Pros: Previous Router was WRT1900AC & has limited WIFI connection speed when I upgraded my internet. The MR9600 was an excellent choice for our home office, video chats, video conferencing, large file upload/download, etc for multiple users [2-3]. The increased range is also a bonus. We run two small tech companies from our home, so WIFI is critical. I would estimate we have purchased ~10 routers over the years.
Cons: Because the range increased, I had dropped connections. I need to use the range finder option & relocate the base communication channels. My neighbor's WIFI units were interfering because antenna coverage increased. I reduced one egg from 5 because I am not a fan of the iPhone GUI. While it gets the job done, I preferred the standard unit GUI. Also, I configured a custom DHCP table for the home MAC addresses & then reduced the DHCP lease range. i.e. not a configured MAC address, no internet access from me if you crack my SSID password. I could not locate a method to reproduce the DHCP configuration.
Overall Review: Overall , this unit is an good WIFI upgrade. I do recommend to enhance your WIFI experience with this unit. I took another egg rating away today. I have a nagging issue with my Honeywell WIFI Thermostats. All three will drop off-line & will not connect until I execute Channel Finder via the App [Info came from LinkSys Technical Support]. I actually replaced one [not WIFI related] & it behaves just like the others. We also experienced a router crash yesterday. My previous router never failed me. I also re-activated my WIFI extender for the second floor.epilogue & thoughts one year later: I removed another egg today. I reported the issue to Linksys technical support. I did not receive any feedback. So, after a year of dealing with the various dropped connections, about every 1-2 weeks, I am very disappointed especially considering the product cost. I keep checking for newer firmware, still nothing. I no longer support this product.
Pros: The faster USB-C connection works well. I purchased this drive for my Time Machine Backups. It is a faster drive that my other USB SATA drives.
Cons: None at this time.
Overall Review: I recommend this drive because of the USB-C interface.
Pros: I ordered six 6TB drives to replace six 3TB drives in my media server (BSD Free NAS). The only issue was the rebuild time since i replaced the drivers one at a time. The RAID is online without errors.
Cons: There are no negative issues other than I need to increase the RAM to support the larger RAID.
Overall Review: Update: After two years running my media server [in RAID configuration], a drive just failed. My opinion; this is an acceptable event because I built this server with a drive failure in mind.
Pros: I purchased this drive as a "filler" disk for my Windows10 Storage Space disk upgrade [3TB to 6TB]. This is a very intensive I/O process lasting 24 hours, empty data partitions from RAID config, replace hardware, add drive to RAID & rebalance (repeat until done). The USB-3 WD drive handled the numerous data partition migrations without issue, including the drive I/O performance. I now use it for my Mac Backup drive. This is my second WD external 3TB drive. The first one [silver] is attached to my media win10 server.
Cons: A padded carrying case would be nice, since my external drives tend to have issues over time. And because, I travel a lot, I repurposed a zippered case with foam padding from a small USB battery backup to help protect the drive.
Overall Review: I definitely would purchase this product again. It is faster drive than my 2TB external drives.
Pros: if you need a quiet power supply, this is it.
Cons: I now need to replace the case fans because they are loud. I did not notice when the other power supply was installed.
Pros: The MacBook arrived on time; booted & loaded my last time clock backup within an hour. It is 100% functional without any issues.
Cons: I do not have any negative feedback.
Overall Review: I definitely recommend the supplier.
Pros: I replaced my old Linksys 3000 only because it was getting old. The EA6900 integrated into my network very nicely. The signal coverage encompassed the entire house. I turned off my WIFI extender & the secondary WIFI access point while I finish my testing. All WIFI units are online so far. I ran a DSLreport performance test prior & afterwards. It reported a 2x-3x performance improvement.
Cons: The unit shipped with a previous WIFI configuration. I held the factory reset for 20 seconds and it cleared.
