It's CRANTASTIC!!
Pros: - Quad-core CPU - Ample RAM - Good video card - Fingerprint reader - Good speakers - USB 3.0 (2 of them!) - Pretty lightweight - Cool metallic finish - SATA III (not verified yet) - Blu-Ray
Cons: - Not 1.8GHz as listed but 1.5GHz - No back-lit keyboard - 5,400RPM laptop hard drive - Standard HP bloatware - Maxes out at 8GB of RAM - Screen resolution could be higher/better - SHIFT key is smaller than normal
Overall Review: I don't think anyone mentioned this thing having USB 3.0 ports. There are 2 on the right side of the laptop. I did the research ahead of time on HP's website and saw that this model is 1.5GHz and comes with the 2 USB 3.0 ports. I haven't looked into yet but if this laptop has 2 USB 3.0 ports, I'm under the impression this thing has SATA III as well. I noticed the default HP setup screen where you pick your language is set to Canada. I thought that was a little strange. I then noticed some of the strange function / symbol keys on the keyboard. Wondering if this model was released in Canada only... Regardless, it's a sweet laptop and has lots to offer in a lightweight machine. Highly recommended - especially for the low price (refurbished)!!
Only 1 of 2 Cans Usable
Pros: - Decent size can - Received in a timely manner
Cons: - Only 1 of 2 cans were usable. They were packaged together and the plastic safety tabs on both cans were still intact. Yet one can was completely empty. No damage was seen on the can so I don't know where / why the air escaped.
Overall Review: For some reason, I thought I wouldn't be one of the unlucky ones to receive an empty can but apparently this is pretty common. Pretty silly if you ask me. I wouldn't have thought it would be so difficult to ship these things without the air escaping.
Give me a break
Pros: Plugs into audio jack when not in use. Kinda works.
Cons: Ultra expensive. Doesn't always work. Trying to sign your name, you'll need to press pretty hard on the screen or else it'll cut you short and you'll have 1/2 a signature.
Overall Review: So ridiculous. You can buy these for under $1 online. I only purchased this (through my job's account) because the description clearly stated that it would work with an ASUS T100 tablet. The truth is, it will work on ANY touchscreen and is no different than the one's online for $1 each. Don't waste your money on this. Luckily this money is coming out of my job's pocket or else I'd attempt to return it for sure.
This card is not PCI-e 3.0
Pros: Haven't installed the card yet.
Cons: Haven't installed the card yet.
Overall Review: I knew it was too good to be true. A 2GB DDR5 PCI-e 3.0 card for $100? Everywhere I searched I found the same specs...until I found 2 conflicting spec pages on the Zotac website for this card. One said PCI-e 2.0 and one said 3.0. I contacted Zotac asking for clarification and was informed it uses PCI-e 2.0 - not 3.0 (they said they will update their website asap). I just wanted to let everyone know that as the information on the web is misleading people to believe it's 3.0. Hopefully Newegg will read this review and consider revising the product info to state it uses PCI-e 2.0. I will be getting the card in the mail tomorrow so I can't comment on the card's performance at the moment.
Helps a bit
Pros: This little thing helps take the guesswork out of making hard boiled eggs ...to a point (see cons).
Cons: I placed cold water in a pot, placed 6 jumbo eggs in the pot along with this item. Right off the bat there was a bunch of debris that floated to the top. Some of it red and some of it misc colors. There are no instructions so I wasn't sure what to expect. The item starts to turn white in color, starting from the outside and working it's way to the center until the item is completely white. I'm assuming this means the eggs are done. Apparently I was wrong as I immediately cracked open one of the eggs under cold water and found that the inside wasn't COMPLETELY cooked. It was edible and all but still, I feel like I'm going to have to wait a few additional minutes AFTER the item turns white to ensure the eggs are in fact hard boiled. This is a little disappointing.
Overall Review: Overall, it's a cool idea. I'm going to take my friends advice and poke a hole in the top and bottom of the eggs with a pin before cooking next time. Maybe if I do that, I won't have to wait additional minutes after the item turns white. Only time will tell. I have to go now, I have eggs to eat :D
Grrrrr
Pros: - The keyboard is nice. - Touch screen is a nice feature. - The GPS feature seems to work pretty well. - Cool form factor.
Cons: - BATTERY LIFE. I've never seen a phone with such a poor battery. I just don't get it. I really don't. Keep a charger handy. If use the GPS, you're done lol. Stream Pandora, you're done. Send a lot of texts, you guessed it. Done. - You can't upgrade the OS so it's stuck at 2.1. - The camera is awful and pretty much useless. - The notification light when you get a text or email isn't very good. The few home buttons blink but they blink white and the buttons are white to begin with so I have to literally stare at my phone for a few seconds to wait and see (not like a BlackBerry for example that will blink with a red LED). - I've had numerous connection issues with Facebook and other apps. I pretty much use my company phone for everything from an entertainment standpoint. - It has also rebooted on me 2 times in one day and I'm unsure why.
Overall Review: I have an iPhone my job provided but I wanted a personal phone with my own number, etc. I went with StraightTalk and bought this phone because I wanted a phone with a decent keyboard. I do very much like the keyboard but there is one strange quirk. If I type in a symbol such as "$" it automatically places it one space back. Very frustrating. So if I type: "I paid $20 for the bag of dope." It will show as: "I paid$..." If you try to be slick and add 2 spaces to compensate it makes a "." lol. You have to literally move the cursor back and add the space. I don't know, maybe it's just my phone or an Android 2.1 issue.
