Great So far..
Pros: Runs cool. Good price and speedy shipping from Newegg as always.. The drive is listed as designed for surveillance type applications. As in made for time lapse and other type surveillance DVR equipment. It is VERY small in size and weight. I thought for a moment when I took it out of the box that I had purchased a laptop drive by mistake because it was so svelte. Seems to run cool and quiet. I performed a mass file copy of over 1,500,000 files totaling 898 GB in just under 8 hours with no transfer errors or other mishaps.
Cons: None so far. We will see how reliable and well built it is over time.
Overall Review: Purchased this along with a Mediasonic 4bay JBOD enclosure. I'm happy as a clam with the drive AND the enclosure.
Great case, TERRIBLE assembly instructions
Pros: Well laid out and seems pretty sturdy after I finally managed to get it put together correctly. All parts of my PC are now easily accessed if I need to replace a part or add upgrades to my build. No problems with airflow or overheating since it has no top or sides to speak of .to trap any excess heat.
Cons: Absolutely horrible labeling of the pieces (it came un-assembled and 100% completely UN labeled either) No easy way to tell whether a given part was the left side/right side or to know whether I was putting them together right side up, inside out, back to front etc.Same goes for the fasteners. There were about a dozen bags of assorted screws, grommets etc that again, had NO labels to help identify them when putting the case together. The 1 page instructions DID give letter classifications to each like a screw, b screw, h bolt etc, which served no purpose as the darn bags of screws had no labels. I had to go by the length and shape of the screw heads to figure it out. And ended up partly assembling the thing 3 times before getting all the parts in the correct orientations. Like i said, no way to tell what side of a piece needed to face upward or downwards, north or south etc.A royal pain in the rear for anyone who does not have a great deal of patience and mechanical dexterity to assemble it with such lousy labeling and horridly brief assembly instructions. This is why I took off 2 stars. It was like putting together a jigsaw puzzle of a blizzard that had only 12 distinct shapes but 1000 pieces in those 12 shapes and in just 1 color, white (or in my case, black)
Overall Review: I'm glad i bought it but whoever thought sending a box of flat black panels with zero markings on them to facilitate customer assembly and an armload of bags full of unlabeled fasteners to screw it all together was a good ides, should be shot.Or at the very least demoted to a position more befitting their intelligence, like sweeping floors or cleaning toilets.
Good product but cooks slower than stated
Pros: Easy to use and MUCH healthier than frying with hot oil.
Cons: A more comprehensive cookbook for this product would be nice. The 1 provided only has like 10 recipes & the instructions for them are a bit vague. (1 had no measurements specified & a couple of the others were a little confusing due to less than perfect Chinese to English translation syntax errors.)
Overall Review: Overall a pretty good value & a good choice for those who want to eat healthier without giving up their favorite fried foods.
Good PSU for the money
Pros: Cheap! I bought 2 so i'd have a spare. I was a little worried at first since my last Diablotek PSU lasted less than 6 months and felt as light as an empty coffee can. But this 1 has performed nicely so far. It WAS NOT labeled diablotek so i'm not sure if they just sent the wrong PSU by mistake, But it works good so I'm not gonna look a gift horse in the mouth. It was also a good bit heavier than my 1st Diablotek PSU. And NOT plastered all over with red and black labels like my 1st 1. But I couldn't care less what brand it actually is. It works great, it's quiet and seems to run cool also.
Cons: not the best of brands. But what can you expect at this price point?Anything better than a cheap chinese hand crank 12 volt DC generator is a great buy at the price.
Overall Review: Keep 1 on hand for emergencies. Nothing like having a spare PSU when your current unit dies on you at 3AM and there's no stores open to go buy a new 1.
4 star design!!
Pros: configuration options up the wazoo!! Best airflow of any case I've owned. I'm running an 8 core Vishera FX black series CPU that's overclocked nearly 25% using only the stock heatsink and fan that came in the box with the processor. My idle temps are in the low 90's Fahrenheit. Under load it only warms up to about 130F. It comes equipped with 3 large, VERY quiet case fans already installed.Room for over a DOZEN hard drives!!!!
Cons: No spot for a full size dvd burner or even a slimline laptop drive, only a slot loader, which is harder to find. (not to mention pricier if you buy your slot load drive new) Managed to find a used slot load multi burner pulled from a mac book on that auction site that starts with an E though, so no biggie.
Overall Review: Very cool looking case. Looks like a mini fridge like you'd find in a dorm or hotel room. And as cool as it keeps my 8 core monster CPU it might as well be a fridge. The manual is next to worthless but do you REALLY need a manual to tell you how to take a case apart or put it back together?? If so, perhaps you should stick to a big box pc from best buy or wally world.
Performing flawlessly so far
Pros: Had everything needed to get up and running, including screws and a screwdriver to attach the drive handles to your HDD's. Easy peasy getting it hooked up and installing a couple of drives. I stuck 1 1TB used drive in bay 1 and a new 1TB drive I ordered with this enclosure in bay 2. I don't have E-sata on the PC I'm using this on so I went with the USB3 plug provided. I am getting a sustained transfer rate of 30-35MB per second which comes to a bit over 2GB per minute. I performed a mass file copy in Windows to drive 1 of the Mediasonic probox of 1,500,000 files totaling 898GB in size. It's been about 6 and a half hours now and the dialog box shows about 1 hour remains before it is finished.
Cons: It wasn't free and won't cook me dinner? No really, I can think of no cons to be honest. I got a good price on it with fast delivery (Thanks Newegg!) and the hardware seems pretty solid.
Overall Review: I have experienced zero problems so far with random dismounts like many other reviewers have complained about. Either the hardware I chose for my system is just THAT good, or Mediasonic perhaps fixed the USB controller chip issues. My system specs are as follows: ASUS M578L-M USB3 with latest BIOS (1801) AMD FX 6200 6-core CPU over clocked to 4.10ghz OS drive is a Samsung EVO 830 SSD 64GB SATA III (connected via SATA II though) 12GB of 10667khz DDR3 ram Cooling via a Corsair H60 hydro series pre-filled water cooling unit. and 1 80MM fan on the radiator and 1 80MM fan on front of a Media center style case about the size and shape of a very small microwave oven.Temps under load run 135F -150F on average and I keep my pc on 24/7. Oh and I'm using the ASMedia USB controller driver and software that came with the Motherboard. Lastly, I'm running Win7 with all security updates installed but nearly NO other updates. (I distrust windows and Bill Gates VERY, VERY much and refuse to clog my system up with tons of worthless updates.)
Seems honest & appears to understand customer service is a priority
My order arrived fairly quick considering the USPS held it at their Dallas sorting center for 4 days due to a "regional weather exception" eg: Hurricane Harvey (it BARELY touched my area. Only VERY minor flooding in a few neighborhoods.) So the delivery delay was through no fault of the seller. It was packed decently with the hard drives sealed in electrostatic bags & then wrapped in bubblewrap & then placed in a USPS flat rate priority box. I won't know how well re-furbed they were until 1 gives me a problem. But they look new & spotless, were a breeze to install, initialize & format in my Mediasonic 4 bay raid enclosure, and are functioning fine as I type this review. I would definitely buy from this seller again if the drives hold up under use.
Fast shipping, accurate product descriptions.
A problem free transaction and a good value on the product.
