Wicked Wind Tunnel

1ST PC CORP. PFB1212GHE-F00 Case cooler
1ST PC CORP. PFB1212GHE-F00 Case cooler

Pros: This thing moves air! I plugged it in to see how fast/loud it was and it started levitating on the table, and this isn't a light fan either! I dropped it into my case as an exhaust fan (the only place it fits because it's a little wider than my other fan locations permit), and it dropped over 10C off of the system temp, & 8-10C off of the CPU temp as an exhaust fan! I'm thinking the other case fans that came with my case (5 more Lian Li fans) aren't that high quality, they flow @ 1k RPM's & don't feel like they're moving hardly any air. You can feel this pull the air from the front of the case more than the other 2 120mm fans mounted there. I don't think I'll need this bad boy all the time if I get some more better case fans, but I'm going to hold onto it for when my case starts getting a little toasty. BIOS reads the fan running @ 4850 or so RPM's avg, so it lives up to the standard there.

Cons: Great googly moogly! It sounds like a vacuum cleaner or a hair dryer set on high x2. It doesn't have an annoying hum or mechanical noise though, just the sound of air being pushed through the fan. I figured it would be loud looking @ the specs, but yea... I think you get my point in this rant.

Overall Review: I don't mind the sound of the fan running. It becomes white noise after about 5-10 minutes to me. It's a good solution to a warm(hot) case, I'm sure of that! And if you turn your case around, it will blow enough air to make a nice room fan as well!

hec Raptor 1100CM 1000 W ATX12V V2.2 / EPS12V V2.91 SLI Certified CrossFire Certified 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: was great while it worked...

Cons: well... a couple weeks ago i turned on my computer and it wouldn't post. Took it to a shop because I had absolutely no idea what was wrong. Turns out that the psu had a bad ground connection and cooked my motherboard & cpu. Hopefully I can get it RMA'd...

Overall Review: I hope I just got a bad psu.

Logitech LS1 Black 3 Buttons Tilt Wheel USB Wired Laser Mouse
Logitech LS1 Black 3 Buttons Tilt Wheel USB Wired Laser Mouse

Pros: I just realized that you can side scroll by pushing the scroll wheel to the side... and I've had this mouse for over 2 years now! and the bottom stays clean, most other mice I've used collect dust and dead skin on the feet, this guy doesn't though, stays smooth and happy.

Cons: none

Overall Review: I might pick up a couple more when I get the money for my other systems...

Wonderful fans

ENERMAX MAGMA UCMAA12A Case Fan
ENERMAX MAGMA UCMAA12A Case Fan

Pros: These fans are pretty awesome! They are quiet, and are pretty high quality. The blades don't vibrate or make any weird noises. The blades are also removable for very easy cleaning! They work great at any voltage, there isn't a high pitched wining or anything like some other fans.

Cons: a little noisy blowing air, but the only noise you hear is the actual air being pushed through.

Overall Review: I have 5 in one machine hooked up to a Lamptron FC2. I can get them completely silent, and they still move a bit of air, or put them on full blast, and it keeps everything cool. I wouldn't recommend these for htpc builds unless you undervolt them (5 or 7v) but for a big rig like I have, they work great.

TRENDnet TW100-S4W1CA DSL/Cable Broadband Router 1 x 10/100Mbps WAN Ports 4 x 10/100Mbps LAN Ports

Pros: A steal at the price. It just works. I haven't really poked around in the settings much, so I don't know how well the firmware works. For those of you angry about the firmware, what do you expect from an inexpensive piece of equipment?

Cons: Maybe not the highest quality hardware/materials? I'm not throwing it across my room or anything so I'm not worried.

Overall Review: I had a bunch of routers laying around, but none of them had 10/100 Mbps on the WAN/Internet port. I didn't feel like dropping a lot of money for something to hook up to the network at school to get more than 10 Mbps, so I bought one of these guys. It handles 3 computers hooked up to it no problem.

G.SKILL Trident 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL8D-4GBTD
G.SKILL Trident 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL8D-4GBTD

Pros: This memory is pretty nice. It runs at advertised speeds in my motherboard, and it runs cool. Overclocks well.

Cons: Not a con, but you probably will have to set the speed and timings in the BIOS, especially with an AMD setup.
