUIDE and the DIRECTIONAL buttons go bad in a couple of years. By bad I mean you have to press them harder and harder over time until they just don't work anymore. Now my Harmony One is doing the same thing after just a couple of years. I have had generic cable box remotes that still work after 5+ years of heavy use and not a problem with a single button !! This is the only flaw I have found with these remotes and is what makes them "less than perfect" or as we Neweggers say "4 instead of 5 eggs"
Overall Review: I will be looking for another option when my Harmony One buttons fail in the coming months. I don't want to spend $200 bucks every couple of years for these things. Shame on Logitech for cheaping out on such an important part of the remote !!
Pros: For the price ( I did not purchase from Newegg) it's a great base model with built in WiFi. I bought this unit for the guest room and it works great for viewing photos and listening to music via my laptop over my home network. Blu-Ray movies look great and it's 3D ready after internet software update !!
Cons: Very "lightweight" cheap feel. Makes a bit more noise during load and playback than larger more robust units.
Overall Review: Gave it 5 stars because it was low priced and does the job well for a base model.
