Sweet n Nice mobo

ASUS SABERTOOTH 55i LGA 1156 Intel P55 ATX Intel Motherboard
ASUS SABERTOOTH 55i LGA 1156 Intel P55 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Nice MB, setup was easy with the Intel i7 860 2.8G CPU. Used my same hard drive and OS system (Vista 64-bit). This board is stable, very stable. I have not tried any overclocking yet but it definitely has the setups to do so. This Mobo runs nice and cool at 33C. CPU with the stock fan runs 64-67C under full gaming load, 40C idle, waiting for an after market cpu cooler to arrive to fix that problem, just like things to run a bit cooler than that. Plenty of USB parts on the back, haven't tried the onboard audio so can't comment on that. No issues with getting my XFX 260 video card on it and its isn't bumping anything else on the board, yeah! Corsair 750W PSU, 8 gigs of 1600Mhz DDR3. Only issue which wasn't board related was I had to use the telephone reactivation system to get my OS reactivated cuz of the new CPU, just and annoyance and nothing more.

Cons: Only has 2 PCI slots, a third in case I wan't to add anything down the road would be nice.

Overall Review: No regrets getting this board, I was hesitant because there were no reviews posted when I made the purchase, glad I took the risk and tried. Just read the specs well and make sure it will do what you need it to do.

Shelve the isopropyl alcohol

Arctic Silver Arcticlean Thermal material Remover & Surface Purifier ACN-60ML (2-PC-SET)
Arctic Silver Arcticlean Thermal material Remover & Surface Purifier ACN-60ML (2-PC-SET)

Pros: Cleans up the traces of cpu thermal grease that I could never get off with isopropyl alcohol.

Cons: Two step cleaner that works! With this and coffee filters for cleaning its as good as the new look.

Overall Review: I will always keep this around to clean my CPUs, never again isopropyl alcohol and elbow grease.

Works with Vista 64-bit

Zonet ZEW1642 Wireless Adapter IEEE 802.11b/g, IEEE 802.11n Draft 2.0 PCI
Zonet ZEW1642 Wireless Adapter IEEE 802.11b/g, IEEE 802.11n Draft 2.0 PCI

Pros: Very easy installation, drivers I needed were on the disc. Great price and works better than more expensive cards advertised as Vista ready.

Cons: None yet. Unless it pukes I won't have any.

Overall Review: I had a Linksys card (Vista Ready) in my XP system. When I built my new PC with Vista 64-bit it wouldn't work with it. I called Linksys customer support. They said they had no solution, that everyone was having issues with 64-bit Vista and told me to buy a new card. This card was less than 6 months old, and it was advertised as Vista Ready, I was beyond peeved. I told them I would never be buying one of their products again. So I got online elsewhere and I found this one, I read that others were using it with 64-bit Vista and Windows 7 and I ordered it, very glad I did.

Western Digital Black WD7501AALS 750GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Hard Drive Bare Drive
Western Digital Black WD7501AALS 750GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: Reliable, error free so far and very quiet.

Cons: So far none.

Overall Review: Way better than the 2 Seagate drives that didn't last 3 months each, brand new out of the box. I now have 2 of these in both our PC's. No more Seagates for me, WD is where I will stay from now on.

Corsair Dominator 4G

CORSAIR DOMINATOR 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model TWIN2X4096-8500C5D
CORSAIR DOMINATOR 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model TWIN2X4096-8500C5D

Pros: Runs great at 800 speed.

Cons: Doesn't run at the advertised speed on my Mobo. Runs at 800.

Overall Review: Newegg needs to put this in a box when shipping, not a padded envelope. I had to RMA this to Corsair, one of the capacitors had been broken off during shipping and believe this was causing game lock ups. Corsair was prompt with the RMA and I had replacement in my PC in no time and no issues since the modules were replaced.
