Great overclocker but picky with memory

GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard
GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Very stable, great features, many bios options (saves this board from 1 star - read other thoughts,) affordable (especially after MIR,) overclocks very well. Includes eSATA bracket for rear of case!

Cons: Very picky on memory. Will only run a lot of memory as single channel (one stick only.) Gigabyte support forums don't help and their memory compatibility charts are outdated and don't contain many choices.

Overall Review: I found many forums where people were having problems with memory running in dual channel mode, but their memory would run fine with only one stick. Mine was the same (OCZ Reaper 2x2gb.) I finally found the magical memory settings in the OCZ forum that made my memory work in dual channel mode: FSB@400, Memory divider 266c for 1066mhz. This overclocked my e8500 to 3.8 GHz, but it seems to be handeling it without any problems. I thought I was looking at an RMA for the board but the OCZ forum saved me the trouble. Thanks OCZ!

Just works

H&R Block 2022 Deluxe + State Win Tax Software Download
H&R Block 2022 Deluxe + State Win Tax Software Download

Pros: Works well, especially if you have used it in the past and can import your data

Cons: None

Overall Review: I've used this for years and never had a problem. It only gets easier after the first year as you can import your data from the previous year and just update the information that has changed. I keep an eye out at BF and new year to get it on sale at New Egg. Much better price during these times!

Great SSD

Crucial P5 Plus M.2 2280 2TB PCI-Express 4.0 x4 NVMe 3D NAND Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) CT2000P5PSSD8
Crucial P5 Plus M.2 2280 2TB PCI-Express 4.0 x4 NVMe 3D NAND Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) CT2000P5PSSD8

Pros: Good quality and fast

Cons: None at this time

Overall Review: I've relied on Crucial products for years and never had a problem. 5 eggs for Crucial! However, only 1 egg for NewEgg on this one. When ordered delivery was promised on a certain date and that is why I ordered from NewEgg instead of Crucial directly. NewEgg didn't even ship until after the promised delivery date and shipping took 5 additional days. I couldn't finish my buildout until this arrived. First time I've had this issue and hope it was only a one-off and not a trend.

Malwarebytes Premium Security - 3 Device / 1 Year - Download

Pros: Low load on devices Does it's job Cheaper on NewEgg!

Cons: None that I have experienced

Overall Review: I've used Malwarebytes for years and never had an issue since installing it. I once had a billing question when I needed to add another device and their customer service was great to work with.

Affordable printing when speed isn't essential

Epson EcoTank ET-2850 Black Wireless Color All-in-One Printer (C11CJ63201)
Epson EcoTank ET-2850 Black Wireless Color All-in-One Printer (C11CJ63201)

Pros: -Eco Tank ink is very affordable -Duplexes

Cons: -Top feed instead of tray feed needs more room behind the printer

Overall Review: If you turn the print quality to high it works well for such an affordable printer. I'm working mainly with print media so picture quality isn't as important. Someone else will have to review it as a picture printer. For text it's good enough for proofing work.

Quiet Cooling

Vigor Monsoon III LT Dual 120mm Fan CPU Cooler Socket 1366 Ready
Vigor Monsoon III LT Dual 120mm Fan CPU Cooler Socket 1366 Ready

Pros: Much quieter than the stock fan I ran on my old AMD and cools better. My E8500 is running at 3.8 with case temps at idle of 34c. However at idle my OC's E8500 is only at 25c! This is the first time I've ever had a cpu cooler than my case!

Cons: Very large so be sure it fits on your MB and in your case. Included instructions weren't' very good, but I've now read there are better ones on the website and a video in YouTube.

Overall Review: My new system build is quieter than my last one and much cooler. This HS has a lot to do with this.
