Samsung knows how to make em'

SAMSUNG B350 Series S22B350H 21.5" 1920 x 1080 D-Sub, HDMI LCD Monitor
SAMSUNG B350 Series S22B350H 21.5" 1920 x 1080 D-Sub, HDMI LCD Monitor

Pros: Beautiful. Not just the performance, but when Samsung wants to make a sexy piece of hardware, they make a sexy piece of hardware. The red tint in the bezel is very subtle, in fact, when the monitor is on, with any kind of luminescence coming from it, the bezel just looks black to me in my somewhat dim lit room. If however you were in a fluorescent lit room, it might be more noticeable. I can see the reddish hue when the monitor is off fine though. Colors are bright and vibrant, 1080p movies look much better than they did on my old Lenovo L195 1440x900 monitor. Google it.

Cons: When I put it on the recommended resolution of 1920x1080, the image didn't actually fill the whole screen. About an inch on each side of the screen was just black. This could be user error however, considering before I did anything, I tried to duel screen this with my old monitor, which might have set the default of the this monitor to allow that. Or it could have been my video card drivers seeing as how when I went into Catalyst, found the "my digital flat panels" tab then proceeded to the "scaling options" sub tab, I just dragged the bar all the way over and the image fit the screen perfectly. Also, when I tried duel screening with my lower res monitor, it set the resolution to 2880x900, which drastically lowered the quality and clarity of this monitor. Ultimately I decided against using eyefinity because of this. Also I'm not sure if this is thew case with all 1080p monitors, but the text was not so clear at first. Just used Win 7's Cleartype text to fix this.

Overall Review: I'm using an old (bout' 2 years) Radeon HD 5850 and it's been working fine. As for the cons, just beware, you might have to do a tiny amount of tinkering, and it can be annoying if you don't know where to go to fix things, but if I figured it out, most people can. Not to mention again, that all those things could just as well been user error. Also, something that really confused me thanks to Newegg, was the way they described it's contrast ratio on this site. It says DCR mega 8 (1000:1). Basically I had no idea what the whole DCR mega 8 thing was. It's just Samsung's way of showing the dynamic contrast ratio of this monitor is infinite. This is what the 8 means. I didn't figure it out until I got the box and it said mega then a sidewords 8. An infinite symbol. Made sense then. Over all, This monitor, for the cheap price that newegg is offering on it, is absolutely stunning. One of my better buys. Also I'm not sure if this i

ASUS VE278H 27" Full HD 1920 x 1080 VGA HDMI Asus Eye Care with Ultra Low-Blue Light & Flicker-Free Built-in Speakers LED Backlight LCD Monitor

Pros: Big, bright. 2 HDMI's. A headphone jack!

Cons: Blacks are not black (enough).

Overall Review: I bought this alongside a 22 inch Samsung for dual setup. I can now definitively say, at least for myself, Samsung monitors are better when it comes to picture quality. Side by side, dragging a 1080p movie across the screens in VLC, the Samsung monitor blows away this monitor with more realistic color, and pitch blacks. The color on this monitor always has a weird artificial coloring to it. Blacks are washed out. White people in movies a lot of times look red faced like they are furious or something. Even whites aren't as true white. Blues look duller as well. The only colors that don't suffer on this monitor may be brights. Like reds look fine but that's probably because they are over done on this monitor considering white people can sometimes look way too red as I've said. That being said, it does have a headphone jack which I needed because the TV I bought doesn't. I am preparing to get the new consoles and I like headphones better than speakers so this was a big deal for me. So this serves it's purpose, got it for 200 bucks. Just wish the picture quality was higher. It's kind of crazy that I still choose to watch movies on my much smaller 22 inch than this one because the picture is that much better. Moral of the story; if you can, buy Samsung people. I don't know what they do but it's magic.

They removed Tuneup Utilities features

AVG Ultimate [Internet Security+Tuneup+VPN] 2022, 3 Devices 2 Years - Download
AVG Ultimate [Internet Security+Tuneup+VPN] 2022, 3 Devices 2 Years - Download

Pros: Basically just antivirus now, it does that just fine.

Cons: Garbage company of sneaky little con artists. Lots of pop ups if your sub lapses as well.

Overall Review: They bought Tuneup Utilities out and integrated all it's function into AVG. This was fine, I had used both AVG and Tuneups before so now theyre both in one package, cool. I re upped my subscription in 2020 only to find they completely removed every cool feature that Tuneup utilities was good for. It's all gone. Stripped out. So they bought the company for no reason then and all those cool features are now gone forever. TO make matters worse, they did this like sneaky little thieves. They didn't even give a reason or path notes, they just took it all out. And on their website they have the most infuriating response to many people asking what the hell happened. They basically came up with some garbage like "people ask for those features to be removed"

Stable. Fast. Cheap.

G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL7D-4GBXM

Pros: Bought with a P67 MoBo as advertised, these things can't be beat. Setup was painless, haven't messed with them since I put them in though. 7.9 WEI score if you were wondering, was actually very surprised to see that considering a few Newegg reviews I've seen on the "little brother" of this RAM. The 9-9-9-24 ones. Apparently some people are only getting a WEI score of 5.9 with 4 gigs of those, and even a response from a G.skill help guy said you would need 8 gigs of those to get a higher WEI score. The guy was using a Z68 MoBo rather than a P67 MoBo though, I wonder if that could be it.

Cons: Very slight con here, maybe not even that, just a thought. When I first put these in the timings were wrong from the 8-8-8 setup that is advertised. Set at 9-9-9. My MoBo however picked up the RAM type and actually had a saved profile from them with the correct timings, I just selected the profile and it was all set. I wonder though, was it the MoBo that found the correct settings, or the RAM telling the MoBo what to do? If so, then some people might not have as wasy a time getting the timings right in other MoBo's. Regardless,

Overall Review: Like I said I haven't touched them since installation. I've been thinking about OCing them, but I'm definitely an amateur when it comes to this matter and have not found much, if any documentation about doing it with this RAM. SO I'll just leave them as is for now, I think I definitely want to get another pack of these for a total of 8 gigs though. That just seems like an amazing value. As for the WEI issue, if you are looking at the ripjaws series of RAM, just pay a bit more, get these and not the regular ones. My setup: ASRock P67 EXTREME4 (B3) MoBo Intel Core i5-2500K @4.4Ghz This RAM Radeon HD 5850 Hyper 212+ CPU cooler Corsair TX650w PSU Two 500 GB HDD's Cooler Master Storm Scout case

Amazing Hardware.

XFX HD-585A-ZNFC Radeon HD 5850 (Cypress Pro) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card w/ATI Eyefinity

Pros: Plays all Games max settings on my 19" 1440x900 resolution monitor. Crysis at solid avg of 35 while Warhead averages 40-45. Easy tuning, easy OCing, great cooling. When gaming I keep the fan at a mere 40% and the card never goes above 50 celsius. I OCed it as far as ATI overdrive would let you with no problem. You can go higher if you get the AMD OC tool I believe. I don't feel the need to however. Free Dirt 2, Wonderful box, seriously XFX makes the sexiest boxes no matter how trivial that may seem :)

Cons: Does not let me play one of my old favorites. Star wars republic commando.

Overall Review: I'm on to bigger and better things now anyways though. Yes it does work with old games though. Tron 2.0 and GTA 3 work fine. My system: E8500 CPU @ 3.6Ghz XFX Radeon HD 5850 4 gigs 667 RAM Corsair 650w PSU Cooler Master Storm Scout case

HIS Radeon HD 5770 (Juniper XT) 1GB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 CrossFireX Support Video Card H577F1GDG

Pros: Can someone tell me when they are going to start selling the bundle with dirt 2 again? I'm not going to buy these cards unless it comes with a DX 11 card and I dont understand why anybody would. 4890 is better.

Cons: Horrible timing on neweggs part. I was about to buy the bundle and 1 day before, they took the deal off. Not cool newegg.

Overall Review: Please get the bundle back up for sale.
