Pros: First, be aware this shaver has NO side-burn trimmer. Last time I recall they made a model without a trimmer was back in the 1960s. Second, the blades they ship with this model are some sort of lower cost version with no Lift and Cut feature. Lift and Cut makes a huge difference, again a standard feature since the 1960s, so don't base the shave on the current blades. Last, like most battery shavers since they dumped Ni-Cad batteries, after 2-3 shaves, the speed of the motor drops significantly, as does the quality of the shave. Be prepared to charge every three days.
All that said, a decent shaver with top quality parts and assembly at a fair price.
Cons: Weak battery.
Cons: Cheap. This is one of those glossy black piano finish products that everyone hates. They seem to be still in the pipeline. ANY smudge on the finish will result in scratches no matter how soft the cloth is. Also, they seem to think that no drivers are needed (good luck with that) and none are included nor available on the web site.
Overall Review: The menu will only take you a week to figure out but they saved a lot of money printing a 165 page manual in 28 languages that tells you ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.
ASUS used to be a lot better than this. No more ASUS for me.
Pros: I need to update my prior review as Lasko has stood behind their product and they offered a way for me to get a replacement with minimal shipping costs on my part. This is a rare company and they are worth a significant upgrade in my rating. My mistake, I should have just called them before I made the prior review. I just rarely find such good customer service; I should have given them a chance.
Cons: No More
Pros: Works for a while.
Cons: After just a few weeks, the bearings in the motor failed and now, it is unusable if you are trying to sleep. Now I have a great fan if I don't mind constant rattling. Of course, it costs way too much to ship for warranty. I'm going back to a quality metal fan from a known company.
Overall Review: Very disappointed. I should have know better.
Pros: Get these while you can. The Taiwanese version is the best there is. Unfortunately, I have seen that these are now also made in China, and they are no where near as good. I just received an order and so far (4/1/11) they are still Taiwan.
Cons: You can't be sure where they were made. So far, they have been from Taiwan, India, United Arab Emerite, and China.
Pros: Great price. Warranty is 2 years on the package.
Cons: This might be someone's class 6 but it is rather slow. Will NOT work for readyboost. Odd for class 6.
Pros: This thing just works. Looks a lot like the others, but it is not a cheap knock-off. Unlike another cheap manufacturer (think UFO) that fried not only my drive but also my computer USB wiring, this thing is safe.
Pros: The memory is top notch.
Cons: Look closely and you will see that the reader has a much shorted 2 year warranty. Of course, mine failed just after.
Pros: I have had this for over a year now, and this charger delivers everything you could ask for and then some. Solid and reliable.
Cons: Takes a little time to understand all the features; the time spent reading the instructions is worth it.
Overall Review: Newegg says 1 year warranty. Powerex still shows a 3 year warranty on their website.
Pros: Worked for a while and then just dead. Unfortunately, no lifetime warranty on this part as on memory.
Cons: Worked, then warranty expired.
Overall Review: Never moved around in my pocket or any other harsh setting. Probably just a fluke, Kingston is good stuff.
Pros: I talked to MAHA about the terminal problem, and they said that this had been corrected. Looks like I got some old stock. You might want to wait a while to buy so the problem cells can work out of the system.
Cons: None anymore
Overall Review: Tech support from these people is some of the best.
Pros: This is a great little unit. The fit and finish are top quality, the controls are very natural to use and most of what you want is included. AA batteries are a major plus given that the cost to replace the Lithium batteries exceeds $100 and need to be done every 2-3 years. I am picky, and the screen is very easy to read and offer a good range of font sizes.
One of the best parts is the page turn system. They seem to have actually talked to users as there are 3 different mechanical systems as well as the software. No matter which finger you want to use to turn the page, you will be happy.
Cons: Big negative, when you change batteries, all your bookmarks and recently viewed books are lost. Shame on you Ectaco!!
Also, the + terminal for the batteries is very shallow and I have found a number of very high quality batteries of the new NiMH LSD type that do not make contact. To bad, as this would not be a problem with just a little better design.
Overall Review: Just buy it. You will not be disappointed.
Pros: Good pricing and reliable data access.
Cons: Be Warned, in spite of the name Elite, which Western Digital states comes with the docking station, and in spite of the pictures here that show the docking station, an email I just received states there is no docking.
Pros: Every bit as good as Eneloops and top quality from MAHA. They hold their charge and they last longer than regular NiMH
Cons: Big problems with the short + terminal post. I have three different electronics (an Ebook and two radios), all brand new, and none of them will make the contact and work.
Overall Review: I haven't seen this contact problem in 40 years back when most NiCads had these problems. It is very unfortunate that such high quality cells have such a glaring defect.
When they do work, they are superb.
Pros: Very compact and good looking. Short cable is long enough and white, for some odd reason. Best warranty on the market (5 year) and a very good reputation for quality. Also, seems to work with more lower powered USB connections laptops than some.
I bought another.
Overall Review: No case.
Pros: Reads virtually every format.
Cons: Be warned, this drive tops out at 4X when reading any type of DVD. I tried SL,DL, and + and - formats and it never exceeded 4X, which, by the way, is the max available as reported by testing software. Do not buy this if you plan to do extensive DVD data transfers; it is in no way an 8X reader.
Overall Review: I tested it on 3 computers and tested other drives as well. The problem is in the ASUS drive. It will not meet its listed specifications.
Pros: Good solid metal case- very easy to read light- lifetime warranty.
Cons: Every test program I use shows that this drive is very, very slow. I have an average drive, SD**K, and it is twice as fast. Vista says it is too slow for ReadyBoost as well. Mine will be relegated to backup storage.
Overall Review: Do not buy this for the speed. It is not there.
Pros: This is a very nicely sized drive. Works reasonably fast and the U3 software is surprisingly useful.
Cons: Will not work (U3) in Vista. A new model is due this month and Sandisc has said they will have a fix at the end of the year for their current models.
Cons: Ridata discs have an unfortunate habit of decaying after only a few months. The quality is low to start with. Add the time bomb of total data loss and you just can't afford this brand.
Pros: Absolutely none. This item can destroy your equipment.
Cons: The first unit was just defective. The replacement not only didn't work, it then destroyed my harddrive, caught fire, and fried the USB header and wiring in my computer, costing me more than 10X the price in damage.
Overall Review: Newegg instantly stood behind this lemon and did a remarkable job trying to make me whole to the best of their ability.
Rosewill has ignored my email. I suggest you throw this away if you are unlucky enough to receive one.
Pros: Works flawlessly. Fast and cool and is not a power hog.
Overall Review: Be aware, most cheap USB cases are junk and Seagate told me the worst problems they have in tech support are from these external cases. If you want an external, buy Seagate's complete setup.
Pros: Very good backup software with very good support.
Cons: Old version, Acronis upgrade costs more than a new purchase.
Pros: None, really.
Cons: Some of theze have a serious problem with error peaks when burning otherwise high quality DVD media. I would avoid; there are much better burners out there.
Overall Review: It is a real shame. My older NEC burners are still the best.
Pros: None. The little petty things that won't work more than cancel out the price.
Cons: Random re-boots, Power management only works when it feels like it, Now it turns itself on just to make life "interesting".
Overall Review: I have been building computer for over 20 years. I should have known better than to cut corners. Stick with a brand name and save yourself the hassle.
Pros: Very fast, very easy to Vmod up to 7900GTX speeds, no problems with the new memory chips at all.
Cons: Fan is a little weak but a number of aftermarket fans are available.
