Pros: Boot quickly - operates as advertised. We cut boot time on the windows xp machine I installed this on by over 75%. It would be much faster if there weren't network dependent things in the boot cycle.

Cons: The software for data transfer was basically useless in our situation. I downloaded the Norton Ghost software that was recommended as an alternative and was able to be up and running fairly quickly. As a test, I also used another provider's cloning software and found that it worked quite well also. If you did not purchase the cable/kit, the data transfer software may not recognize the drive. I used a Thermaltake USB connector to attach the drive to the computer and could not get the Samsung software to recognize the drive.

Pros: When they work, they are very reliable. A lot of storage space for a reasonable amount of money. Windows storage server - which can also be a minus. Both of these have been in our work environment for the better part of two years. Both have been replaced under warranty - see cons below.

Cons: It takes FOREVER to do a factory restore on these. I have one that took over 96 hours to format the disks. Yes I know there is 16 TB of space here, but 96 + hours - seriously? Both units have been replaced due to network card issues - and one of them due to the inability to even restore it. When we got the replacement, it could not read our old hard drives, so all of the data had to be restored. Tech support is ok - however, be prepared for hold times and a struggle to get to level two even when you know you need to go there first. Also, as with so many things these days, make sure you have the serial number jotted down somewhere easy to find if these are stuck in a hard to access area.

Pros: We had one go bad - this slipped in perfectly and has worked flawlessly. We have several older servers that use this Power supply and have had only one failure in 7 years. I expect that we will need to replace the servers before any more fail....

Cons: More of a caution. If you have the stock ram that came with the Mac Pro, it may not be compatible with this Ram. I had to remove the 2GB that shipped with our Mac Pro before this would work.

Overall Review: Be sure to read how to install the ram at Apple's web site. The placement isn't all the intuitive.
