Awesome - best headset ever owned

SteelSeries Siberia V2 3.5mm Connector Circumaural Full-Size Gaming Headset - Black
SteelSeries Siberia V2 3.5mm Connector Circumaural Full-Size Gaming Headset - Black

Pros: Everything I wanted in a headset - comfy, plug it in and works right off the bat - no messing with software settings. It has the 3.5mm mini jacks and comes with extender cables. Thus, if you wish to disconnect the headset from the computer and use a standard desk mic and external speakers (as I do and they remain plugged in), this is perfect - just do it at the extender point without having to go down to the computer (mine happens to be buried under the desk so is a pain). The support is unique, with a floating steel cable design, and looks like it was designed to make it as comfortable as possible for the gamer. I personally am finicky about headset comfort and these do the trick. The telescopic mic works very well and you can adjust how loud you transmit by simply extending it to the desired length. I use mumble for gaming and it is only extended about an inch (mic is essentially at my cheek) and my peers say that it is clear and perfect volume there. In line, is a small volume adjust knob and mic on/off switch, which works really well. As for sound quality, I admit I am not a purest. I am happy if it sounds ok, as long as it is not overly base or tinny in nature. This one sounds just fine for the game I use and what I would expect. I can also live without surround sound. I had a big name headset before this, which was a USB, and it was 'flaky' and intermittent, whether or not it would work. You could hit buttons by mistake, and it lacked the comfort this headset has - yet was about double the price. The big guys should learn from this headset. If I were to design a headset, it would nearly be identical to this one.

Cons: Only one possible con I see is the headset cable/wires appears to be a bit light-duty, and I am a little concerned as to how well it will hold up over a year or two. Seems like they should have used a large wire gage, but only time will tell.

Did the job

ORICO HD-PW6102-SV Full Aluminum 5.25" Bay 6 Channel SATA Hard Drive HDD Enegry Saving Power Switch Controller Panel
ORICO HD-PW6102-SV Full Aluminum 5.25" Bay 6 Channel SATA Hard Drive HDD Enegry Saving Power Switch Controller Panel

Pros: I recently bought 4 of these, 3 silver and 1 black. Same thing, just different anodize finish is all. The sharp edges are there on the back where cables exit, but really are a non-factror to be honest unless you have a dynamic application. If you undertsand basic electronics, you dodn't need instructions as others have complained about. There are four DC inputs (SATA and 4-pin dfrive inputs from power supply) and 6 outputs that the power is distributed through via the 6 switches on front panel, labled 1-6 that correspond with tagged connector numbers. My goal was to clone a drive from my C:, then disable it during normal operations. To run a test, I turned off computer, de-selected drive C: (#1), and selected the new cloned drive (#2). Presto, the computer boots up fine with clone. Just turn off, turn off the cloned drive, re-engage C drive, and its business as mormal. I also have several data drive and when not needed, I just de-select them as well and run from the C: drive only. This is using W7 and Ease todo-backup free version, and was perfect for this use.

Cons: 2 of the 4 switches I installed had QC issues, but I worked around them. The first issue was two of the connectors going to the drive were tagged as "1", so I simply found which was number 2 and marked over the 1. Then they were all in order. The second issue was internally, the wires were reversed, so a position 5 actuated the tagged "4" spot, and vice versa, so I found out which one did what, and re-marked them with a sharpie marker. If hey had a Quality Control, these problems would not have occurred. Thus 3 stars from me.

Works great

Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex 500GB USB 3.0 Ultra External Portable Hard Drive STAA500605 Blue

Pros: Lightweight, affordable, and PCs see it right off the bat. Have tried using it between PCs and MACs, but some MACs don't seem to be able to read it for whatever reason. We just did a quick reformat in ExFat and that works great on W7 and MACs. The 500 GB size works fine for my needs.

Cons: none

Pros: Bought a 52-inch HD TV - needed cable for HD DVR box to TV - went thru the various reviews of other cables and this one. Seemed to be reasonably priced with good feedback. Hooked it up to box and no problems at all - HD TV signal looks great and I feel it's a good cable, good value, and was a great match for the job.

Cons: None
