1080p is good for me

ZOTAC GeForce GT 610 512MB DDR3 PCI Low Profile Ready Graphics Card ZT-60604-10L
ZOTAC GeForce GT 610 512MB DDR3 PCI Low Profile Ready Graphics Card ZT-60604-10L

Pros: Bought this to return to use a comp for a family member. This card replaced a GeForce 8400 GS running on an Atom 230 BOXD945GCLF motherboard. The GeForce died after many years of faithful service. Previously the best it could manage was 720p playback, now it play anything I've thrown at it. I love the fact that it is passively cooled, I had to replace the fan on the GeForce twice during it's long life.

Cons: none

oh well - better luck next time?

ZOTAC GeForce GT 610 512MB DDR3 PCI Low Profile Ready Graphics Card ZT-60604-10L
ZOTAC GeForce GT 610 512MB DDR3 PCI Low Profile Ready Graphics Card ZT-60604-10L

Pros: It is passively cooled, (the HS is cute) in this day and age of billion watt video cards that's novel? It has barely enough power to play 1080p? oh yeah and you can stuff it in a PCI slot.

Cons: Do not purchase this card unless you are certain it will be compatible with your hardware. And how can you do that you may ask? Well you can't! I tried this in two motherboards: 1st a Intel BOXD945GCLF Intel Atom 230 and an MSI K9A2 Platinum The card exhibits what can only be best described as a memory corruption issue. It acts like the board wants the BIOS to allot hardware memory to the card (which can't happen) then none of the NVidia drivers (nor the Micro$oft WDDM driver) is set to handle this. Then as the OS pages virtual memory the non-protected RAM gets overwritten and the driver crashes. Zotac support is zero help the rep says: load the driver. cool idea Sahib I'll get right on that :P I've observed many other users complaining of this same issue. So yeah pass this on by guys

Overall Review: to bad I tarried and tried to troubleshoot this I would have demanded a refund but I've not once ever done that since I began buying from NewEgg a decade ago currently this is out of stock best to leave it that way ;)

Ever Ready

OCZ Vertex Series 2.5" 30GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) OCZSSD2-1VTX30GXXX
OCZ Vertex Series 2.5" 30GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) OCZSSD2-1VTX30GXXX

Pros: Still in continuous use 4 years, 10 months, and 22 days later I've never had a problem since the final firmware release. If it ever isn't seen in BIOS I simply reflash and restore in under five minutes.

Cons: I don't have any cons but for users that couldn't easily reflash the firmware this drive wouldn't have been a satisfactory user experience.

Overall Review: I believe this drive will last forever.

When blazing fast is about right

Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6205 Dual Band N600 PCIe adapter, External antenna
Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6205 Dual Band N600 PCIe adapter, External antenna

Pros: Stuffed it in a PCI Express x1 slot wasn't noticed swapped to a PCI Express x16 slot fired up no problema. Used my old connection to down the driver from the Intel site (who others with CD's these days)? Previously the strongest RSSI signal I could get was a wavering 28 ~ 32% now that SSID is pegged @ 98% solid as a rock.

Cons: I didn't purchase this product sooner.

Overall Review: It seems like the speeds in the 5 gig band are going to be adequate for quite some time

Seagate BarraCuda ES ST3250620NS 250GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: Purchased Nov 2008 has been in continuous use since then. Never had an issue, it will outlast its usefulness. I have an OCZ SSD as my boot drive and this provides storage.

Cons: None at all man

Pros: Yes folks if you are shopping for a SSD This is the one to get, hands down the best one going no doubts about it

Cons: Cons: there aren't any best bang for the buck and the greatest compatibility currently possible

Overall Review: what's not to like?
