Pros: Low cost, basic layout and stable operation.
Cons: Audio output is less than ideal. Not uncommon with this level of board, just remember to have decent amplified speakers. Headphone use will have you turn windows volume up near 100%. This is the only reason I dropped an egg on the rating.
Overall Review: No RGB, No USB C, but stable and reliable operation. If you under a budget then this board lets you divert some of that budget to storage, case or other component. It won't have all the bells and whistles of higher tier boards but it will give you the foundation of a good working computer.
Pros: This thing is Fast! And runs cool while doing it. This card replaced my old RX 480 and easily doubled or tripled the performance, while turning up the visual extras and running the same temp. And quieter than the old card too. My existing games are smooth and fast. I edit photos with Photoshop & Lightroom and the tools within are lag free now. Liquify is in real time.
Cons: Three things that are kind of cons are;
I'm going to need to buy a new monitor to take advantage of the additional resolution and speed.
The size is huge. 13" (330 mm) and required a new case to fit (unexpected expense but I do like the case lol)
This card will make me buy more games simply because I can run more newer titles now (not a con per say but unexpected)
Overall Review: In full disclosure I have to say that this card was a replacement for a DOA card. The original card had no display output. Newegg CS couldn't have been better. I explained the problem, the methods of diagnosing the card and the expectation of an extended wait time for replacement. The CSA very quickly sent me an RMA for replacement, answered my question on the rest of the combo (shuffle purchase) and never hesitated to provide assistance or answer questions. I give Newegg support 5 eggs. An additional 5 eggs for the timely updates on returns and status, AND getting a replacement out not in months but days.
In the current market with no foreseeable change in pricing, this card is in line with competitive cards. If you are able to afford the current price structure and have the opportunity to purchase, I do recommend the card. Given a choice this card and a non OC RX6800 XT card, at respective price differences, I'm not sure the RGB alone would be worth it. However you have to take what you can get. And if you can get this card, do so.
Pros: Boots fast, easy setup and more than enough expansion for my needs. The RGB is a nice extra, something that I didnt care about at first but have grown to like it.
Cons: Number 1 issue I have is this was bundled with an Asrock RX 6800 XT Taichi GPU, through the Shuffle. I would have never picked this board up otherwise.
Number 2, the self diag digital display is meaningless if theres not a code reference in the manual. Luckily I found info online to help fix my setup.
Overall Review: While Im not into over clocking, this board certainly is ready for it if I choose to. I like the color of the board, which accents the RGB built in. The digital self diagnosing display was a godsend when I had my M.2 in the wrong slot and a bad GPU, once I found out the code descriptions online.
Pros: More than enough cables to meet my needs. Velcro cable straps look a lot better than the nylon ties included with my case, plus I can easily rearrange cable configuration later. Has the three 8 pin GPU connectors that I need.
Overall Review: Ive found no faults with the layout or operation of this PS so far, power output seems to be steady and it exceeds my current configuration, so no excessive heat output.
Pros: Cool and stable at 3.8Ghz with all 4 cores unlocked. OEM cooler on it and after 10 continuous hours of use the CPU temp is only 52°C
Overall Review: I realize I got lucky with getting the extra 2 cores to unlock. Even if 1 or both cores wouldnt' have unlocked the cpu is a major upgrade from the E6300 that my wife still runs.
Pros: Great packaging. Suspect it runs fast and cool.
Cons: Unable to use till the couger point chips are back out in production. The motherboard I did have ended up having a faulty bios and wouldn't work. Maybe in a couple months I can see what this thing can do.
Overall Review: Really sucks to have something that can't be used. I picked this up with other components to replace my failed 3 year old motherboard. unfortunatly I got it right before Couger Point recall came out.
Pros: Core unlocking was easy, SATA ports not inline with PCI-E x16 slot so my vid card doesn't cause a clearance issue. All connectors are easily accessible.
Cons: I understand its an LE board but I would have liked the on board sound to have reassignable ports so I can have my headphones and my speakers functional at the same time. Would like to have the BIOS reconize an un-core locked phenon II X2 555 BE. It works but there is an annoying message on POST.
Overall Review: Got this board to replace my wife's 4 year old Core2Duo 1.86 ghz system. Instead I'm using it till my P67 system gets a new board. So far I've been really impressed with the speed & stability.
Phenom II X2 555 BE
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600
Nvidia 8800GT 512
Pros: Easy to read silk screen id's for connections, didn't have to open manual once to verify or recheck where something would need to be plugged in. Clean layout of slots, connectors, ect. Award BIOS, which I prefer, is easy to adjust to your needs.
Cons: The single IDE port is at the 'bottom' of the board, which when installed in a tower case puts this port furthest from your typical IDE cd/dvd drive locations, which tends to be in the top of the case. A longer IDE cable may be needed or relocate optical drives closer to the port.
Overall Review: Fitted with a E8200 Wolfdale and Antec 550W PSU the entire system now runs very cool. My 120 mm fan now blows cool air out of case where previously the computer was a suplimental heater for my room.
Pros: 3 Rails, modular cables allow you to only install what you need to keep case clutter down, bonus to air flow within case. Afer running 12 hours straight there is nominal heat exiting from PSU. Same dimentions as PSU I replaced.
Overall Review: As of this time nothing else to add. Quiet, steady power, runs cool and I got it when it was on sale :)
