Product works great provided it is used for its original purpose
Pros: I believe that anyone complaining about this fan and its clearance issues has attempted to mount it to the swinging door, instead of on the motherboard tray as it appears to have been originally designed for. I agree that it may cause some problems in this configuration. That being said, if you plan on mounting the fan to the motherboard tray, you should have no problems whatsoever. Personally, I love this fan as it does exactly what I had intended it to do.
Cons: As everyone else has stated, the screws are a pain the rear. After 20 minutes of trying to force them through the holes, I gave up and used my dremel to open them up a bit. Other than that, the only complaint I can make is that the provided controller mounts to the rear of the case, instead of the front. Nothing that a few modifications couldn't fix.
Overall Review: Great fan for a stacker 830 provided it's mounted to the MB tray.
Heavy and Thick. Touchpad issues. Frequent crashes. Otherwise, the price was right.
Pros: Great price and a decent laptop had it not been for the issues I experienced on this particular computer
Cons: Looks like touchpad issues may be inherent to this model, as another reviewer also alluded to a glitchy touchpad, something I experienced from time to time. Also had frequent crashes using OpenOffice, one of the few programs I had taken the time to install, so there may be some memory issues as well. Despite the "Thin and Light" categorization, this machine was anything but. Even given the era, this thing is a beast. Nearly 4 lbs and pretty thick.
Overall Review: It's definitely a risk purchasing this one. If weight isnt a concern, it's hard to beat the price for a fully functioning laptop with these specs. With a refurb, it's always gonna be a case by case basis, but there are at least two reviews with two different laptops mentioning glitchy touchpads.
Beautiful Monitor, Even Better Price
Pros: Picked up this model from Newegg as an open box for $100 less than the current sale price (after rebate) and as far as I can tell, there is absolutely no problem with it, other than a small scratch on the rear panel. No dead pixels, no frozen pixels. The color and clarity on this thing is amazing and for my purposes, there is no issue with the vertical viewing angle. I sit approximately 3 feet away from the screen and see very little difference in color from the top to the bottom of the screen.
Cons: My only complaints with this monitor are associated with the stand. It would have been nice if it were able to be tilted downwards, even slightly. It could also have been a bit more stable, as it will shake a bit on some desks.
Overall Review: I was a bit nervous buying an open-box monitor on Newegg, especially given their return policy, but after receiving my item, I could not be happier with the purchase. A 26" Samsung monitor for three Ben Franklins is a great deal. Thanks.
